That's the reason why Udit Narayan is considered a better singer than Kumar Sanu. Even Udit Narayan got dominated by Amit Kumar in the song 'Aaya main aaya' (Movie: Mahasangram). There are two versions of 'Kudrat ka nazara' song, one sung by Sanu (together with Amit and Asha ji), and another version sung by Udit Narayan (again together with Amit and Asha Ji). Sanu's version was dropped out from the film later, and Udit's version was taken and retained in the film. Initially recorded with Sanu, his version was taken off because he (our so called king of 90's) got overshadowed and dominated by Amit Kumar (very underrated) in the song. Although Sanu was the main voice in this song and sang the significant part of the song, he got overshadowed by the small cameo of Amit Kumar. Sanu was completely nasal and he didn't match up the pace of the song. His soft nasal voice got overshadowed by the powerful masculine voice of Amit Kumar. So, Udit Narayan was called up to sing this song and his sweet fresh voice went well with Amit Kumar's powerful voice. That's the reason why Udit Narayan is considered a better singer than Kumar Sanu. Even Udit Narayan got dominated by Amit Kumar in the song 'Aaya main aaya' (Movie: Mahasangram). There are many singers in the music industry who admire Amit Kumar. Even Abhijeet adores Amit Kumar. He had himself said that he learned a lot listening the songs and stage performances of Amit Kumar, and even Abhijeet calls Amit Kumar 'the greatest performer of the stage'.

Gulzarsaab is doing fine - aging very gracefully. He has managed to keep pace with the times; he churns out lyrics that are magical as always. There are times when he gives in to popular demands - pens lyric which calls on lovers to ignite passion strong enough to light 'bidi' too. But honestly, he is adorable.
