- After 3 months of blood sweat and tears she is back as before the accident, possibly even better than before. Months of searching the internet for spares, getting to be on first name terms with the DHL delivery guys and I dont want to think about what the cost has been, even with the insurance payout. If I lived in the West, getting second hand parts is easy as you can buy a working ZZR for 1k. Here the cost of importing parts with customs duties and taxes means that I have probably spent as much on this bike as it would cost me to buy an H1. I would do it again. For me there is something about this bike that make it all worth while.
What a smile! I'm chuffed to bits for you mate! The cost of happiness between a man and his ZZR is priceless! History was written in fire and brimstone when they made these bikes and we are lucky enough to own one, through good and bad, for the long haul. ⚡⚡
Thanks mate. I am still smiling 🙂
Congratulations! She’s back!!
Well done, pleased you're pleased!
Awesome to see the Zed X11 running!
Hi mate, yep, still not stopped smiling 🙂
Im happy for you bud 😁 great to see the big girl back.
Thanks for the comment mate. Still a couple of little details to sort out but she is back.
Congratulations! Im a fan of your videos from covid time. I have the same motorbike as well
Congrats my friend its looking great, let the good times roll best wishes and greetings from Germany 🍀 🍀 🍀
Thanks mate. Yep, more miles to run and more smiles to come!
Made up for you. They become part of the family, I know my ZZR1100D1 is! Well done, looks great.
Thanks for the comment mate. I did sometimes wonder if I would get it done but all the hard work paid off. Cant wait to take it out for ride.
That's great its back .ride safe and have fun ..im getting my zx11 c model back on road soon
Thanks for the comment mate. All back to normal and the bike is better than ever. You must post a video when you get your bike on the road.
The beast is back. Your bike sounds so good and smooth compared to mine. Ride safe sir.
#ZZR1100D from PH.
Thanks for the comment mate. I am interested as to why your does not sound as good?
@@MichaelZZRrider Some rumbling sound. Probably the timing chain or tensioner. I already ordered new parts. Hoping it would solve my problem.
@@christianhopeborling8697 Mmm! Let us know what the outcome is mate.
Always good to see updates on your bike. I hope to continue with my own bike - EVENTUALLY, in a month or three.. Lots of "life-things" happened, inclusive of me busy with a CBR 919 and a ZX9B model.. (as well as customer's bikes. So, hopefully I will make updates again in a couple of months.
Hi mate, sounds like you have your hands full mate. I would like to get my hands on ZX9R but very rare here (Last saw one 5 years ago)
Hats off dude, well done😊. Lot of work gone into her. Smile on your face says it all. These zx are fantastic bikes...👍👍Zzr11 and 12 owner.
Thanks for the comments mate. Yes they indeed are.
Had a 96 zx11d. I put a Muzzy titanium 4 into exhaust which saved so much weight it was an incredible difference. Heli-Bars made it way more comfortable. I have no idea why I sold it. I start thinking I'm bored and as soon as I sell I regret it. Next bike I keep until I can't ride anymore. That's my goal anyway!
Hi mate, I am lucky as I find the ZZR comfortable in standard form. Once I get a bike I only sell it if I move country etc. I will not sell the 1100, 14R or the 12R until I can no longer ride, which I hope is not any time soon. :-)
Nice example. Lovely bikes. Owned all the zeds & still keep two 11s: the original ‘99 i honeymooned on with around 150k on it and another T plate ‘99. The higher mileage bike makes more power would you believe (& still sounds great). While i’m toying with the idea of parting with my zx12r, i will always keep the 1100. All the best! 👋
Sounds good mate. I have been trying to get a ZX12R for years but there are only couple in this country and the owners dont want to sell.
Millenium Falcon ... ya lo creo!!! Felicidades ✌️🫂🇦🇷
Hi mate, thanks for the comment. Yep, happy to have her back. 🙂
Glad she’s back! Looks lovely. I’ll look forward to the work on the other machine.
I need some advice. My bike was running a bit lumpy on tick over so I stripped the carbs and replaced the idle jets and some of the others. Put it all back together and it starts and idles much better. There has always been a bit of a flat spot under 6000rpm but after putting it back together it doesn’t really pull like it should till 8000rpm. The 6th gear roll on is pretty poor. I have no idea if I have the right jets in there now or even if the old ones were correct. The float heights are good. Is there a kit you could recommend for my year (1999)? Any suggestions?
Many Thanks
The standard size of the jets for your bike is: Cylinder 1+4 is 160. Cylinder 2+3 is 158. Main air jet is 70. Pilot jet is 38. Pilot Air Jet is 120. Starter Jet is 58. I am no expert, but I would probably start with using Dynajet. This is the link for your 1999 ZZR. www.dynojet.com/amfile/file/download/file/744/product/3333/
@@MichaelZZRrider really appreciate your help 👍🏼
@@MichaelZZRrider I ordered a dynojet kit. Cheers pal
Nice
Hi there I am Having issues with my zzr1100 D. it is cranking but not staring is it because of that so called ignition key resistor.
Hi mate, a common issue, which I and many owners have had is a battery problem. The bike turns over but will not fire. Checking the battery reveals that the voltage seems ok but the problem is " cranking power". If the battery spins the starter at even 10% slower the bike will not start. This has happened to me several times. I now use Hi Power Yuasa.
Thank you for the feedback, also the problem started when i road the bike for a few kilometer and it started to loose power and slowly die. Until it completely stop and it was cranking but no start. Checking for sparks there was none. fuel is good though
The ZZR does not have any electronic element to the ignition key mate.
i did some fair amount of research and came across some sort of resistor under the ignition switch. It is some what an old school immobilizer
So you remember what you😂.set yournfloats at. The shop manuals say 13mm and others say 17mm.
That is a huge difference.
@@ricardobooker1704 Hi mate, I have an expert who do my carbs and I asked him what they were set at. It turns out he does not measure the height in formal terms. He just measures in his way. Suffice to say my carbs are perfectly set up. Sorry I could not me more helpfull. The place to get the best answer is on Facebook ZZR 1100 Group.
Hello my friend. I owe a 1992 zx1100 and I neglected it for 16+ years . Have it running now but my gas tank is not that good. Do you know someone that can sell me one, can’t find it anywhere
Hi mate, where in the world do you live?
@@MichaelZZRrider I live in Florida, USA
@@rafaelsavinon7437 Hi mate, there are many for sale online but it depends on how much you want to pay. As you are in the States you should check out your local bime breakers/salvage as that would save the shipping costs compared to Europe or Japan. Are you sure your original tank cant be saved?
Hello, again. Yes I think my tank can be saved. It requires lots of work and $300.00 Thanks so much for your time. I just love your machines
Let me know how you get on with the bike mate. :-)
The millennium Fokker 😂
Ha! Ha! Ha! 🙂
how tall are you sir?
Hi mate, I am 177 or 5ft 9in. Only 29inch legs though! Ha! Ha! 😞
