Here is a big problem that you will run into with in the lore is that their is very little that the fnaf lore community agrees on and that this lore video can be considered very much out of date due to it was made 2 years ago and within this series dates and people are rarely set in stone. Personally I would recommended Matpat new 4 part storyline sense it is one of the newer ones and shows his sources for his claims.

Part 2 is very good
Part 3 is……..ok? But it does have one Giagantic contradiction even matpat acknowledges
Part 4 is just um………….not good (and funny enough all the books that came out after it kinda completely destroyed it)

I think it's better to leave it after she finishes all the games as some sort of "finale", since I think this way she gets more of a "authentic" experience, and then she can just watch Matpat's video to wrap everything and the lore up in a nice little bow.

If you're worried about Hollywood messing up the FNAF movie, fear not! The creator himself wrote the story & the dialogue, and he's even a producer! He was pretty much on set everyday watching over his baby, lol.

The reason Golden Freddy scrashes your if you put 1987 in custom night is that back then, people thought there was an easter egg if you enter 1987. Scott got so fed up with it, he patched the game so Golden Freddy crashes your game if you do that. Also yes, that 1 Chica art is official in Ultimate Custom Night.
I'm pretty sure Golden Freddy's jumpscare crashes your game everytime you get it even before he patched in the 1987 Easter egg (because each Golden Freddy-like Easter egg crashes your game when you look at them too long.) He just added it because so many people believed it and passed it around.
There's nothing that screams family fun times like shady companies cutting corners and child murder. Strap yourself in, because the lore for this franchise starts off pretty simple. And then it just takes you on a WILD ride

I recommend watching matpat’s 4 part timeline for the lore. Sure he gets fanficy and headcanony at times but i still think it mostly does a good job summarizing the story.

I would absolutely NOT recommend starting with a MatPat episode. His personal opinions about the series very heavily flavor his theories, and his interpretations tend to have a lot of confirmation bias, conveniently "forgetting" any evidence that doesn't align with or contradicts the interpretation he's already decided on. That's not to say that _none_ of his theories have any merit, but they're much better watched _after_ you already know the lore; using them as your reference guide will give you a LOT of misconceptions about what is established canon and what is open to interpretation.
That blonde girl appears in a FNAF 6 minigame, but we consider her to be Susie, the one possessing Chica. Cassidy is said to have black hair (she's brown in the novels) and our main placeholder as from the Survival Logbook on a page with the Puppet holding a cake.
Foxy's jumpscare always reminds me of someone rushing in a panic to make a train, like there's a reduced schedule & he just wants to get home. Also, I don't think I've heard the Foxy damage theory like you said before, but I like it. It makes sense.
EDIT: Along with Sagan Hawkes & MatPat's histories/theories, I also wanna recommend a couple that I found when filling in the gaps on FNAF info - Thafnine's "The World of Five Nights at Freddy's" and Bumbles McFumbles's "Jack Complains About the FNAF Storyline". They're both more critical & humorous than the others, but they're pretty entertaining. Thaf's is also a 4-hour epic, but it does cover the first 6 games as well as Chipper & Sons and a fangame lightning round. But in both cases, I'd wait till you get more blind plays under your belt before approaching them because otherwise you'll have too much stuff spoiled.
In regards to the songs he played for each band member, this was actually a cut feature of the VR game where you'd be able to watch a stage show of the original animatronics. For whatever reason Scott was not happy with how it turned out (I believe specifically the voices?) so it was removed like a few days before release. So yeah, when you get to Fnaf: Help Wanted, don't get confused by the Showtime button that literally does nothing in the game XD
A few people got copies of the game before this was removed so there are a couple clips of Showtime up on RUclips if you ever want to watch the full thing.
I always love seeing people react to these games for the first time. I grew up with these games so seeing people reacting to this stuff for the first time is almost like re-living the moment that I first discovered the games. Also fun fact, the movie was written by Scott Cawthon himself; so I have no doubt that it will be a faithful adaptation
I love seeing them as well! I've only been in the fandom since last fall and ending up leaving it for a bit because I kept seeing people complain about new fans and gate keeping the movie so seeing these videos make me super happy! Plus I think old fans and new fans alike can have the nostalgia of playing or watching the game for the first time!

I’ll never forget the first time I played FNAF 1. I was upset due to breakup and along it came. The game I didn’t know I needed. I played it and the jumpscare was so scary that I found a new best friend. We got married and had good time together.

I will say that I think it's fine if you wanna look up the lore and story of this franchise before jumping into more games. I would recommend MatPat's ultimate timeline videos as they explain the lore as a narrative story, rather than just fact thrown after fact. It's a very "easy" way to get into the basic story, especially if you haven't been part of the community and following the lore and how it developed since the beginning.
To us veterans, FNaF lore is as "basic" as it can get at this point, since we've been there as it was literally written. So for a newcomer all the information that this franchise holds might be a bit overwhelming if you were to jump into a more modern theory video.
Heck if you are up for it just watch through all of MatPat's FNaF theories. Sure it's a lot but going through them will give a sort of understanding to how the franchise has changed and been shaped over almost a decade at this point.
For those complaining that the main character`s identity was changed in The Film, in the first game Mike Schmidt wasn`t thought of as an alias for Michael Afton, he was retconned to be an Afton by Scott in "Sister Location" after William became solidified as the overarching antagonist of the franchise, the eternal evil and the murderer of the souls of the Missing Children inside the animatronics.

