I’ve watched this movie like 3 times and always hated Kevin but for whatever reason, this tragically beautiful song over it made me realise it was actually about post natal depression and the impact it has on the child, who feels they’re so “unlovable” that it pushes them to the point Kevin was because they 1) maybe are jealous of the other kids from loving neurotypical homes or 2) just want to feel noticed in the world for something even if it’s a school shooting because they never felt acknowledged or appreciated for anything growing up with a mum who couldn’t give that to him because the of the VERY REAL effects of post natal depression. There is no enemy in this movie. It’s bittersweet but so fucking gut wrenching at the same time that only mother and son survived, but that hug with unspoken understanding she and Kevin had at the end made me cry harder than ever:

running Terranova Dont you feel that some people some time become a sort of habit, and in that kind of love you start behaving like a smoker who know he is damazing himself between the gap of two cigarattes, only to realize it once again between the next and then again in the next...... but while he is inhaling those drags of white breaths all that the atom and cells of his body are doing is relaxing in response, and thats the relaxations he is addicted to...May be that kind of love affair.

I love how the music you've added heightens the viewer's feelings of confusion towards Kevin as the movie ends; When he says that he isn't so sure about what his motives were, of what he wanted.
The movie allows for this very small window, in the duration of which we feel some sort of compassion, some relation with Kevin. It is this short time period that makes the movie truly remarkable. Great video!

I think it was supposed to be a visual representation of his stunted emotional development. He never fully bonded with her as an attachment figure so he regressed to behaving in childlike ways. I think that's also part of the reason he liked his sister.

My thoughts exactly. No other word for it but masterpiece!!! I llike how this band's music is enjoyed, embraced, and loved by people of all ages. Their music is unique, and all their songs have some kind of message. I'm not easily impressed by today's music, but these guys have a timeless sound. Their songs always have a deep, funky baseline...the beat of the drums, lyrics, and the melodic tune is flawless. And the way his voice flows....no, it MELTS into the music. Their music puts you into a dream state. It makes you cry, but there's a feeling that's almost euphoric and liberating at the same time. I like songs that address real issues and all the different emotions we feel and experiences we go through in this journey we call life
