I listen to both feelings and logic. A lot of people think they're oposite but it's not. Feelings are like a kind of a rought calculation, like when you approximate a result when you have to multiply big numbers. Logic takes more time to think about something but tend to be more accurate. I always try to do both because i can tell easily when someone is bullshiting me with feelings alone. It's when the conversation get more serious that i do the switch. In the end it's a "depends on the situation" kind of thing. We can also correlate Logic and Feelings. Feelings also are very usefull when you need to initiate a deeper reflexion. You feel that something isn't right, so you search for something wrong in your surroundings and/or memory.
Fun fact: The mimic cube copies the level of the item, So if you have a 1 star mimic cube infront of the non upgraded rune (26:15) It actually makes it worse than 2 non upgraded mimic cubes copying the rune.
fun fact in line with your question about trusting your feelings about "if something doesn't feel right you shouldn't be doing it" or a gut feeling. the gut feeling is actually caused by a nerve cluster located behind your stomach in your spinal column, in fact it can be classified as a second brain which helps in digestion as well it acts as an early warning system for the main brain when something is amiss and even though it's functions are a lot less compared to our main brain i at least believe you should trust those feelings
I switch between logic and feeling quite often. Some days I wake up and say this is logical I’ll do that and some days I wake up and think this is bs but it feels right. But in general I think there’s more feelings involved than I would like, as emotions can deflect facts and senseful things.
The both are important, you cannot neglect either of them, the two have to be balanced, it may not seem like it but feelings and logic are not contradictory, but rather complement each other.
Invisibility Potion is NOT useless. If you have a wand that attacks automatically you can keep your invisibility and still be able to attack. This combos well with summons because the enemies will be focused on your summons instead, and your wand will continue to auto-summon them as they die. Not sure how it would work on the Author though but it's REALLY op
Your philosophical question today reminds me why it's so important to do a great deal of introspection on ones own epistemology and ontology and to continue to challenge them so they can withstand scrutiny. This is also true of learning to spot fallacious thinking / arguments to help keep oneself from being swayed by garbage. Doing so can set up a frame work where you can use a rational thought process' in areas of your life where it is the best course. Same with the emotional side.
trusting your feelings all comes in moderation, if it comes to social situations generally you can trust your feelings. on the other hand with work or professional situations sometimes it can hinder you to think with your heart instead of your head and making calculated choices. but to make a general statement, it depends on the situation and how it affects others
For the trust the feelings thing it depends on the situation. If it's a big decision that affects people in significant ways then go with logic over feelings. If it's inconsequential or otherwise only affects yourself then feelings over logic.
I think that logic and feelings are intertwined. You can logically justify your actions with feelings, and you can feel that logic should be predominant in a given scenario.
About feelings, you can trust that you are feeling them and acknowledge them ! Most of the time, they will be right. But sometimes, feeling that something is wrong may just mean something that looked a lot like things right now was wrong, just an echo. I have to deal with rejection sensitivity dysphoria, and sometimes groups in which I'm quite included feel the exact opposite. In those times, I gotta find strategies to reality check and realign what is felt. I like giving my mimic cube a grimoire. It casts three that can summon their own three grimoires, 12 on screen ! They just die to laser boss and some of the late game stuff, so troll blood helps
these questions tend to ramble on your very bad a phrasing but in terms of the question you should always trust your gut its usually your subconscious has noticed something you haven't and is attempting to notify you of danger
If you are a person who isn't confident, your feelings will probably hold you back. You'll doubt yourself and never try. I think most situations should be approached logically and with as much research as possible.
QOTD: 50% of the time I’ve made a decision based purely on instinct it works every time. So I figure might as well not look like an idiot and think through what I’m doing where I’m going why I’m doing it. Or at least I try. Still wind up doing something stupid most of the time but hey at least I have a reason now
Since you've bought those passives, black hole needs a rematch. Just think about that passive which transfers 80% of left spell damage to the right spell with something like the bomb + black hole. Need to be careful which passives apply to what, i.e. speed and damage is okay for both, but something like tracking/split shot/multishot should only affect the black hole.
I'd say trusting your subconsciousness, the dumping site of all of your experiences can be the correct choice at times, but following logic and/or taking the advice of others is also a viable option, so it really depends on how important that decision is.
I think you have to know yourself well enough to let yourself be guided by your feelings. I think a balance of both is good but understanding why you feel things is so important. For example fear in places that don't have anything really to be afraid about if you listened you'd never take any risks but if you didn't then you might end up getting yourself into trouble
trust or don't trust your feelings? the answer is definitely: both TLDR: don't ignore your feelings, but don't rely on them either if something feels wrong, then you should reconsider doing it at least twice and only do it if you are absolutely sure that it is a good idea you should also probably consult someone else before you conclude it to be a good idea if something feels right, then you should still think it over once and try to find objective argument for why it is a good idea the intuitive answer to a problem is only very, very rarely the optimal answer it may be the easiest or most obvious answer, but it probably isn't the best answer only if you can't find a better answer, even after doing your best to evaluate the situation objectively, only then should you follow your feeling
