One time, I stole a horse from the Windhelm stables, but I accidentally got caught. As I was riding away, I legit hear the stablemaster say "By all means, help yourself. Who cares if I starve?" I thought it was pretty funny.
I got a fact for you: In your journal on the pause screen, the trim near the top is actually themed based on the questline it is. The Thieve's Guild questline has two lockpicks on each end, the Dark Brotherhood has skulls, the Companions have Bears, the main line has dragons (I think), and so on and so forth
I just noticed a VERY small but noteworthy detail. The chapel of Castle Volkihar looks noticeably like the temple of divines in Solitude, particularly the far end with the niches in the wall, though instead of shrines to the 9/8 divines there's just one big one to Molag Bal. That's not the notable part. the notable part is, while the Temple of the Divines has 9 niches, with one empty (unless under Stormcloak control) because of the banning of Talos, Volkihar's chapel only has 8. Why is that? Maybe the niches were never meant for the divines and it's just a coincidental similarity. Except, if you pay attention, you know Harkon wasn't the first to live there. Serana mentions the "original occupants" when talking about the moon-dial in the courtyard. The Chapel was likely still built with the Divines in mind. So why leave one out? Because this was BEFORE Talos became a god. Remember Serana is surprised to hear that Cyrodil is the seat of an empire, and the first time that happened was long before Tiber Septim's days.
I assume because the castle is from early in the First Era.. Back then the Imperial chantry only had 8 divines.. So why castle Volkihar only has a shrine to the 8 divines might be because at the time of construction there only were 8 divines for most imperials.. At the time the only one that might have ascended was Alessia after making her deal with Akatosh and her cult following after death however that was a extremely localized religion within certain parts of the higher society in Cyrodill.. Just like the word `empire` is kinda strange in Elder Scrolls, because Alessia was said to have ruled a empire even though she only controlled Cyrodil and parts of Hammerfell I belief.. The `empire` Talos created was perhaps triple the size of the one of Alessia and double the size of the one Reman Cyrodill created.. So the only empire that might have existed was the Alessian Empire aka the `first cyrodilic empire`, but that was relatively to todays sizes barely a Kingdom.. So its influences might not have reached Serena all the way in the north of Skyrim.. She isn´t omnicient you know so she is limited to her own experiences and limitations as well.. Might be she never heard of it, but that doesn´t mean it didn´t exist.. She might have just being sitting around in the castle for centuries for all we know.. Just like she wouldn´t be the 9th divine, she according to her followers was the 1 true divine.. It was something worshipped by the masses in general though.. And I belief Reman Cyrodill whom supposedly ascended after creating the second Cyrodillic empire (which included Skyrim) came somewhere late 1th era.. So again after the imprisonment of Serena.. So she couldn´t know about that.. Harkon would however.. Not saying Harkon is a imperial, but the developers of Skyrim seemed to have not bothered to introduce the Nordic Pantheon at all apart from a few references.. For example in previous entries the temple in Whiterun now called the `Temple of Kynareth` used to be called the `Temple to Kyne`.. The nordic variant of Kynareth instead of the Imperial one Honestly I wouldn´t be suprised if that was the case.. That it is just the developers not bothering to actually develop a functioning shrine for the Nordic Pantheon.. Since it is impossible for it to be a reference to the Nordic Pantheon because they have 10 divines I belief.. And the chapel is to old to be dedicated to any 9 divines.. That only leaves the 8th divine Imperial pantheon..
Hmmmmm. The one about Festus killing his wife on their honeymoon over the bath water... In the movie "Addams Family Values," Uncle FESTER'S wife tries to kill him on their honeymoon, in the bathtub. And Festus refers to himself as a crotchety old uncle. Coincidence or Easter egg?
The only possible reason for why you made that horrible foundation pun is because you need to capture our souls in gems for a deadric ritual. You definitely got mine because a part of my soul left me after hearing it...
You can use ulfric's axe in prison. When the Jarl of whiterun agrees to war in the stormcloaks quest. If you keep the axe before going back to Ulfric, you can use the axe in prison. It doesnt show up in your inventory but you can use it.
