Remember, even tough her quirk's a low-level telekinesis, ALL quirks can be trained and turned into powerful. And I don't expect she'll be strong as Endeavor, Bakugou, or Todoroki, but at least she could feel alive and useful, instead seeing her wasting her life doing nothing but eating, or feeling guilty for her life. Besides, she still in the prime of her life, she has a couple of years left until her 50's.

So she quitted, got retired, and gained weight caused for the depression, instead of feeling guilty of Deku not having a power. Plus, Deku's second/third suit was originally going to be Inko's (except the mask), but she'd inherit it to her son. However, some parts of the dropped idea (being widow because All For One) was reused for Nana Shimura's story.
