Very important similar events and songs should have been composed 40 years ago to save aged parents from entering the home for the aged. May tge future generation be influenced by these songs and protect their parents like roses and daffodils . May parents become a coolness in the eyes of their children and may they be embraced and loved.
Personally I feel so sorry for the people who try to understand the song by its English translation. Simply Sinhalese is a rich language and unless you learn it you cannot get the full understanding/ meaning of this hymn. This is very predictable hymn that plays after the wedding mass and so many people cries as they say it! including me. May my fathers sole rest in peace! I'm happy I have no regrets, I did everything to my potential when he was alive. Just, wish if I had more wisdom to understand the parenthood!
