I first heard Gene Clark sing this song at a small coffeehouse in Washington DC, Dylan's Café, back in 1988. It has been one of my favorites of his ever since.
This wonderfully emotional voice, singing the most empathetic lyrics is a treasured gift for those who feel. Gene lived a tortured short life but hardly a wasted one. He left us with a wealth of truly meaningful and priceless treasures which are deserving enough for him to be admitted into the Song Writers Hall of Fame. gene was all quality and quantity of songs to boot.
Love this picture of Gene. From what I have read, this is typical: always working always writing. No wonder there is a plethora of GC classics to choose from. He was/is amazing, and always will be remembered and loved.