The thing about the dragon script is actually an excellent bit of worldbuilding by Bethesda. When designing a script, it's important to consider how it is written, and in what. Japanese Kanji look the way they do because they were painted in ink with a brush. Cuneiform was pressed into clay, runes were chiseled into stone, and modern languages are/were written onto paper with a pen. These all had a massive impact on the way that these scripts looked. For example, runes are devoid of smooth curves because those would be hard to produce in stone with a chisel.

Wow... I love you Nate after hundreds of days playing skyrim, you still manage to find things in the game I never noticed, giving me a chance to appreciate the game a new and rekindle my love for it all over again, simply awesome.

I love all the details listed in this video! I went expecting to know, at the very least, one, but walked away finding that I had known none. I think the one that I liked the most was the detail in Snow Viel Sanctum with the door puzzle being Raven-Raven-Snake. THAT was definitely a surprise!
Hey Nate congratulations on 200k! Now correct me if I’m wrong, because I don’t think you’ve mentioned this fact In your skyrim series. So svana fair-shield is Haelgas niece who wants you to get the marks of DiBella from her. If you stay in the bunkhouse and listen to them speak to each other, you’ll find out svana is in love with sibbi black briar. Perhaps you can put this in your next video, unless you already mentioned it. Have a good day man, and congrats again.
While absorbing a dragon soul you can see it on the map. It works best while on a hill and using unrelenting force to push it off while your still absorbing its soul
Hey Nate. I can’t remember if you covered it in one of these... When you meet Miraak, there are 3 different sentences he can say depending on your character’s deeds with dragons. One if you have slain Alduin, one if you killed “great many” dragons and one if you have “done little beyond killing few dragons”.
It's actually amazing that there are still things that you haven't listed. I have watched nearly every episode and pretty sure started at #6. Keep up the good work!
Tiber Septim allowed slavery to continue. I have no respect for Talos and his priesthood whatsoever. And if it is true that the Dragonborn is his reincarnation I just hope we were a improvement over Caesar’s spin off and his Dwemer Godzilla.
I don't think the Dragonborn is related in any way, its Akatosh gift not Talos. Having achieved apotheosis, why would he reincarnate? The Dragonborn like every PC of the main series has no canon race or gender.
mutegrab666 You May want to research all the theories about the Dragonborn being a avatar/reincarnation/oversoul of Talos. They are extremely complicated, a tad too much for me to dare risk going into details and getting as much bananas as Septimus, but the general idea is that the Dragonborn is so ridiculously powerful and Alduin such a mighty foe, even if weakened after forsaking his World-Eater role, that only a god could defeat him. I have to say that the Talos’ avatar and the Maliq/Lockham’s avatar theories are by far my favourites about the lore.
I've always joined the Stormcloaks. Mainly it's because I like blue more than red, "Stormcloaks" is a cool name and Ulfric and Galmar are cool guys, but also because I feel like preventing the belief in Talos "because we, The Almighty Thalmor, Evil Masterminds and Soon-To-Be-Rulers of the World, say so" is a more personal offense than the Stormcloaks' racial prejudice. I have stronger views on, and care much more deeply for, personal affairs such as freedom of worship than I do general affairs such as racial prejudice.
Dude, keep these videos coming, they are amazing! This is my thoughts on the Puzzle Door before confronting Karliah. I don't believe that it may be foreshadowing, but instead it could represent Karliah and Gallus as the birds and Mercer as a snake. At the point in the game, the player is not a Nightengale, so I believe it is representing Mercer's betrayal of Karliah and Gallus.
I finally knew one you were talking about before seeing the video! Stumbled on the three goats' bridge my second playthrough some years ago. Love this series!
I hate to admit it, but Heimskr gets on my nerves so much. I try not to kill the guy, but damn, there's only so much evangelical Taloism (yes, I invented a new word), that a person can deal with!
HEY, Nate. Your resident English teacher here. Sorry I'm late, I was off bugging other youtubers about inconsequential pronunciation errors. JK, it's Sunday, I slept in :) EXCELLENT work this time, Nate! I found only one tiny error: ecstatic is pronounced ehk-static, not ess-static. But that's a tiny thing, even for me :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend! -Jesse
I love this series and how its not just "oh look heres an unmarked location" but obscure parts like that nightingale reference. But I'm sure that dovahzul one has come up before...
