Finding the Führerbunker : Hitler's Last Days (WW2 Documentary)

  • In Late April 1945 Adolf Hitler, his long-term partner Eva Braun and many high-ranking Nazis found themselves surrounded by soviet forces in Berlin.
    For Hitler, the final days of his life and the closing chapter of WW2 in Europe, would take place in a damp underground bunker, known today as the ‘Fuhrerbunker’, beneath the heart of the Third Reich.
    In this short documentary we use the latest technology and mapping to explore the story of those final days and attempt to pinpoint the precise location of the bunker, and the likely spot where Hitler and Eva Braun were buried on the 30th April 1945.

      I wonder what good Christianity was for all these Christian nations given over to barbarism. When the Nazis were in Tibet, they were also looking for an answer to a religion that would allow civilization to live in peace...
      I found out that there are some aliens that look like ants and they don't use money and everything they want to build they make it happen and they have probed the entire earth and they have a colossal mothership behind Saturn and they don't want to be invaders they want to be saviors and when the earth If it is on fire, they will take the earth and save it from human barbarism.

    Been there when the last remaining structure was still there - the year before the wall came down I was a 16 year old back packer around Europe and Germany. Went through the checkpoint in East Germany straight into west Berlin - Checkpoint Charlie where I was given a daily pass and was told I had to be back over by midnight. I knew where it was, and a guard was there but I told him I was Australian, gave him maybe $20-$50 US dollars and he let me walk into the entrance but NOT deep down. Took many pictures and brought back a nice chunk of concrete bunker rock. Been amazingly blessed. The next year the fucking wall came down. As all know flats for Berliners now cover the entire underground complex which is STILL underneath. Thanks for the video.

    This is fascinating and well done. I was surprised how cramped the bunker complex was, having always imagined a larger labyrinth of rooms and halls. The layout projected over the existing buildings and cars really brings this out. Too, I imagined an quiet bunker, never considering the constant noise made by the ventilation system and such. What a hopeless and depressing place.

    I lived and worked in West Berlin in the 80s, and would regularly walk along the Berlin Wall past the Brandenburg Gate as most Berliners would do. Even back then, there wasn't a confirmed location of the Führerbunker and even a mythical story that it was completely destroyed by the Russians and/or the East German authorities in the 1950s. It was rediscovered after the fall of the Berlin Wall. To think it was still there in the 80s and I was literally less than a hundred metres away blows my mind! Would I have filled in what was found in the 90s with concrete? I don't think I would. Its glossing over history. When you forget the past you ignore the future.

    I believe you made a minor mistake in identifying the spot where Hitler's and Eva Braun's bodies were burned inside a shell hole. Several photographs from the time point to the shell hole being closer to the emergency entrance -almost within a few meters of the structure's wall. In your depiction the spot is shown near the middle of the street which is too far away. I believe the correct shell hole spot based on photographs and your brilliant work here would be somewhere on the pavement and not near the middle of the road. Thanks for the wonderful work.

    • @mclovin8739
      @mclovin8739 10 месяцев назад

      I researched this a few years ago and came to the same exact location of where the bodies were burnt as in the video, however, we are assuming the photos are of the actual ditch used and not just a staged photo so there is still room for error.
      The story continues in 1970 about hitlers' remains, following statements by ex KGB I managed to pinpoint exactly where Hitlers remains were buried throughout the years and where his ashes were finally scattered.
      It's quite a fascinating history that is long forgotten, but it puts a final end to the whole saga.

    The secretary Traudl Jung is considered the last survivor from the bunker. She wrote down her memories of life in the bunker.
    However, the bunker was destroyed by order of the East German government. The ceiling was blown up and the bunker filled with earth. The walls were too solid to blast them.

    The main part of the bunker was pulled out of the ground and destroyed by the DDR in 1988. All that remains of the bunker proper is the floor slab. There are some neat pictures of the excavated and unearthed bunker, and of the interior, on Google images. The DDR dug out all the earth surrounding the bunker, in a huge excavation of the entire Postdamer Platz area, exposing the entire concrete structure, and systematically destroyed it. Nothing worthwhile is left.

      I totally agree that it should have been kept. But after the war - nazism had to die and the germans themselves didn't want to make a shrine of the bunker for future nazies to commemorate hitler and nazism. So in that sence, kind of understandable. But it could have been so cool to take a walk down those strairs and see the very room, in which Hitler and Braun too their own lives.

      A lot of historical structures used or built by the NAZIs were destroyed by a US program of destroying anything they thought was NAZI related in an attempt to remove NAZISM but IMHO they did the wrong thing as people should learn from this time in history. Having said that, a lot of these places could have become monuments to neo NAZIs, although there are plenty of buildings the NAZIs used or built or associated with NAZIs and there isn't an issue with neo NAZIs such as Hitlers birthplace.
