Julian, later called "the Apostate" by the church, was a Roman emperor between 361-363 A.D., and the last to have embraced ancient Greek philosophy, and tried to hold back the then-growing wave of Christianity. Nevertheless, he tried to establish true freedom of religion and beliefs int he Roman Empire. He also wrote a well known book "Τα Εις Εαυτόν" ("to my self" somehow translated). He died after being heavily injured in a battle with Persians, although speculations are that some Christian from his own army was the one who actually threw the spear on him - and not an enemy.

Also hoping you would react to the latest from Jari Wintersun - The dragon Song, really worth your attention. I believe it's his last demo release until the release of the package in august. Rock on and have a great weekend, hails from your norwegian brother 🇧🇻🤘

Spartacus = Kirk Douglas. Emperor Julian was - I think - the last roman emperor who was against Christianity.

I am not sure, but I think he was the Emperor who brought back the former religions or pagan religions if you will AFTER Christianity had already been declared (or was on it's way to be declared) as the Empire's religion by Constantine. So it was like a "time out" for Jesus and co. for the time of Julian's reign. After he died (or was even killed), they brought Christianity back of course. That's why he was the apostate. Similar to Pharao Akhenaten in Egypt, who threw out all other gods except the sun-god Ra (or Aten). That's why they call him the father of monotheism (one god) compared to polytheism (many gods) before him. And after his death, the old priests brought back the polytheistic belief system and even scraped and blotted out his name and that of his family from all stones and scrolls. His name became anathema in Egypt after that. And the same happened to Julian in a way.

😂😂 I love your reviews 🤘and the way you 2 get "ravings" on them is great 😅 even a brasilian football team gets in the middle and by the way, if the Omen is in town we have to meet him and kiss his hand 😈
Love the "Prostate" song 😅, very powerful but my favourite so far is "Saoirse" from this last album. 🤘💥

Actually, this sing in the album is more like... a bigger intro after the intro! The same riff and melody is found later in "Πυξ Λαξ Δαξ", in a more complete song form (which by the way is a masterpiece). Pity though, because with such a subject it could have been so much more!

Please do not place RC and SFU in the same sentence, paragraph or even book.

The second single (of SFU) is worse than the first one. The album will be crap like the previous one.

Rotting Christ is one of my favorite black/dark metal bands, but their last 2 works have become too repetitive and simple. I miss the strength of previous works. For me, they reached their highest peak with Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού. I agree with you that Sakis' voice is perfect for the narration and his lyrics are amazing. I hope there is more variety in Pro Xristou. If you want to listen to one of the greatest Greek black metal bands, I recommend you to listen to Varathron, their latest album of 2023, The Crimson Temple is incredible. Cheers !!!

seems like alot of their new stuff is like that.....they have always been awesome with build up and setting a atmosphere, but then drop some devestation, or unique and beautiful soaring guitar licks.
