Interesting to see some green uniforms and shirt and tie officers still around? Is this because they simply haven't been changed yet or are they part of the current uniforms?
if you are speaking about olive green uniforms (before 2008), they are worn by different country officers (Belarus) who studied in our military university.

Frunze is a Romanian name , The Russian Military Accademy has a Romanian name :)
He was german as far as I remember.

This academy is named after Mikhail Frunze, a Soviet military statesman. By nationality, he was Moldovan.
There are many heroes in my country, Frunze is one of them. Or is he not black enough?

Despite the fact that the new uniforms have a really terrible cut which makes it look kind awkward on most soldiers (I suspect the uniforms were sized to fit a broad range of sizes rather than tailored made) I think they would benefit in look from a revised cap and jackboots. If the cap was shaped more like the Imperial Russian styled ones used in the green walk out uniforms (as seen in the parade rehearsals) I think it would be better.

Sad they are reviving shitty soviet style uniforms instead of imperial ones, either way god bless them.
The new uniforms were inspired by the uniforms of the Great Patriotic War, which were a mix of Imperial and contemporary fashion. If you look at the parade uniforms of the Kremlin Regiment, those are very Imperial looking. Perhaps the most Imperial and traditional uniforms of all the uniformed services in Russia.
Yes, the Kremlin Guards are in fact awesome. I still think the current uniforms are bland, we should be moving away from the Soviet past, and going back to our Russian roots. Its like saying fuck the rest of our military tradition and only use Soviet uniforms. The imperial officer uniforms were really awesome, maybe one day they'll come back.
If the most prominent and famous military victories and struggles were during the Imperial era, then yes, we would be seeing uniforms inspired by that era being used. But we are not, as Russia's biggest military trial was during the Great Patriotic War. Therefore they are rightfully based on the uniforms of that period.
Rustycaddy ignoring the Soviet past is just as foolish. Many in the armed forces were alive during the soviet era not imperial Russia.
