I bought both the Church & Cemetery Man on 4k from Severin. I watched Cemetery Man and while the story was dismall, the cinemtogrphy and tranfer to 4k were aboustlutley stunning/flawless. The packiging was awesome as well. Going to watch The Church tommorrow, hoping for a little more of a coherient story, but still amazing pratical effects and visuals with a great transfer.
HaHa if you want a cohesive story, Italian films might not be for you. I'm glad you appreciate the amazing cinematography and art direction. It was top notch, wasn't it?!!

Nice summary. The only problem for me with this release is that Severin have presented it 1.85:1, whereas previous releases, such as from Scorpion and Shameless, have (correctly, I understand) presented the film as 1.66:1, so there is quite a bit of information missing from the top/bottom of the Severin release. It otherwise looks quite good.
Severin isn't getting another dollar from me!!! I bought the blu ray and 4k version of the Changling, since it's one of my favorite films growing up, to make a long story short my friend bought the Second sight 4k limited version and I watched it to my dismay and anger that I didn't wait.... Severin's slip covers for both ate beautiful and tge extras are 5 stars, but the transfers are not as good as Second sights..... I'm not paying $60.00 plus any of his stuff until I get over the Changling....

@PlanetCHH I have six pre orders for Arrow limited edition (Carrie, Body Snathers, Conan 1 and 2, Hellraiser tetrology, Green box warrior which isn't a pre order coming tomorrow, House by the cemetery next week)sets, Invaders from Mars 4k, Darkman 4k, The other ls 4k and Waiting to pro order the Abyss.... I ordered five of those from you mentioning them.... I love your reviews and info, but I already have a Crack like Movie 4k addiction.... Yiur killing my pocket book, but seriously, thanks for doing what you do. Mid level media and Films at home ate good, but you're the best, because you remind me of myself and close friends growing up and you make it fun to relive these movies... God bless you brother and keep going and I'm praying g everyday we get the first three Nightmare on elm st. Atleast in 4k soon.... I wish Arrow or Second sight could do them...
C this is a terrific edition. They want 50 for it. Man i want it but that is getting kinda pricey.
visually these films are awsome while cranking some ol school 80s metal.😂 W.A.S.P ....maybe Motley Crue for nude scene's totally adds another layer of demonsion.💨

How weird christian, I've never seen this movie. I received my Severn 4K 3-disc set and I was watching tonight and Gloria's 4K and I said to myself holy shit this reminds me of John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness... can't believe you just said that I'm like yes you are correct

Love The Church. However I need to get my hands on Cemetery Man along with Raiders of the Living Dead which is just a fun bat shit zombie film, it's a great pairing with Video Dead.
Didn't like The church the first time I watched it. Liked it more the second time. Still, not a favorite. I do love, absolutely love the subway kill and the soundtrack.
As for "lots of nudity." Ya, typical italian horror movie,lol. The Italian and Spaniards weren't puritan at all when it came to the nudity...and that's another reason honest as to why 70's and 80's movies especially horror is better and the golden age - they had nudity and lots of sexuality....which you almost never ever see in a modern horror movie. Like the slasher X, which was a huge disappointment and the entire time I am going "They aren't gonna do it. They aren't gonna do it." if this was a 70's or even 80's movie, it would of been full of nudity and of course SHOT ON FILM. Although I liked the film on my second viewing, again not a film I'm gonna watch every so often. It's very low on my list of movies, I prefer Demons. Demons is great. I love Demons.
I don't really like The Church all that much. I bought the DVD years ago and was really hoping it would be good, but it was a disappointment for me. There are a few good scenes, but it's mostly boring and slow paced. Asia Argento's acting is terrible in this movie. They should have kept it as Demons 3 like it was intended, instead of changing the script and making it its own stand alone film. It falls flat in comparison to Demons and Demons 2.
