My uncle passed away when I was six. I never really thought about it back then, because I was a child. I've actually never really thought about it until recently, when I picked up the guitar he left me. I really wanted him to teach me how to play it, but I gotta figure that out myself. And I hope he will be proud in phantom form, once I figure out how to do so. Love you Robbin, though I never really knew you that well.

Over 20 years ago, I got the news that my sister-in-law had died. She was 26. This was a complete shock, as I didn't even know she was sick.
One Monday morning she didn't feel well, so she stayed home from work. On Tuesday she felt really bad and went to the doctor, who sent her to hospital. She was diagnosed with Gastric cancer and died that weekend. You just never know.

This was a nice tribute to someone you cared about. It doesn’t matter how close you were, he was family and you cared. He seemed like a good man.

What really sucks is that people wait to tell how cool you were until you're dead. Don't wait people, tell your loved ones & friends how awesome they are when they are around. A good solid hug feels great too!

Thanks for sharing a little of his story Joe, and sorry for your loss. I only met my uncle once briefly when I was 10 when he was waiting on our doorstep when I came home from school one day. He smiled and asked if I knew who he was and I wasn't sure until he said "I'm your uncle". He had trouble with the law through much of his youth and my mom wanting to protect us kids thought it best if he wasn't in our lives and told us kids to never let him in the house if he ever showed up, so that's the way it was. When I was 20 and he was 52 he called my mom on his death bed in the hospital suffering from cancer and heart disease and they had already amputated his legs and he was gone by the time she got there. Later we learned by going through his possessions that he held a modest job and enjoyed himself by painting, playing music, and going to jazz clubs. Wish I could have known Anthony better while he was around, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

im also in that age now, where my autns and uncles (and parents) are getting weak sick or dying (or dead). Its really a depressing time. And talking to my parents, its always about one of their friends buying the ticket. its really starting my process of thinking about death. about not being here. Welcome to the mid 40´ :( On the bright side grandkids in 10 years probably :) Circle of life and all that :) Geez i really should call my dad...

That is awful on so many levels. When I lost my brother it was also shockingly sudden-his heart stopped while he was alone in his apartment. Grandfather, pancreatic cancer that he found out about when he was at my house on thanksgiving. Grandmother, old age. My fathers second wife, aneurysm while alone.
Keep your friends and family close, and yes give many hugs.

They gave mom 2 months when she was diagnosed with cancer in 1990. Dad was rich and she lasted 9 as a test subject ot seems. She needed multiple times the lethal dose of morphine in the end to leviate the pain and had a huge abdominal growth.. started from somewhere and spread to most organs. It is like.. what can I say. I'll pray for Ron dude (just now) its no biggie to do that, each for his own. Ron is cool you say. If he knew you guys loved him that is all we can do as is. Best regards and condolences to you and your family man. Lets go and kill cancer.

My condolences on you and your family's loss. I too lost an uncle to cancer quite soon after he was diagnosed. Not as fast as six weeks but it was less than three months before he was gone. Is there any way to donate to the scholarship he established as a show of solidarity with the loss of a family member to cancer, which so many have been through?

Joe sorry about your loss but what passes me off is that in the 1930's Royal Rife had a cure for cancer and other conditions that proved 100% effective and because the AMA and drug companies could not make money out of it. I've lost a number of friends and relatives to this as well and it is criminal. Again my deepest condolences.

Oh, I am sorry! What a sad story. But I'm glad he had the chance to first take care of his own service and also set up that scholarship. That speaks highly to what kind of person he was.
We are all one breath from eternity, every moment of every day. The Bible says we die once, then comes judgment. Are we ready? We can either pay for our own sins, or trust in Christ's payment for them, on our behalf. Which shall it be?

I have been hearing your comments about cancer and your comments regarding diet. I really think you need to explore the connection. Cancer may be related to genetics but diet activates the genes, don't get distracted. You also seem to be listening to the wrong people on diet.
The colon cancer connection to red meat/heme iron and fat is not the only one
Sex organs: breast, testes, prostrate, ovaries and uterus are all influenced greatly by the amount of fiber and fat in the digestive system. A high fiber low fat diet will properly regulate the levels of sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone) through the elimination with the fiber and not being absorbed back into the body along with fat
Animal protein and it's amino acid profile that is similar to human flesh seem to be detected and activate the production of IGF-1 insulin like growth factor 1 which boosts growth of tissues including existing cancer. cancer is not uncommonly present, one statistic is that a person can expect to have cancer 7 times in their life, so strategies
excess protein containing the amino acid methionine and protein sources high in methionine like fish and chicken carry a lot of methionine, for the majority of cancers this is the only metabolically usable source of energy, while this is an essential amino acid there is no need to carry extra. this likely is another distinguishing factor in the growth of
antioxidants are mostly produced by plants and if you want to quench free radicals, they are the thing you ought to be eating.
Cancer is the #2 killer Heart disease is #1 and the same whole foods plant based diet that is good for one is good for the other, it is the only diet clinically shown to reverse heart disease. Anyone getting a stint electively is using the wrong approach. This same artery clogging disease affects the body all over in many common diseases
The same diet reverses type II diabetes, while eating carbs. type II diabetes is caused by fat in the muscle cells which is caused by eccess fat spilling into the blood, in skinny people this can be temporarily induced with large amounts of fat in the diet and with fat people this is easier to induce since their fat cells are constantly spilling fat back into the blood. fat in the muscle cells triggers the cell to not accept the insulin signal to accept sugar because it has fat to burn. if all cells are like this the sugar is going nowhere and stays in the blood. While people are confused by the fact that carbs spike blood sugar, they are only ever like 8 days from reversing diabetes. It is known that some people can eat carbs and people think they cannot, this is one of the reasons people think that some people need to eat differently. We are all one species with very little genetic diversity, differences are extremely minor. People say that anyone that says one diet fits all should not be listened to, and they basically negate the premise of studies and the notion that we should pay attention. Explanations may be complicated but the conclusion is not, eat plants
