I bet that sprinkler is to keep deer from eating everything. I have 4 of the motion rainbirds and they do a great job on my property keeping the Deer and the rabbits from eating all the landscaping. Btw we followed MV Marlinda in the morning mist up the Grenville channel on our way to Sitka Ak a few years back. Also see her moored in Lake Union occasionally. 😎
Hi .....Guy's...We enjoyed your great video today..beautiful content..There is so much to see and do up there where you are..be safe...looking for word to the next one...
Spiden Island used to be a private hunting resort and had all sorts of crazy animals on it. They still have the sheep, goats and some small asian deer, but the numbers have been reduced over the years.
I just "stumbled ' onto your channel. Looked up your past videos. And being from Seattle/San Jaun, Friday Harbor...had to check. Last time I was there was in the 80's...Roche had surely changed. Just a FYI, the two story/split level up on the hill (right of the ferry dock..as you're docking) is a B'nB. The house was built by my folks.
I'm beginning to think you guys' DNA is better suited for warmer climates although you've made the very best of the Pacific Northwest. Thanks soooooooooo much for sharing.
Nice to see you again! I missed you, but I know you’re getting ready for something else, a big tour that I’m really looking forward to! I wish you nice days and a lot of joy from Hungary, Siófok!
Yay!! I've been sweating on seeing that flopper stopper work ... was never really sure if they were "worth it" & now I know 👍. Keep up the great work .. love your vids 😊
I did scuba for director of Friday Harbor labs. I ran at night. When i run my breathing gets intense! I went inro spring st. Bar with my dive partner. As we listened, they started talking about hunting viscous bear thats got on the Island. Then i realized they were talking about me an my run across island too county park!
Good video 😃 how are the fuel prices where you are I'm in California diesel fuel is 6.50 and rising it is affecting every thing boating rv's trucks food so is it going affect your travel 🤔 so far not stopping travel 😉
They went to Westcott bay Oyster farm that is the location of the Webb summer school for boys. I went there for a couple of summers. It brings back some great memories
Great fun show good times on the water, thanks for sharing. I was wondering what is the roller on the dinghy’s port transom used for how? Calm seas and safe travels to all.
During full day/multi-day cruises, do you have an engine room monitoring/inspection schedule, i.e., every 4 hours? I have seen some videos where various engine components have "stickers" indicating temperature/operating performance ranges that can be referenced with what is actually occurring. Some even have hand-held temperature 'guns' to read the actual temperatures of components. Would also like to see what you use for an anchor bridle and how you set it up. Great informative videos.
Steven Tyler wrote the lyrics to "Livin' On The Edge" while they were in a hotel in Los Angeles during the L.A. riots in 1992 and watching the insanity from the window of their room.
Just started the video. Without getting too crazy, I agree that "Livin' On The Edge" is a great song for today's world....WTF is going on? The reports this morning about the atrocities in Ukraine by Russians...SMFH. We gotta do better! I'm the same as you, I don't usually listen to specific lyrics, just love a song or not. My wife has always paid attention to the lyrics. Just saw the float plane taking off. Love any planes always! Stay safe, safe travels!
I don’t know…it sounds to me like the muscles and oysters are the most eco friendly given what you told us. Now, where is Miss Martha? Don’t tell me she is at the Vet? I hope nothing is wrong there? Great video, I will have to get over there soon!
Have you had Wellfleet Oysters? AFTER you slip down the coast, and thru the Panama, then, come up the East Coast, to New England and Cape Cod. THAT's where oysters are the best.
Wow. So happy 😊 I found your channel. I love everything transportation. I watch trains going all over the world and planes, cars and anything that is in the water. Just something I like to do. But I wanted to comment mainly on the respect you both have for each other. You both speak very well and no sweary words. That in itself is important to me. So many people ruin their channels with the F word and worse all through their videos. I just UNSUBSCRIBE from them. Thank you from SCOTLAND BTW-1 I hate shell fish, fish, etc! Ugh! ( I know) BTW-2 I love your wee doggy 🐕
Yes. Crab pots. There are everywhere around the islands all summer. Have to keep a sharp eye or you will go right over them, and possibly get them caught in your prop.
Shawn must be a great partner….jeez, couldn’t get his a** out of bed to show us the Night Vision. Been waiting. With that response I won’t inquire how the oysters worked for him .. 😂 I know you were ready to go! 😂😂
Insurance is vessel specific. Many different factors such as; vessel age, material, fuel, speed, cruising area, live aboard or not, operator skill/experience/licensing etc. You need to get quotes for your specific situation.
Great video but I'm sorry, I still will not eat oysters, clams, crabs or lobsters. They consume the garbage on the ocean floor. Does not seem appetizing. Thank you for the great videos. It keeps me focusing on trying to obtain a live-aboard boat and sail the Sound and the Pacific NW.
Those animals do not eat garbage, they are filter feeders and pull small bits of organic material out of the water column or from lying on the sea floor. They have existed for millions of years, long before humans started using the oceans are garbage dumps.
@@andrelegris998 Agreed, however; because humans have screwed up the planet, that "organic" material is polluted by the waste and garbage put into the oceans. It may filter but the pollutants are still there like any filter.
Um, most of the fish consumed are bottom feeders... Examples of bottom feeding fish species groups are flatfish (halibut, flounder, plaice, sole), eels, cod, haddock, bass, grouper, carp, bream (snapper) and some species of catfish and shark. Sure hope you never eat bacon either cause pigs eat............ almost anything.
@@JCrook1028 I don't eat fish. I am a "turf" kinda guy and yes, I know pigs will eat just about anything and I will still eat bacon, pulled pork, ham, and baby back ribs!!
I love you kids, but forcing a dog to wear clothing in above-zero weather is borderline creepy. I take it back. Not borderline, just creepy. This impulse may be Nature’s way of telling you need to have actual children.
Every time i watch your videos it seems to me Shawn has already won the lottery!
Where is Miss Martha??
I was gonna ask where Miss Martha was but then I realized this is from last summer. I enjoy your videos and the Babies ❤️

So nice to see a new video from you, really love your lifestyle and that you share it whit all of us. 💙💙
Saw the boat "Shana" up at Shelter Island boatyard. getting some work done. A. fine example of the style of Ed Monk. Thanks for having us along.
Nice to see Captain Elizabeth at the helm, twice. Thanks for another lovely video. Best wishes from the UK.

An excellent show, pre Miss Martha, I sure dig her!

We were in Roche Harbor that same time last Summer when Marlinda was at Roche...and ran that same route. 🤟
Great to know about mussels and oysters. However... don't you wonder they do with the stuff they're filtering when you're eating them...?
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
Another great video thanks 😊
First I ever heard about those Big Game from the 60/70 too a couple days ago on Maya 🐋 watching

What is the significance of the little buoys with flags when you were motoring to the restaurant?
Might be for crab pots

You inspired me to run off to the SJI too!!
Elizabeth...I've never seen you take the wheel before.
only Mr. Sully? must be an older visit?

Sheep tails go down, goat tails go up.

Elizabeth, you have given you nails some stick. Get Shawn to redo them for you.
A flying killer whale.??? 👍👍👌👌👏👏🐋🐋
Do we need a "LET ELIZABETH DRIVE" campaign?
And thats why people get sick !

Well that’s not very nice. Maybe try and be accepting of diversity. I thought Sully was rocking the jean jacket. Very cute💕🐶💕
@@dianestrickland1636
No, it has nothing to do with diversity. Dogs have a coat of their own, they don't need clothing.
I think someone is jealous of your super cute dog and awesome boat! It's okay, David; I am too!
Perhaps they can't have kids? 🤷♂
