I spent 10 days here a few years ago. The people were absolutely incredible. As a combat vet of Desert Storm, Egypt really changed my outlook on the Middle East. As you can imagine, my first experience in the middle east was not great. I'm glad I made this trip.

Dan, the west is a threat to the middle east way of life, not the other way around. I recommend you to come back to Egypt, I lived there almost 5 months and I realized it was the only place I felt free compared to all these restricted places in Europe

wow,it has seriously expanded,and went more upmarket,than when i was there in 1999.much smaller the,more hippies,divers etc and was cheap to stay there.looks a bit too commercial now

You'd want to be around Light House / Athanors Pizza. This is the main street that connects to the waterfront trail. Personally lived on Osman Ibn Affan Street. Hope this helps Noa