There's other really cool secret little tidbits said about Daedric artifacts, actually!!! If you have Mehrunes Razor equipped, sometimes guards will whistle lowly, saying afterwards "Who did you have to kill to get a blade like that?" (or smth similar), they will question the dwarven make of Spellbreaker, and call the staff you get from Vaermina "foul & unnatural", if you have Volendrung guards may ask "what do you intend to do with that hammer? knock down a house?", and will comment "you wield... Azura's Star? How is that possible?" to wit the real question is how tf can you see into my pockets, and if you have Namira's Ring equipped guards may ask smth along the lines of "your breath is awful; what have you been eating?"
It makes sense, too, since Cuneiform was carved and etched using the little bits and the dragon language was created to make it look like it was gouged with dragon claws
hey nate man i love ur vids and i am not just writing this for attention i mean i really love watching these tiny details and mysterys it is really entertaining keep it up
Nate, in Oblivion there's a series of humourous guide books that give you the run down for every major city. I'd love to hear your guide of each city! 😅 I just like the nonchalance of "that's Heimskr, he yells at people all day" passing by on a guided tour.
do u thing feren sadri u know the vampire merchant from volkihar clan cult my scary tragic theory that he might me responsible for the hall of the dead because he says the dialogue "u be surprised what people leave behind whenever BURNED their village to the ground" could he be referencing the hall of vigilante???
Hearthfire: It's Windstad, not stand. The towers can also have the canopies left off for full line of sight and firing angles on the surrounding area and skies. Valdimar is constantly fighting with horkers too, so Horksbane is a good weapon for him to use. Windstad also has the lowest random encounter chance of all three homesteads, while Lakeview has the highest. So Windstad is the safest homestead. It has several unofficial features also, the ancient archway to the south-west spawns more torchbugs than any other homestead, a fallen and rotting tree by Ustengrav spawns butterflies, shipwrecks have nordic barnacles (Windstad is best for alchemy), and Ustengrav (interior), plus the abandoned shack are unofficial player homes (that can be used to store stuff until Windstad is developed, then transferring is easy by foot). Furthermore, Windstad is a Skooma addicts dream as 3 bottles spawn on a barrel right outside the door to Ustengrav every ten days.
Gavin L I mean just play the side missions. There are a shit ton of them, when I say side missions I mean ignore the miscellaneous quests however doing some will lead to much more bigger quests.
I have loved watching this videos! I am yet to come across a tiny detail I don't know about, but I guess that's what happens when you clock over 15,000 hours on the Skyrim. Keep making these videos they are awesome. P.S You've inspired me to restart Skyrim again, here comes another month of the guards whinging about taking an arrow to the knee and bugging me about sweet rolls!

I don't know who's more insane at this point. Nate for finding all of these details, or Bethesda for for making all of them.
Jesus the fact that you got 30 parts to this series speaks volumes about this game. So much detail even though many people may never see it.
Best series of 2018
This one must have been difficult for Nate. Stabbed by Mercer Frey but you don't get murdered to death.
Jeff says Y'all need Talos
I finally knew one you were talking about before seeing the video! Stumbled on the three goats' bridge my second playthrough some years ago. Love this series!
I hate to admit it, but Heimskr gets on my nerves so much. I try not to kill the guy, but damn, there's only so much evangelical Taloism (yes, I invented a new word), that a person can deal with!
Yo I love ur whole channel I’ve been watching u for abt 5 months now and u always find thing to shock me (in a good way)
NOTIFICATION SQUAD READY UP!!!
Heyo!
I love that little finger snap you did when you were talking destruction magic
HEY, Nate. Your resident English teacher here. Sorry I'm late, I was off bugging other youtubers about inconsequential pronunciation errors.
JK, it's Sunday, I slept in :)
EXCELLENT work this time, Nate! I found only one tiny error: ecstatic is pronounced ehk-static, not ess-static. But that's a tiny thing, even for me :)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
-Jesse
Jesse H. I doubt he cares and maybe you should stop criticizing a guy who enjoys what he’s doing.
