@MEstylz first of all, it was provoked to do so for 8 years, if not the better part of 3 decades -- but we can't have that conversation. Secondly, the West has done more than enough to "help" Ukraine over the past 3 decades and especially since 2014. Finally, it's not my problem: the West shouldn't have anything to do with that situation to begin with. Any US or Western intervention there is inappropriate, unwarranted, and only serves to goad Moscow into being more belligerent. Frankly, I don't care if they push into the Baltics and Poland and beyond since these countries have acted like entitled revanchist delusional children in recent years. Keep the US out of any more wars. Period.

Its a stupid idea if you think they can. Its easy to take out all your equipment if you win. Not when you're holding the enemy at bay,. or losing. By definition you're getting out in a rush. Look at Dunkirk in 1940. like Vietnam, as clear & obvious examples.

@@dartskihutch4033 It was a 20 year war. It was always going to be messy whoever the president was. Mind you that the withdrawal was done three months into the Biden administration. That didn't help either.
What also made it worse was that Trump's administration denied access to the Biden's team during the transition period which would've been critical for operations like this withdrawal. Not to mention the piss poor negotiation that Trump did with the Taliban to withdraw from Afghanistan was what made the messy situation became an impossible one. The US military did not want to leave anything behind, but during a freakin evacuation there was simply no time to take back equipment that has simply become obsolete anyway, and these jokers totally forgot that the fact Marines were ordered to destroy and disable as much of the equipment as possible which they did. Even the BlackHawks were sabotaged beyond repair and the Taliban ended up crashing them, killing several of their own guys, add to this without a steady stream of replacement parts they are not getting those back in the air again compared to all the soviet equipment which is in much greater abundance...
I dont think any of these people have actually looked at photos of the Taliban. How broken their equipment is, how poorly they are trained... However, its taking control of the industrial revolution reduced democracy by driving out the household-level socialism of family enterprises.
