That's what past history tells us. With the previous Trump tax cuts, the first thing the majority of companies did was stock buy backs, making themselves even more wealthy. Very few gave raises to their employees

    • @john_thorpe
      @john_thorpe День назад +37

And they don't pass any of it down to the workers, hire more, etc. Most just do stock buybacks to make their company look better for more profit for them to pocket. Take Walmart for example, a lot of their employees were kept under the full time hours needed for a lot of the benefits, and relying on the government (be it state or federal) to supplement their income with food stamps, medicaid, using the local police as their security, etc. (at least they did in the past, not sure if this practice is still be implemented or not). Even though their profits are $100 billion plus each year, do you think that giving them a tax cut will help the employees out? Trumplicans probably think it will. I've been recently saying that MAGAts will claim I have TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), well if seeing through his b.s. and understanding some of the things he said he was going to do will effect us negatively is having TDS, then I have TDS.

Good Lord, people. TARIFFS WILL NOT HURT OTHER COUNTRIES. They will come out of YOUR pocket; tax on tropical fruit, coffee, iPads and Apple Watches, on car parts, on tires, on maple syrup, and pretty much every other product you buy will DIRECTLY hurt you, the consumer. Also, those businesses? The ones you think will be 'protected' and 'build American?' - the semi-conductor ships in your Ford Gas Guzzler 6000 will go up, as will the steel, plastic, glass, aluminum, and hundreds of other materials used to make cars, planes, t-shirts, and roof shingles.
And your DELUSIONAL if you think that companies are going to take those tax breaks to 'invest' in themselves; they're gonna do more stock buy backs. I guarantee it. No price relief there.
TL;DR Congrats, America, you played yourself.

Don’t forget that his plan calls for 160 hr work MONTH not a 40 hr work week in calculating overtime… which would drastically reduce or eliminate overtime. So,no lie. No tax on overtime because they’re getting rid of it. You would think that when he told them he hated paying overtime they would’ve taken him seriously. The same holds true for no Social Security tax. No lie there either, they’re just not telling you that under his plans Social Security will be completely bankrupt within 10 years. And I like how everybody conveniently forgets that the reason Social Security is taxed in the first place is because of Ronald Reagan tax cuts back in the 80s significantly reducing the marginal tax rate on the wealthy. It ballooned the deficit so badly that they had to find new revenue and oh look we’ll just tax the retirees living on a fixed income instead of rolling back the steep tax cuts on the rich.

I've heard that too, about 160 hour per month. But that is still about 40 hours per week, 4 weeks in a month times 40 hours per week is 160 . There's probably some gimmick that I don't see. There's a lot of businesses that have already beat the standard payroll by hiring part time workers and working them as much as they want but never pay overtime because they aren't officially a full-time employee. They can dodge benefits too by doing this and keep the employee coming back with the empty promise of a full time employment with all the benefits. But if that worker even with legitimate reasons for being slightly tardy a few days a year, the employer can easily fire them no questions asked.

@ right, because so many “small businesses” were able to compete with Amazon and Walmart the last time they got a big fat tax break. How many small businesses do you think are going to be competitive when these tariffs hit ? Amazon and Walmart have the capital to withstand the coming supply chain apocalypse, these small businesses don’t have the money or infrastructure to buy and store millions of dollars worth of goods right now to stock up before the tariffs hit. History is cut and dry. Every Republican presidency since 1990 has ended their term in a recession, and they’ve all had the same exact economic policy, give corporations and themselves tax cuts, and then watch the economy collapse and blame it on government spending when they are the ones that have added more to the deficit over the past 30 years than the Democrats., A few years later everyone forgets, and people like you will try to convince yourselves and others that the concept of trickle down economics works for the working class. Took Reagan and Bush 12 years, then George W 8, and then Trump 4, so if the pattern holds, by the end of 2026 we should be in a recession, if not a depression. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, yet here we are.

@ I could say the same thing. We’re in a recession now. The inflation rate has gone down slightly, but that hasn’t gotten rid of the inflation already accrued. And ever since Obama, the Democrats’ idea of getting out of a recession is to spend money we don’t have on very bloated bureaucracy, expand the bloated bureaucracy, and print money like there’s no tomorrow. that spikes inflation.
The real solution is to cut out the bloat from the government, stop spending so much, allow more domestic oil production to lower shipping costs, and to reign in the corporate influence on our government. Both Democrats and Republicans are bought and paid for by the mega/multinational corporate lobbyists. The old GOP and the establishment Democrats are one and the same: sellouts who are sacrificing our country so they can stay rich and powerful.

