I just rewatch DC these months because I forgot The story since I watched DC when I was a kid. And here I am, head over the heels for Ran.❤ She isn't just beautiful, but also has a pure heart and really strong too. No wonder why Shinichi got crazy over Ran.
I really love her character design, very kind, soft,empathetic, idealistic, scaredy cat, shy, patience, loving but also very fearsome, swift, intelligent, strong, hard, spontaneous ❤ perfect partner for Shinichi, they complement each other greatly. No women can wait that long for a guy in his disappearance
I love Ran Mouri, she's the best. Strong and fierce, but also compassionate and sweet. One of the most dangerous fighters in the series too, able to hold her own against terrorists, trained military personnel, killers and even members of the BO. Wich makes me wonder sometimes how in the name of everything holy can such a fighter be kidnapped so many times ? I mean, seriously, of the entire female roster of the series, she's the one who end up being kidnapped, taken hostage or others the most, above Haibara and Ayumi.. She's quite litteraly both the strong woman and the damsel in distress of the series. Mosts of the times, okay, she's drugged or tased before hand. But the times when the culprits are actually able to use chloroform on her (without even taking account of the bullshit of using that drug in a real kidnapping since it takes far more time to works than in the movies) and she can't defend herself while in some other times, she crush the kidnapper before he can even try... It's like the mangaka can't decide between making her an almost undefeatable tank or a fragile girl...
Yeah I think the problem is that most of kidnapping happens in fillers. It literally is not mangaka's fault, it's just people who write scenarios for fillers do not understand the character. Pisses me off every time I see that happen.
I could be completely wrong, but I also think that this could be to show Shinichis emotional side? To Show, that yes, he worries and is overprotective. Especially torwards her, because he loves her …
Exactly gentle strong sweet isnt that annoying and isn’t used for just fan service and she’s also a very useful character with her saving many other characters lifes, she’s an iconic character that I love
She's my favourite character ever cuz to see a woman like her who can be both fragile and kind person she's also very strong and Brave the difference in her both personalities and the changes in her facial expressions don't you think it's very interesting, I just admire her for that

Ran is amazing. But the producers make her always seem as if she was a helpless princess, who needs to be saved by her prince in shining armor. No matter how often she proves herself strong, in the next scene she's crying.

In every movie exept for "The azure pirate flag" The boys (Conan, Akai, Heiji) make the final punch, while the girls stay on the sideline, are saved or, even worse, don't know what's going on.
