    So, DMR radio to Openspot to Network to Openspot to DMR radio...right?

      That's one option, yes.

      Yes I also have a couple of models of the original device. I wish they had kept making it, and added this one. Both have great features. Thanks for subscribing.

    Thanks. How does the Auto Cal on DMR feature work? I tried it and got really high frequency offsets like 200 hz and after saving the settings the radio couldn't talk to the modem and I had to set the frequency offset back to zero.

    The plug with the angled prongs is(at 4:00mins) is a New Zealand/Australian adaptor. The first second and fourth plugs are overseas adaptors :)

    Any advice appreciated.
    I have the OpenSpot2 and trying to transcode from DMR to XLX using a DMR Radio.
    I click DMR in the Quick Set Up then click the sub menu tab for DMR plus/MARC/TGIF/XLX.
    When I go to the server tab drop-down there are zero XLX offerings to select?
    What am I doing wrong?

    • @HamRadio2
      @HamRadio2  8 месяцев назад

      I have never done what you are trying, but...
      XLX is not a mode, so you can't transcode to it. XLX is a connection type. So it depends on what you are trying to connect to.

      @@HamRadio2 Thanks for replying. I used the wrong terminology, but
      I'm trying to use a DMR radio to connect to XLX910 via the OpenSpot2.
      It seems like it should be possible but I just can't get the XLX drop-down in the server tab unless I chose D-Star for a module or profile on the OpenSpot2. But then you need a D-Star radio.
      I'm able to do this on the "cheap and dirty" pi-star, but not the pricey OpenSpot2. Go figure!

    • @HamRadio2
      @HamRadio2  8 месяцев назад

      @@whirledpeas5644 If I understand what you are saying, then this shouldn't be possible with a Pi-star. If you need to transcode DMR to DSTAR and connect to XLX910, which I assume is a DSTAR reflector, you would need a hotspot that transcodes DMR to DSTAR, which only the Openspot 4 does. The older version 2 doesn't do this.

      @@HamRadio2 Hi. I also have the OpenSpot2, but now I'm running a rpi 3B with the WPSD OS instead of the traditional pi-star OS. I am able to connect to the XLX rooms and in particular XLX910 MODULE D, TS2.
      I put TG6 in my cps and I am able to connect to XLX910.
      I was trying to do the same with the OpenSpot2 but you are saying it's not possible. I know the OpenSpot4 can do that. It just seems like the OpenSpot2 should be able to do it as well.
      I've had the OpenSpot2 for several years and I recall, back then, seeing the list of all of the XLX rooms in the drop-down. I did an update recently and perhaps they got rid of that so it would encourage people to buy the OpenSpot4.
      Thanks

    Good video Jason. Only thing I wish is I could use C4FM like I can with the Pi-star, using the Wiresx button to pull a list on the screen, instead of DTMF for rooms. I dont know all the room numbers yet :)

    • @gcopter1963

      HamRadioConcepts main reason why, I won’t consider another openSPOT again. So spoiled with Pi-Star ability to use the Wires-X button.

    I'm still using the dvrptr v1 board at home and dual dv mega with the nice pice star image when i'm mobile. The new openspot doesn't have a external antenna connector , thats what i miss on that device iff i would buy it. There are some german hams that are experimenting with svxlink with mmdvm. That would be a great feature on Pi-Star image. Echolink clear wide audio and private rooms. On the dvrprt boards it should work, but on the dv mega's im not sure.
