Mark, what a great lesson, especially for beginners. I find myself playing mostly on the A and E string because I like the fatter tone of those strings. And E on the 7th fret of the A string, just sounds better than the 2nd fret of the D string. Of course, as you say, you have play where the bass line and fingering dictates. I enjoyed this one.
“Be inquisitive”, one of the keys to developing your musicianship. I agree and feel good about myself that I am already doing these things. I see tabs sometimes and as I’m working through them, I wonder to myself why not just play this or that instead of what they have listed? Usually it comes down to positioning and playability. Good basic instruction Mark.
The Groove trainer course is great - some basic riffs but lots of options for embellishing them either with articulations or introducing quick skips between notes. Even the more straight forward grooves can be made challenging (and improve my time keeping) by playing them slow to a metronome with the click playing once per bar e.g. just on the 2 or on one of the "ands". Just so many ways to extend the course beyond just the excellent instruction.
Great lesson and I'm looking forward to the course being available. However the audio sounded a like it was clipping in places, especially around 3:40, and I don't think it was a distortion pedal.
As I am watching Your lessons I begining to think What kind of a job You usually do... Becouse You do not post Albums or titles of tracks are U in as a bass player... Yeah Of corse You make a point as a great teacher No wonder becouse You are ! But I would like to see You in person... Great job
Be inquisitive!!! the final advice. I will keep that in mind
Sweet. Thanx Mark. Bass Groove Basics: Fingering, Frets and Positions (tutorial) has been interesting

Thank you Mark for always bringing new and interesting materials!

Great lesson, as usual.
Pretty cool stuff
Even when you just play simple riffs like at 3:45. It always sounds cool. I want to be you when I grow up.
Well I know my next course when my Bassic Fundamentals is complete 👍🏻
Excellent!

It was a mistake because I’d mixed the fully encoded mp4 (course video) with the new intro video.