I almost completely listen to logic as for most of my life I didn't feel anything exept anger. I'm 23 and only this 6months have understood any emotions at all. Although I have started understanding others emotions and have seen bits of it in myself.
Sifd, it fine to repeat things every episode! It lets new watchers understand what's happening, and the rest of us are mostly here to listen to what you have to say anyway
I prefer to listen to logic, i do listen to my feelings but if it’s important then I will use logic ( that is biased with emotion sometimes.) I think if the world was more logic driven then it would be better, but obviously the world wouldn’t be happy If it was entirely logical. Sometimes when I’m upset or happy I just do things that make no sense but make me feel better.
It depends on the situation for me Somtimes something feels good but is bad and on the same note, something that feels right may not be logical at the time you do it
(49:15) Lol. You turned the non-cures into an actual curse for your run. The -1 backpack slot curse looks different when you're leaving spells on the floor due to not combining earlier.
Aw man this is exactly why the game needs a late game stage or something. Super unlucky to not get a spell combine and finish off the run even stronger
I believe you should always trust your gut feeling but never make a decision without applying logic to a situation and my three favourite breeds of dog are dachshunds, great danes and staffies :)
QOTD: in the end thinking logically will always be better than feelings in most scenarios. But there is some scenarios where feelings/morality is the better option. In the long run
i am more of logic guy but just sometimes sometimes i have followed my gut like involving myself in events or situation my gut feeling has always saved me but if u ask 90% of the time i go more on logic which makes me overthink a lot of times
I haven't played for long, but the mana tap spell with lock on, 2 split, 1 lightning chain and 2 of the ones with multiple arrows ( I don't know the name) got me through the whole game. Damn near crashed my pc due to all the particles...
I think you're discounting the max health options a little bit too much, since health is a currency in the devil deal rooms. You mention that, but perhaps if you plan ahead for some of the good ones you can know how much you should try to save up in order to be prepared to take those options.
I think logic is better, because of morality. Like if you have very strong feelings for someone, and you do very bad things to get her/him to love you, it's very bad. But if you do the logical at least you know it's bad for the other person, other than doing it just because you love her/him. There still a chance that going for your feelings is better, because some situations the logic can't explain.
I do just give myself up to my feelings quite a lot of the time. Of course that I don't just explode everywhere, I use logic in regards to dealing with people, but with my day-to-day choices I go off my feelings, especially since that once I reaaally insisted in not going on a simple and small trip to the market with a friend of my mom and her car got impaled in the middle by a fence post she crashed into (Right in the spot I'd be seated because of her 2 toddler chairs), same way I didn't want to go to a place out of the city with my mom and godmother and guess what? A car rammed us in the back and we never got to the place. So yeah, I trust my feelings when I don't have to deal with people.
I wouldn't call this a philosophy question: your subconscious processes more variables than your conscious mind can. If something feels off, it is likely because your subconscious has spotted a red flag. So generally yeah, I trust my instincts. Though trust+verify is always a wise way to handle things.
?otD: "Do you believe that you should trust your feelings/instincts and act on them or not?" I think it depends on the person. We can get them for a variety of reasons, but generally it's good to add a gut feeling into consideration, and depending on the situation it can be a wise choice to follow your gut. When it comes to split second/moment to moment choices it's often far more favorable to rely on your 'guts/instincts'. Often I like to think the gut stores DEEP MEMORIES and PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE like an ORB so it's often WISE TO PONDER THE ORB and REFLECT UPON IT'S WISDOM. (I've had wizards on my mind)
If you mean more like emotional vs rational responses, I don't like that argument. It's used too much as a strawman in 'dEsToRiEd By FaX & lOgIc' shenanigans. 'Honestly speaking, actually factually' a rational response takes emotions into it, communication between humans is the sharing of thoughts & feelings right? We take into consideration things like tone of voice without much active thought, someone raises their voice, speaks in a whisper, or is completely monotone can change the context of a conversation. So essentially what I'm saying is(TLDR): in general emotional vs rational responses is a bogus argument because it pits knee-jerk reactions vs planned responses. Of course the properly planned response is the better solution.
I am always wary of feelings influencing my choices. It has lead to problems for me before. If I find myself WANTING something, I am almost certain not to get it without a lot of thought. This doesn't do any harm to me. But getting something without thinking about it, can lead to problems. Same thing with females. You have to be careful your emotions are not controlling you with females, that is a great source of problems.
like in most things, I think a balance is crucial. I also think each person is different though, so finding that balance can be difficult. I almost exclusively feel things, as opposed to thinking about it. But with that being said I was trained to think logically through my engineering program so it's a skill that I have when my intuition says it's probably warranted. If it's something important though then I'll generally come to a conclusion based on the way I feel about the subject, but then I'll try to test and verify my previous conclusions via logic to have a more comprehensive understanding of what I feel and why, and if that's a valid belief. The philosophy of critical thinking is _by far_ the most valuable pursuit I've ever done. If I had to only pick one course out of my entire degree to remember, it would be critical thinking hands down no comparison. 38:06 not that it was really useful but SifdBlind
So my personal feelings very rarely come into play when a logical choice should be made. For me anyways, following logic has kept me what I could say sane.
To the question of the day: It's proofed that the unconsious mind can work down 20 million informations a second, while consious you can only do 6 (not million). So It should be better to trust the feeling you got

