Why so many people hating on this guy, he has a great voice? if you're only basing on his performance in this video then shit you not, he just got his kidney stones out. Of course he's gonna be kind of uncomfortable but other than that he gave a great performance. Ya'll talking about how Freddy's gonna turn on his grave and how he has a terrible singing technique (it matters though obviously), but at the end with all the bs and hate he delivered a solid performance and he entertained the crowd. So yeah, you can type crap all you want, most people won't give a shit.
@Sensei Raven Why are you visiting, much less commenting, on a page that you obviously do not like? I am a HUGE Queen fan! Have been listening to them forever! (I'm soon turning 55)Freddie is the original and there will never be another! No one can sing it like he does! BUT This guy is awesome! Has a fantastic voice and did a great job! Stop being a hater. Freddie would probably take it as a huge compliment =)
In 2012, I enjoyed listening to and watching Russell Crowe sing in 'Les Miserables' more than watching and listening to this guy singing "Fat Bottom Girls" and "Time of the Season".
The mistake you are making is believing it is a singing competition. It isn't. It's a popularity contest, first and foremost. Being a professional isn't all about singing ability, it's about charisma. If the show was all about ability, they would also have opera singers, who would likely win, and it wouldn't be nearly as popular.
Baritenor123 Why are you rightfully so? You got royalties with this song? Dude if you don't like the guy, his voice or whatever the fuck you don't like with him, then you can simply not watch it, give a bad review, hit the thumbs down, all that jazz. Why do you have to hate so much?
One of my closest Aussie friends lives in Brisbane - in almost 7 years, I have never once heard him sing an old Aussie folk song or seen him eat 'roo meat. Of course he's a millionaire, so that might be a bit out of his league. Good enough for trolls like you I suppose though.
Austin Tollison sometimes when a person is trying to get a certain it sounds kinda angry. I think he's trying to make his voice move... rough (?) for certain parts (I think that's what you are referring to but I can't be sure)
Oh, I'm fully aware of the 'popularity contest' angle. Judging by the talent that they have passed up (*Cough* Adam Lambert *Cough*), it's blindingly obvious. I am also not ignorant of the fact that being a professional in any endeavor requires more than just proficiency in that particular area. What irks me about this particular artist is that his talent is nearly nonexistent.
His vocal technique is atrocious, he's flat on almost every high note, and on a note unrelated to his lack of talent, his debut song was a derivative knockoff of a legitimately talented group (Mumford and Sons). Aside from that, nothing.
weak... terrible rendition. To his favor, I don't think there is anybody out there (even a professional artist) who can do this song like Freddy Mercury and Queen.
totally great. I saw it during Idol and I never get tired of Phillip's singing this song. makes me happy!
How can you not love this guy?
I live this rendition. Makes me happy!
He makes the funniest faces in every single song he sing!
LOVE this dude
How can one person be so awesome!
Just reviewing past AI's and man, this rocks!
people must be deaf. he is awesome and dreamy. and someone with real talent.
AWESOME whew just AWESOME im speachless

I grew up with these songs. I respect these songs I do not listen to shitty music but Phillips voice is good. Queen would have find it a good one.

I'm forever worried he's going to have an aneurysm during his performances, that being said - Perfection is what this boy is made of..
Saw him perform at my school last night..wish he would've sang this! LOL
He's too perfect to be real
0:40 aaaand I'm pregnant
I love Queen and I think this dude did a great job. Thank you, now go away. Obviously you like it or else you would be listening to Queen's version.
this issuch a good song haha

Why, yes good sir.
I am indeed 'mad'.
And rightfully so.

Why do you have to hate so much?
You won't like this unless you watch him sing it.
omgoodness... 0:43 - 0:46 is enough to make me faint! =)
Daww, he's pretty.
this song title tho

How did he get in the final after this?
Jealousy is everybody's problem. Too bad you do not see what I see and hear in Philips
why did he sound like he was angry when he was singing?

get a certain tone*
his "awwwwww's" were kinda annoying but overall it was good i guess..
You gotta complain about something on all of his songs chill
+太陽明るい Captain Levi knows everything. Hite, Captain Levi!
太陽明るい lol its cause Queen didnt have back up singers it was just them ;)
He sang that with so much joy, dude definitely an ass guy
I am 65 years old, and I just learned a new saying....Sux to suck!

He is offending all the skinny bottomed girls at the show.
only performance i liked from him
Phillips ode to Jennifer Lopez
0:10 NOPE ----> close window
I honestly enjoyed Russell Crowe's singing in 'Les Miserables' more than I enjoyed this performance and when this guy sang "Time of the Season".
Cute - can't say. Singing FBG?? Gimme a break. Freddie is rolling in his grave; it takes a rock voice to sing this song, and he just ain't got one.
Sensei Raven Wow you know freddie personally? got his opinion on this one face to face?
I thought he was dead.
His tone is almost ominous, makes me uncomfortable
Why does it look like hes constipated when hes singing
He had something wrong with his insides I do believe.
Kidney stones
But that's how he sings lol. I love it. It's unique.
His vocal technique is atrocious, he's flat on almost every high note, and on a note unrelated to his lack of talent, his debut song was a derivative knockoff of a legitimately talented group (Mumford and Sons).

how is it weak
u can hear it in his voice how strong it is
Naka Huynh I think it's an awesome rendition, but also, there will never be another Freddy Mercury
have you heard it by ADAM LAMBERT?
fierrote probably 50 time better than you could sing it
DAVE MATHEWS WANNABE !