When big company A refuses to lower prices medium company B with its new tax cuts is able to lower costs to be competitive with Company A. Company B takes a share of Company A's market and their profits lower from losing customers to company B. Company A doesn't like losing money so Company A lowers prices to try to take back customers from Company B. The same thing applies to Small Company C who is now able to take market share from Company B due to lower operation costs due to lower taxes.
Lower taxes let other companies have a chance to compete and competition lowers prices and makes goods better. When you raise taxes Small Company C cant afford to compete and goes out of business. Medium Company B might barely scrape by. Meanwhile Big Company A is so large that they can not only afford the higher taxes but are extremely happy because Company C and Company B are no longer a threat to them. Now suddenly there is no competition and there is only the new Mega Corp A. Now Mega Corp A can raise prices as high as they want and nobody can do anything about it. What is it that americans do not understand about Tariffs. It is not a tax on the country supplying the goods, its a tax that buyers and importers pay to bring these goods into your country. The importers and buyers then pass this cost on to you the consumer. What then happens is that because the goods have doubled in price , you, the consumer then buys said goods and when you buys said goods you then pay more local taxes to the government . It does not in any way affect the country of origin where the goods are made. Trump thinks that the american public should be making these goods in america, forgetting that the raw material for said goods still have to be bought from abroad. These raw mareials will of course be subject to a tarrif. So the poor consumer will still be paying through the nose for said goods regardless of where they are made, wake up america.

Most any clothes and shoes are all imported. Cellphones, flat screen tvs, most consumer electronics. A huge amount of manufacturing equipment like CNC machine tools, disposable tooling for those machines, raw materials that are used for the end product on these machines like steel, aluminum, most any of the high tech alloys that are used. Many companies utilize Chinese companies to build specialty tools for their manufacturing, like Tesla for example. All those robots and punch press dies and the presses to run them in and then there is the infamous Giga presses, a Chinese owned company made in Italy and these huge elaborate die casting dies that probably cost about a few million dollars to make, made in China. Everyone claims that Tesla is an American company but if it weren't for all the cheap equipment they buy from China those cars they make would probably cost twice as much.

As long as Trump doesn’t do anything stupid, which might be a lot to ask, like across-the-board tariffs or deporting a big chunk of our low-wage agriculture and construction workers, the economy is on track to be in pretty good shape. Honestly, it’d probably be better for us if he just lined his pockets and played golf for the next four years.

Vance will be running the show and with a 222 republican house to 213 dem house to a 53 senate in Republicans hands. All bets are off on a Republicans to reform social safety net programs and any program benefiting regular people. Regulations handicapped by captains of industry heading departments who enforce regulations against said industries. The republican congress and Vance are in charge. Every Republican wet dream you think was draconian will pass with little push back and may go to court or be allowed to move forward because of conservative court tilt. Trump and McConnel were able to fill over 100 vacancies left by Obama. They were able to stack the courts in a conservative direction for decades to come. Hillary Clinton's ego and Joe Biden's ego to not step aside and the wealthy elites at DNC and the media are complicit in this as well. As the gap between the richest among us will grow ever deeper those who have no voice, power, or lobbyists fighting for them will suffer the harshest. America will be tested to see how far back we will go in terms of progress and humanity. How far will we allow Republicans to go in terms of tearing apart every progress made under FDR and human rights. How far Republicans effort for revenge will go and how much pain and suffering they will bring. They'll quote God and say this is his will given to them to execute. We will be tested on how we will act as many as 50 million people voted to crush poor people to benefit the rich and to give their false idol power revenge no matter whom shall suffer. Be strong my fellow Americans who did their civic duty to vote to try to stop it. We are all in this together and let us do what we can to protect ourselves and fight against tyrannical overreach. Dark times are ahead but there's always a light at sunrise.

I watched the same show that said the exact thing you just said. Come up with something original. The Left has gone too woke, they pass BS policies without the consent of the people. The American people have spoken and are ready for a change. The election results were quite evident. In case you mental patients need a reminder, here you go! (High inflation, high crime, border security, woke agenda, etc.) I live in California and can honestly say that Newsom has ruined the most beautiful state in the Nation with his BS policies he has forced onto citizens.
AB-957 (Gender Identity, this bill helps children transition to another sex without the parents consent. This is absolutely child abuse for any parent or guardian who would even consider this. The adolescent brain doesn’t develop until the age of 25 or later. Whoever thinks this is ok should not have children, PERIOD)
SB-1174 (No Voter ID Required, there is only one reason why such a bill would even be considered and passed three weeks before an election such as this bill, and that is to cheat, PERIOD)
Proposition 47 (The Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act) This allows criminals to steal up to $950 and it’s considered a misdemeanor. Thank God that Prop 36 passed and will fix this. God bless and wake up or get the help you need.