I wanted to say approximately the same lol

The fast way to unload and reload is holding the SHIFT button down while hovering over the spells
standing still wand + the stealth relic is op because the secondary slots dont count as casts so you are permanently invisible but can still shoot
I switch between logic and feeling quite often. Some days I wake up and say this is logical I’ll do that and some days I wake up and think this is bs but it feels right. But in general I think there’s more feelings involved than I would like, as emotions can deflect facts and senseful things.
We’re gonna build a big, beautiful wall. And we’re gonna have mana pay for it!
Nice one
It's a VERY strict border policy if they catch you're found on the wrong side of the wall!... or close to the wall... or in the same room as the wall.
Nah the american government is gonna pay for it (:

I've watched literally all your episodes of this game
ghost flame focus is what I wanna see, been waiting for that since basically ep1....
I wish he would do books that spawn books that spawn books that do something lol. I love those builds

I haven't played for long, but the mana tap spell with lock on, 2 split, 1 lightning chain and 2 of the ones with multiple arrows ( I don't know the name) got me through the whole game.

Unbelievable O.o i love to see how u r' playin Sifd :D

I think you can't reroll to expansion stones in anvil rooms, saw them only in shops and as room rewards sometimes. Just saying
Always try doing the right choice even if it doesn't benefit me
I listen to the voices in my head. :D
I really wonder if TRUE PACIFIST work, you don't attack, your wands attack for you. With Guardian Ward etc.

100% lost ever time but I enjoy the videos you’re very intriguing
To the question of the day: It's proofed that the unconsious mind can work down 20 million informations a second, while consious you can only do 6 (not million). So It should be better to trust the feeling you got
Love your videos
Can you use the door reroll potion on the final boss door?
there are time and place for everything so i would say mix? sometime i want to go with feeling while other time it would be very stupid to do so.
Does the double eveything also doubles spells thrown on the ground?
21:49 you forgot to pick everything from the ground
Hey u prob won't do it but i will ask anyway, can you do longarm character build? I dont trust feelings i follow logic
I tend to use logic first, and feelings for when the logic is unable to answer
20:00 Hold shift and move mouse over, Found it out on accident. :D
why drink a potion? if you buy over your limit you just drop em and can pick em up again after you drank the one you wanted
13:38
Can’t you just get a potion to roll the devil deal key for something better?
Do you think there are alternate worlds?
Late-game shop wands are better yes, but I don't see any difference in the spell offerings from level to level.
The connected tentacles gross me out
Seems like any sword build lets you kill the last boss and barely any other build
Following your heart is how 99.9 percent of folks get in trouble. The human heart is wicked... and not in the skater kid cool way.
Yes please summons I need more summons
life isn’t meant to be solved, it’s meant to be enjoyed and anyone that disagrees is an intj and also wrong
You should use your thoughts to figure out why you feel the way you do.
Gonna jump into backpack battle release
Always trust your heat, except if it's about money, then use logic.
No, my feelings usually lead me down some dumb road, that might just be being impulsive though xD
Yk the game is very breakable when your chalenge is to kill the suposed to be invinsible boss that closes the demo
Emotions and feelings are a way to enjoy Life but not practical and sure ad Logic, today i chose a short answer, see you on the next one
i strongly belive i found the most broken thing in this game i made a wand ( Energy-Storing Gloabe the thing other wands can use mana from ) that automatic shoots the mana drain thingi woth 0 cooldown and over 1000 MP that is litteraly impossibel to drain infinit mana for totaly insane spell combos that dont need to look on mp cost xD
edit 1 dmg on manadrain spell still eaching over 500 dps xD
Just got enough time to say hello
i just had a god run with avacadabra lmao
