Pls note that the nishada in Mukhari is indeed KAISIKHI and not kakali. Due to a slip of the tongue I have mentioned kakali at one point in the video. This is incorrect. The slides reflect Kaisikhi nishada. Also, it is important in Karnatik music to go by what you "hear" and not what names are being used to describe notes. Therefore what you hear throughout and what is true is that Mukhari uses Kaisikhi nishada. Thank you!
Madam A real artist is one who first enjoys oneself and then only the Rasikas will be able to appreciate it. You are one among them. Your deep involvement and immersion in the raga bhava is really great. All my good wishes.
Really beautiful & thank you so much for the explanation of the raagam Mukhari:):) I request you to explain the differences between Bhairavi, Mukhari and Huseini. Also Bhairavi has 2 daivatams, please explain the variation of daivatams in bharavi:)
Dear Doctor, your elaboration of Raga Mukhari is superb. I didn't have any formal training in Karnatic music but I was sitting by the side of my sisters at the time of their music classes from my age of six and learned karnataka music. Now in my seventy years of life journey , I have had heard the music of legends of all time. Your isai payanam takes me to a higher level to under the raga better. I would request you to take your isai payanam in my favorite raga- Begada at the earliest. Thanks once again. CA. Srinivasan N Iyer Presently staying at Boston, US., enjoying your raga Mukhari.
