Russell hi! I'm from Russia, Kazan, Tatarstan. This city is 700 km away from Moscow. And it is really a very beautiful city, comfortable and cozy. I recently started watching your videos and it's really interesting to see our country from a foreigner's point of view and I like your great presentation, thank you. I had a thought that it would be nice if you could show viewers other cities of Russia, not only the capital. For example, Kazan has almost everything that is available in Moscow, but it is also cheaper by about 5-10%. Also, our city has a unique national history, it is over 1000 years old, many nationalities live here, especially Tatars. You can get to know our culture, dishes and wonderful people. Also at the moment we are hosting the first ever international "Future Games", I recommend you to take a look at it! Thank you for the great content and I wish you continued growth!

I have to say as an American I was quite enthused by the shopping cart escalator. The widespread criticism of tucker’s video was a statistic that Russians spend 30% of their income on food because income is that low. Curious if by your experience this is accurate? The American statistic that was used in comparison was 10%, which I feel is too low a % for my area. My goodness I pay at minimum $6 for a loaf of bread and $8 for a dozen eggs. Food prices in America have gone way up in the last 2 years.
Make a video from Foodcity (Фудсити). This is a place in Moscow where you can buy EVERYTHING from any country in the world. Even from Afghanistan, Syria, Iran and many others.

Yeah, funny you mention the car park rides on them, one of my first ever jobs was a trolly collector in a shopping center in Australia. I did my fair share of riding on them when no one was around. You almost do need a map the first time you go to one of these stores. More of a reason I prefer my local Globus Hypermarket, as its only one level. But still huge inside.

I call them shopping cart or buggy (Southern USA thing) interchangeably. I would guess that Tucker came to this store because it was the closest thing to a Walmart in Russia vs US. No, WC in the parking lot, some grocery stores still don't have them. About Gagarin Tucker probably didn't know who he was. We have shopping carts where the wheels go in every direction and they certainly don't lock in place.
Some in Australia even have the lazy wheel and they want to go everywhere. I wonder if his minders even told him about the huge statue near by the shopping center.

As a Russian, it’s true about 30%, unfortunately

@TravellingwithRussell Interesting to see your view of the same place Tucker Carlson visited! We have big and also small, neighbourhood versions of Auchan and Carrefour in Spain too. Do they do big, (for example, 3x2 offers) bulk deals there too? We find it's sometimes "problematic" when you really only want/need one, but you also want a good deal!! I used to love Ashan but hate now because I spend too much there)))
Now when I go to Russia I shop for my groceries in a small supermarket which is on the 1st floor of my apartment building. The accortment there is more than acceptable . Are there grocery stores in Moscow open 24/7?
There are, some of these Hypermarkets are actually 24/7. This place is open around the clock. ruclips.net/video/X7MgahnaPI8/видео.html All other smaller regular supermarkets are open from 10am til 10pm.
Moscow is a European city. There are multi-storey buildings in the city, but the height of the buildings is higher than in Europe. It doesn't look like California or Texas at all, there are no buildings consisting of 1 or 3 floors. The average height of buildings in the city is 12 floors. you can view panoramas in Google maps
There are a lot of shops working around the clock. 2801 right now according to Google maps (it's 5:47 a.m. in Moscow right now). Yes, more than a thousand, I was not mistaken. As a rule, you can walk to the nearest store within 10 minutes on foot at night, by car 1 minute.
In Russia, cities have a very high population density per 1 hectare (square kilometer or mile). Russell correctly said in this video that he has 7 smaller supermarkets within a 10-minute walk from the house where he lives. This is in demand, 6 out of 7 stores close at night, 1 is open. Competition. Alcohol is not sold at night. Usually all shops close at 10 or 11 p.m.

I call them shopping cart or buggy (Southern USA thing) interchangeably. I would guess that Tucker came to this store because it was the closest thing to a Walmart in Russia vs US. I think that is so those watching can know that Russia isn't the same as 1970 USSR with long lines waiting for food or the 3rd world poor it is made out to be by the govt.
lines waiting for bread is since 1991 - freedom and democracy

In our city, a meat processing plant worked day and night, but everything flew to the Western USSR (Baltic) and Eastern Europe. During Prohibition, there were several places to sell alcohol, and there were always lines and fights. Five monster factories produce soap for the entire USSR, but suddenly three out of five stop for major (i.e. planned) repairs - as a result, the entire country has soap on coupons. It was the 80s.

Auchan is a chic store 👍
It's pretty impressive for sure. The sheer size of the place when you first walk in.
@@TravellingwithRussell Russell I have an idea for a video : 70 % of the Russian population cooks at home , why don't you make a video where you cook something ❔
This super market is huge, nothing like it in Australia. By looking at it I think we in Australia way behind Europe even Russia after two years of sanctions.
It is cheap as well, one loaf of bread in Coles super market is more than five dollars while in Russia less than 50 cents the baguette is cheap as well four price of one in Sydney.
В прошлом году в России было собрано 92,8 миллиона тонн пшеницы. Можем себе позволить хлеб по такой низкой цене 😊
И спасибо за санкции, они помогают развивать собственное производство ❤
All about priorities.
Ich glaube, oder es sieht so aus, dass wir in Deutschland mehr unter Sanktionen leiden
Be serious, Australian are way bigger than most of Europe's on average and there are also huge ones too. Australia also has excellent food. That supermarket is for the richest class of people in the richest city in Russia. The median monthly income in Russia is roughly 94,900 RUB (approximately USD 1,130). You can't compare that to Sydney.
Many people have not spent time shopping for groceries and much more in stores for a long time; we have very well developed marketplaces with free delivery. If you order for a week, it will take about two hours and they will deliver 5 bags of groceries; if you order something small for breakfast, then it will take about 20 minutes. You usually go to such shopping centers because you have nothing to do.
Same bread we pay here in California $7.50 used to be $5 n last year.
wow !!! You struggle to pay more than $1 or 100 rubles for a loaf here.
queues for bread imagine
But you also have to look at how little Russian's get paid vs us Westerner's. I get paid $25 an Hour, and that's in Georgia one of the lower paid states.. I work 3 12 hour shifts per week totaling 36 hours and in just one day I make more than Russian's make in an entire week. So technically it's worse in Russia you have to work more for the same product per hour you are paid.
@@noriceformeplz😂yeah USA, USA, USA!..😂😂 best country on earth...to fools who have never left it😂😂
@@TimeToTravel-u2x Just stating to the OP why our products are more.. when we make more of course our products are "higher".. Never once said USA is the best country on earth.. as that would belong to Japan.
He shopped in the capital, he shopped in a French established company, He didn`t shop with the average Russian`s paycheck. The dude has to have his hand in Putin`s propaganda machine`s bank account. The guy jumped in with both feet so he is doubling down, just like Putin is.
In Missouri we call them shopping carts or my grandma would call them shopping buggies
I love that name your grandma uses. ))))
Amazing how the ordinary person is the same across the globe. ❤❤
Exquisite tour of the market.
Wow, Thank you.
Hello from England 🏴 we call them trolleys just as you do in Australia 🇦🇺 😊
Thanks!!! Urrarrr. Same, Same. Us Commonwealth countries have to stick together.
Yes, and every drunk teenager in the UK has been for a ride in one, which sometimes results in a trip to the A&E!
