2:25:00 I only just now realized Bruce is using the slang right there. “Figure I will” would make sense in normal speech too, of course, but that’s a way of phrasing things the mutants and Carrie do all throughout. He’s trying to relate to her on her level with that.
Objectively speaking this is one of the best in DC's animated film line. And it is good. That said, I never have a strong emotional connection with the piece. Part of that is maybe because they're slavishly trying to be as close as possible to the book as they can that it can come off a bit cold and distant. There are lesser DC animation movies that I would put over this just because I find them more fun.
Having really enjoyed listening to you guys dissect the book, I'm really looking forward to this commentary. So much to unpack.

Spot on.
Good catch!

I love the Weird Al reference.
The discord invite in the description is invalid/expired btw.... been looking for a way to join and not sure how lol
I hope 2 part night happens again?
Probably will with other animated movies
West would of killed Dark Knight Returns Batman.
He did a voice over for a documentary reading some lines from DKR. I found it insanely cringe. Keaton? I'm in.
The Mutants all sound way too old to me, specially the Leader. He sounds like 40.