It's very cool to watch people unfamiliar with the franchise up to this point check everything out for the first time.
As another commenter pointed out, Sagan Hawkes retrospectives are a ton of fun to check out, especially since SuperHorrorBro unfortunately only made complete history videos for FNaF 1 to 3. Though I highly recommend 'FNAF: Everything You Need To Know (ft. MatPat)' made by FootofaFerret - it's the video Blaze reacted to after checking out the trailers and it's a nice quick overview of all the lore (from FNaF 1 up to the VR game) that doesn't get too bogged down in details, which is good to have since the timeline can be a lot to process and remember if you check out separate videos for every game.
In any case, looking forward to seeing you diving deeper down the FNaF rabbithole if you choose to do so, hope you have fun.

the names of the ghosts possessing each animatronic have actually been revealed through the games and books. Here they are btw:
Susie - Chica (confirmed to be "the first" victim)
Gabriel - Freddy
Fritz - Foxy (shares a name with Fritz Smith, a secuarity gaurd in fnaf 2)
Jeremy - Bonnie (shares a name with several other characters named Jeremy, including Jeremy Fitzgerald, a secuarity gaurd in fnaf 2)
Cassidy - Golden Freddy (implied to be the most vengful of the group, often referred to as "the one you should not have killed" (said to William afton). Doesn't always appear with this name accross the fnaf universe, as this character is refferred to as Micheal Brooks in the novels.)
On a sidenote regarding the bite of '87, while i do believe G. Freddy was originally planned to be the one who caused the bite back when fnaf 1 came out, this seemed to have changed along the way. So now a different character likely caused it. The fandom mostly agrees on who did it, though there are some theories out there which blame other characters. I won't go into detail though, as this is a plot aspect explored in further games. Though know that this happens a lot. one fnaf game's lore might be changed a bit in one of the next instalments, which makes this entire frenchise so hard to keep up with.

Id say these ghosts are like classic japanese ghosts from the ring or the grudge - It's blind revenge. A victim that attacks anyone since they can't tell who their enemy is
i recommend watching "everything you need to know about fnaf" by footofaferret and matpat! it may be slightly outdated but it gives the general idea of the story up until security breach :)

@@Masterchris-tt5tz yeah but it would be better to start off with the other one first, since it gives you more of a baseline. matpats timeline mainly just fills in details, expecting you to at least know some of the base story. so i believe watching this first would be better, then moving onto the timeline
In modern Pokémon games, Pokémon have a 1 in 4096 chance of being shiny by default iirc. Golden Freddy is 1 in 100k. (I'm not sure if that chance applies every time you check the cam).
So yeah the fact that Mark got him to show up by accident in one of the LP series that basically made FNAF as a franchise back then is crazy.
I like it that Weeby react to one of my other favorite youtuber SBR. He such a great guy and his analisys video about horror game is top tier. He didn't critizise the game, he just play it for fun. Respect to you Mike.

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES!! I found your channel not too long ago and I'm loving your FNAF reactions (I will check out more of your videos as well), you just got yourself a new subscriber- also just like the others said the lore of Five Nights at Freddy's is barely shown and when it is many people don't really get it. I would recommend MatPat's 4 video timeline because it's newer and it'll give you all of the lore without really spoiling any of the games or any of the gameplay (I mean it does show a little bit but not much) plus he describes it better, FNAF definitely has one of my favorite story's/lore because it's INSANE! But I think my favorite (or again at least one of my other favorites) is Doki Doki Literature Club- I think you would really enjoy it if you want to play it, it's free on PC and then pretty cheap on the console. And if you don't want to definitely check out (again) MatPat's theories on them as well because HOLY COW it's CRAZY- you think it's a cute little dating game but oh god no it's the complete opposite (I'm just going to warn you if you are not in the best state right now maybe not because it could really mess you up) but again like I said that game is AMAZING you should check it out soon! Anyways I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy!

I would also recommend watching "The entire history of FNAF" by FuhNaff, its a long but a really good and informative video on the series itself and how it grew to be so massive over the years
"How did they put kids into the bodies of the animatronics?" It`s a long story involving William Afton, a substance called Remnant and lots of Faz-goo.
I highly recomend a video by Hyper Droid which explains the whole fnaf lore in great detail. Also the bite of 87 is a different accident to that what happened because of golden freddy. This was the bite of 83.
Welp next up, matpat's 4 part ultimate fnaf timeline series, that might burst ur brains of confusion.

