Its simplicity, warmth and wild beauty will surprise you! In Steni, Evoia will fill your heart with images, tastes and experiences.
The beautiful semi-mountainous village of Evia has a thousand inhabitants, built at an altitude of four hundred and fifty meters in the shadow of Mount Dirfis, which is the highest in Evia. It is located a stone's throw from the capital and you will need one and a half hours by car via the high bridge of Chalkis and Nea Artakis.
Through a snaking uphill road you will reach the scenic Steni, famous for its running waters, the plane trees, the chestnuts and the delicious meat, as it is characterized as a village and a cafeteria hangout!
The atmosphere in the village has a refreshing dew. The center of Steni is the paved square from which start narrow and slightly uphill paths that branch to the last end of the dense amphitheatric settlement, consisting of well-kept houses with red tiled roofs and flowering courtyards. Inside the square there are scenic taps with plenty of running water and special corners with beautiful views for photos.
Many great old-fashioned plane trees spread their shadow over the beautiful cafes and the traditional tavernas, where the laughter and chicks breaks nostrils! There are also many parks scattered throughout the village, recreation and relaxation areas for both young and old.
In the forest of Steni there are many paths, ideal for nature lovers, that will impress you. For the most part, these are easy walking routes that end up in crystal clear springs. The most adventurous and experienced you can visit the mountaineering shelter at one thousand meters that is located 8 km from the village. This leads to most paths but also to the sloping asphalt road as an alternative. The route from the village to the shelter is considered one of the most beautiful in Greece.
If you wish to stay overnight, the village has excellent and stylish hostels!
We calculated that the cost for two days in Steni is around 100 euros per person.

Mountain Biking in Evia
We’re off east now to Evia, on the other side of Central Greece. Apart from being Greece’s second biggest island but connected to the mainland by a bridge, Evia has another defining characteristic in being mountainous. So it’s time you hopped on a bike and headed for the hills.
Our proposed trail starts in the village of Steni, in the heart of Evia and just 1hr45mins from Athens. There are numerous paths up the slopes of Mt Dirfys, passing through a forest of pine, fir and chestnut trees before descending to Kampia village. You head up again, along Mt Olympus (not the one where the gods live), past little churches, rivers and gurgling brooks, before returning to Steni. You’ll have cycled 25km in 4hrs, with an elevation gain of more than 1,000m, so make sure you’re fit enough for the challenge.

Πολύ όμορφο τοπίο, αξίζει και για χειμωνιάτικες εξορμήσεις η Εύβοια, πολύ ωραία παραδοσιακά σπιτάκια και ξενώνες.

Δε μου αρέσει καθόλου το βίντεο. Έτσι όπως είναι γυρισμένο, το μάτι εστιάζει κυρίως στους υπότιτλους ξένους κ ελληνικούς. Οι υπότιτλοι φαίνονται πολύ περισσότερο απ'οτι η εικόνα, να μπορέσει να δει κάποιος πώς είναι η Στενή..

Υπερήφανη και νοσταλγία για το χωριό όπου μεγάλωσα... Ο μόνιμος προορισμός μου όποτε πηγαίνω Ελλάδα. Ερώτηση.... γιατί δεν υπάρχουν όλα τα μαγαζιά του χωριού μας και οι ξενοδοχειακές μονάδες;;
Σε ενα βιντεο με διάρκεια 4:40, ειναι δυσκολο να χωρέσει μια πληρης παρουσίαση. Ηδη οι πληροφοριες και τα πλανα ειναι αρκετα συμπυκνωμενα. Την επομενη φορα... 😊
Είχα συμμαθήτρια Θάνου στό Θηλέων Χαλκίδας και τό 1970_1975 πανέμορφη ή Εύβοια καί όλα τα χωριά της μπράβο
Επίσης υπάρχει και ένα εκκλησάκι μέσα σε βράχο η οποία είναι η Αγία Κυριακή 3 χιλιόμετρα πριν τη στενή που αξίζει να το επισκεφτείτε