Windstand Manor, too. (it's Windstad)
Since when pointing out errors and criticizing not allowed?
+its apparently his teacher (unless its some inside joke) so its just a friendly response
The nightengale one was really clever I like that, awesome vid as usual!
Captain Aldes= Captain Al-dis
Cormac Doyle captain al-dis diiiiiiiiick!!!!!!
I love this series and how its not just "oh look heres an unmarked location" but obscure parts like that nightingale reference.
But I'm sure that dovahzul one has come up before...
"Maybe his name is Jeff" :Hi this is Jeff Kaplan from the overwatch
There is already OYFUM merch. Murder To Death merch when?!
I love your channel so much! and I love these videos!!
Also the dragon language resembles one of the oldest text forms: cuneiform
i saw that in my world history class and immediately exclaimed "Yo its the dragon language!" ...I need to stop playing skyrim
It makes sense, too, since Cuneiform was carved and etched using the little bits and the dragon language was created to make it look like it was gouged with dragon claws
Please keep these coming I love Skyrim your the only person that I watch that makes Skyrim videos! keep up the great work bud!
Damnation take all! Because of you and fudgemuppet I am reinstalling Skyim! Satisfied now? You made me lust for Skyrim again >:C
Part 30!? Nice work man!
Your voice is iconic
Especially when it occasionally rises several octaves.
I love your enthusiasm, and your humour, I hope to see more and more of these until TES VI is available.
Plus, Molag Bal rules!
I want to see a TES VI version of this series tbh
"LAY DA FOUNDASHUN!!!"
So an entire faction of monks are called the Order of Stupid? Wow...
Fact #4 blew my mind! Such a subtle yet awesome hint!!
I almost made my fallout character David Bowie because the idea of David Bowie running around a nuclear wasteland is hilarious to me but I did not
AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA
YOU SO SHOULD HAVE
hey nate man i love ur vids and i am not just writing this for attention i mean i really love watching these tiny details and mysterys it is really entertaining keep it up
Yes!You put in my fact!

Prodigy Gamer Which one?
It’s not really “your” fact though is it? Thousands of people will have known about it before you

Can't wait for 10 tiny details you may have missed in the elder scrolls 6!
6:01 please end me
Nate, in Oblivion there's a series of humourous guide books that give you the run down for every major city.
I'd love to hear your guide of each city! 😅 I just like the nonchalance of "that's Heimskr, he yells at people all day" passing by on a guided tour.
360p squad! YES!
Kryptev eyy
Kryptev what us 360p squad?
720
To me the most evil Daedra are: Boethiah, Mephala, Nocturnal, Vaermina, Namira, and Mehrunes Dagon!!!
do u thing feren sadri u know the vampire merchant from volkihar clan cult my scary tragic theory that he might me responsible for the hall of the dead because he says the dialogue "u be surprised what people leave behind whenever BURNED their village to the ground" could he be referencing the hall of vigilante???
I love these videos, please keep making them
*Get it away*
Generic Bread seeded loaves are better
Nate if you don't pin me I'll live myself to life
Masturbatory Tales Of Wonder no, don't do it!
You have so much to die for
If I never get a comment or pin from nate I'll murder Parthunax to death! I mean it!
New to the channel and love the uploads. Please keep going. I prefer Skyrim content but all is good
Ooga Booga
the dragons carved the words with their claws :O thats amazing. I love Skyrim so much
ESKEEETIIITTTT
Luis Chok-Nee get out of here with your dead memes
My favourite Skyrim series ever :3
These videos make me want to play skyrim. But I hate it's story.
Gavin L Just ignore the main story and play quest mods. If you are on PC I recommend Legacy of the Dragonborn.
The Pale Wolf. I'm ps3 I might beat skyrim but then never play it.
How do you hate the story, it's epic
Mada. Skyrim u have yo kill a dragon to stop the end of the world. Oblivion u get to take the fight to dagon and become sheorgrath.
P.S
You've inspired me to restart Skyrim again, here comes another month of the guards whinging about taking an arrow to the knee and bugging me about sweet rolls!
Always brightens my day