Even though there might be certain points that the community doesn't agree with, and given you said you want to play the games and then backtrack for the lore, I would still easily recommend FootofaFerret's everything you need to know about FNAF featuring MatPat. I say the broad strokes of the story and what happened to the characters still hold up, it's a fun summary on the story before Security Breach, and I've been curious to see your reaction ever since I watched SHSLBlaze react to and enjoy it!

@32:34 But yet... this is actually not true. Freddy will only move from his spot next to your office when you put the camera down. So what players discovered is that you keep the door OPEN, buzz the light to check for Chica, and IF you're about to pull your camera up, THEN you shut the door. Pull camera up to check on Foxy, then put the camera down. Freddy can't move into your office because the door is closed, then you open the door until the next time you need to look at the camera again. so bascially the whole routine is buzz the left door to check for Bonnie, then buzz the right door to check for Chica, close the right door to block Freddy, and look at Foxy, put the camera down, and open the door. Rinse, repeat. Close either door if Bonnie/Chica show up or if Foxy runs.
Also, it is interesting to note, you mentioned that you got "the good ending" even though the bad ending was playing. If you hit 6AM at ANY time at all, the game will instantly zip to the 6AM cutscene which triggers the Night Complete event. This includes Freddy playing his song which you saw, if Foxy's running down the hallway, AND if timed precisely right, can also happen *in the middle of a jumpscare.* Each jumpscare is only 1-2 seconds long, so it would have to be timed JUST right, but it can happen. Also, a youtuber (DJSterf) managed to complete Night 3 by only touching the left door and nothing else. No cams, no lights, no right door. This is because Freddy and Chica won't jumpscare you until you lift the camera. So if you never lift your camera, Freddy and Chica will never jump you. The only thing that remains, is that you must keep Bonnie and Foxy out of your office. This is done by closing the door during all possible times they could attempt to enter your office.

Just subscribed! I love how you plan on watching the lore as you play each game rather than just watching the current lore in 2023. I would love to see you watch all MatPats theories in order through his playlist as you play each game. The original theories are way off to what we know today, but I think it would be cool for you to see how the story evolved just like the original 2014 fans. This could be too overwhelming for you though in which case I understand. If this style is something you want to try though I would recommend MatPat's playlist or at least videos uploaded before the release date of your next game, since even this video introduced information from later sources. For example the name William Afton wasn't known until the release of a 2016 book called the Silver Eyes. Before 2016 the community refered to him as just the "Purple Guy" due to the color of his character sprite in FNAF 2, 3, and 4

i fully recommend FuhNaff's 'Entire history of FNAF' video, because it covers everything about about the creation of the games, every teaser every shown on scotts old website, all the setbacks and critisism that scott faced, looks at scotts life, other projects and much more. it is less of a lore video and more an essay. it was such an amazing watch

Pizzeria Simulator being important was a surprise to everyone. Supposedly the dev claimed he was having trouble with the sixth game, and just threw pizza sim together to tide people over, then it turned out to be the actual full game.
Fun fact: it actually is possible to live without your frontal lobe. In fact, it's happened before a few times in the past! I recommend looking into it :D

The fan theories about FNAF is probably the biggest contributor to the game's relevance for over 8 years. If you want a full speculative timeline of lore, you can always watch Game Theory's Ultimate FNAF Timeline that came out in 4 parts this year, but take it with a grain of salt and be open to alternative theories that you might find online. That's the way this game's lore works lol you just gotta find a theory that you like the most and defend it with your life because of how self-contradictory it gets. And you're spot on about the children suffering in there; the consensus in the fandom is that the animatronics are aggressive at night because the ghosts haunting them are perpetually suffering

He made a mistake in the Easter eggs section; all the animatronics staring at the camera on the show stage was in the trailer, but no code exists for it to occur in game. Though people swear up and down that they’ve seen it, it actually doesn’t happen.

The way the movement works is pretty much every second they do a check and if they succeed, then they move, but they can also fail, and one specific thing with the cameras, regardless of what camera your bond, whenever foxy doesn't check to go to his next phase of movement of peaking out of pirates Cove every single time you're on the camera he will always fail
and I'm pretty sure this is also how the golden Freddy Easter egg functions
FNAF used to be simply “survive haunted pizzeria where 5 children were murdered” it’s so simple. I gave up keeping up with the lore once every little character started getting names because it’s convoluted enough, now you’re suggesting it’s important to differentiate between every minor character? 😭

Quite a handy video for the movie release because so much was going on in that trailer, I had no idea/did not remember what the lore of the games were all about.
Tbh, the movie will likely be different from the game lore, similarly like how the books’ lore is different from the game lore. You should probably see the game universe, the book universe and the movie universe as 3 separate universes which share similar events and characters. A great example as to why the games and the movie likely do not happen in the same universe would be the fact that Micheal in the movie has a living younger sister, and isn’t Williams son. While in the games his younger siste ris long gone and he is William’s son.
However, i do think the movies will, similarly to the books, have the purpose of explaining and exploring certain concepts which the games do not touch upon or imply at most. (Like Gregory being a robot, or the murders happening in 1985. Both got confirmed in the books, but were at most implied in the games.)
