I also like how when busking etc you keep things always a little punk, and not just Taylor swift songs, I’m kinda the same way with soul/funk, while also playing pop covers! Cool you seem to keep your core identity as a musician as well as play for the people
I just recently started busking and it is the best decision I ever made. I am still scared af to do it but when I get going all the worries fade away :) I love the content dude, keep up the grind!

Ngl. I love having fans. Sometimes it's time consuming trying to be the musician that answers everyone. But it's nice having a local following and a more diverse one. Plus it helps maintain an average balance when you have fans. As they will pay you just for being in the same place same time.
That's awesome man! It's definitely very affirming to have people who take the time to talk/comment/get to know you all because of the music you play! 😃 busking again, it's great for building a 'fanbase' - having a daily audience for your music isn't something many musicians have if they're not playing on the street 🙌

I’m thinking about starting all this (a lot of busking!) in NYC some time soon, fantastic video, inspiring to see such a detailed take on this life! Keep it up homie🤘
@@AugustRadioProject would love to go busk in UK/EU someday! More my vibe the US is insane. But I’m a western American, hard to live out there legally, but I plan on busking travel like yourself 🤘👍👍
Very good informative video as ever but the incidental music is way too loud. Can't hear you speak hardly but the music is deafening. Apart from that great video.
Hey man! Thanks for you effort and time making this, the video is so helpful, to be honest since I found your videos you have inspired me to actually come out of my comfort zone and start doing what I love. I am only starting my career as a musician and I would definitely love some more videos about this and how to make a living as a musician. I'm really thinking about start doing some busking too. Would be awesome to have the video about "bedroom beginner to playing out on the streets"
That’s honestly so rad to hear!! It’s exactly the intention behind making these videos so I appreciate you commenting to let me know so much 😃🙌🏻 I highly recommend giving busking a go, it’s so fulfilling on so many levels! I’m stoked you’re on board for a bedroom to busker style thing. A friend of mine called it “couch to busker” in reference to couch to 5k 🤣✌🏻
Another quality helpful video pal. Managed to get out and do my very first busk on Saturday, just me and an acoustic guitar!, passers by were real nice and also pretty generous too, I was shocked to be honest. It all felt like an out of body experience though if that even makes any sense, ah well, the leap has been made (well small step..!)
That's so rad to hear dude! It's funny you say about it feeling 'out of body' - I totally get that! It can definitely feel surreal but that's the magic right! 🙌 It's people appreciating the magic of live music and you get to see it happen in real time! 😃SO cool!!
My busking journey began within the pandemic so I can't really comment. It's a great question though - I'll be sure to ask a few fellow buskers who have been doing this a while as I'm definitely intrigued to know 😃🙌
Will you make a video about your busking equipment and how you set up? You wheel a dolly / cart with guitar & amp, then your backpack has cables, etc.? You open your case and use a bungee cord to attach it to the dolly? Can you please go through all the steps? Also, do you play Wagon Wheel? Look at Darius Rucker’s version. Easy to play and sing. G D Em C 🎸🎶🎤🎼
Yes, I can do this - no problem!! It's actually a really cool video idea! I also love Darius Rucker, I'll check out his version of Wagon Wheel and maybe it'll make its way into the set 😃🙌
Hey man, haven't commented a couple of video's but i'm always watching every monday. Your video's come out during my daytime job so i can watch them during my lunch. Interesting video dude. Quick question.. what made you make the jump of leaving a steady salary, to this? I’d love to see more videos on the same topic.. but the early stages. Early experiences etc Cheers man ,
It's long story and I'm sure I'll make a proper video about it at some point! I quit the day job back in 2020 without any real plan but it was a 'now or never' kinda moment! I discovered busking about a year after quitting, initially it was something I was going to do whilst I figured "it" out but I soon discovered other musicians who were making a full-time living off street music. I decided to lean into it and here I am! 🙌😃 I'll plan a video that goes into more detail - coming soon ☮
Great video Ben. Enjoying your content. What you never mention though which is what stops me from venture too far out from my home city of Stoke-on-Trent, are train prices. Do you have some kind of rail card or what do you do here as you have to factor that into your overall earnings eh!
Thank you Simon 🙌🏻😃 you make a good point, maybe I’ll start adding them in again (I actually did to begin with in the earlier videos) - I have a railcard which significantly reduces the price. Most of the trains I take vary from £3.80 - £13 per ticket, very very rarely is it any more than that 🙌🏻 I always factor train fare into the donation total and I also put them as expenses for tax 😎
I know a fair few buskers that do and they seem to do just fine with it 😃 it could be great to do to build confidence and eventually maybe you’ll incorporate your guitar 🙌🏻
