You just gave me flashbacks when my husband graduated BMT, so many emotions! I remember crying when I saw my husband during the airman run. Also being so proud when i saw him walking over the bridge in his blues and knowing he finally made it! I cried so much that weekend lol. I wish I vlogged that weekend and I'm so sad I didnt. It's my biggest regret since we wont have those memories! CONGRATS!!

It was amazing. I had to drive there but it was worth it seeing him. The weekend was quick to me but that goodbye was harder than the first. But from watching your videos I noticed some of the stuff you had in your video. I made a small video of the weekend.

I have watched this video so many times! My boyfriend graduates in November and I am so excited! I was wondering how you were able to get them to allow him to stay out later with the hockey game, and how that works? I am trying to find anyway to extend my time with him for as long as possible!
Kirsten Sampson they actually advertise it on graduation day 🤗 they tell you that you can purchase tickets to whatever sports game they have that day and you can stay out until the game ends but you have to have proof that you were at the game (they’ll stamp your ticket on the way out).

Casia, these videos are so well done and really helpful for anyone about to go through this experience, thank you!! My girlfriend is in WOT 3 and I'm planning out graduation now for the end of August. I saw a rule about no PDA allowed while they're in uniform, not even hugging and holding hands. I'm curious, what was your experience like with that? I don't know how to be hands off with my girlfriend :) physical touch is one of my love languages and I really miss her so I feel like I'll want that connection. Keep blogging, you're really good!
I love your videos. My husband graduates in February and I'm so excited to see him after this time period. Any pointers or ideas for attractions, transport or anything else? Hi! My boyfriend is graduating from BMT in May and was wondering if you would suggest getting married during graduation weekend or while they are at tech school. Also how soon did your husband find out where he would be stationed and was it one he put on his list? Sorry so many questions lol
Ashley Carlton I'd recommend graduation weekend for sure, it's a lot easier and there is a man named Don who marries new Airman every week who can set everything up for you so that you don't have to do the work. Plus it'll give your husband more time to get you enrolled in DEERS. Also, Josh got his soft orders 2 weeks after being in tech school. No worries! I'm glad you asked, they're great questions and I may make videos on them so I can put more details in it! So, thank you sooo much!! How's it going for you so far??

Ok so before going down there should I contact them or do we just go? What do I need to bring in order to do it and does it cost money. Today is the start of WOT 3 and last week was exciting! I got 6 letters and my base pass so I am happy. I never expected that many letters. When do you guys go to England that is so exciting!
Ashley Carlton so you'll go to Bexar County Courthouse in downtown San Antonio to get your marriage license which takes like 5-10 min, it was super quick, and after that you'll call Don Lang, he'll come get you two from the courthouse and walk you down to the chapel and he'll marry you there and give you the official marriage certificate along with copies of it and copies of the license as well.
Ashley Carlton you need your social security card, you license/government issued ID, and your birth certificate and he will only need his military ID. Also the license is $81, but with the ceremony and extra copies of the marriage certificate it'll come up to about $160 and they only accept cash.

Ashley Warren thank you sooo much! I appreciate it! 😍 Now, I would say to do it after BMT. One of the MTIs there told Josh to do it ASAP because if he gets stationed overseas, it could take up to a year for the paperwork to go through and for us to be able to live together. And guess what... he got stationed overseas, so, I'm sooo grateful we did it when we did it!!! 😫🙌🏾
Casia Rose oh wow yes good thing !! and thank you so much for answering but for me I'm 19 going on 20 I'm august & still live with my parents. so I just wouldn't know how my parents would feel about me being married and still living with them , because I know after BMT they have tech school for some months . what happens after tech school ? do they go straight to wherever their orders are ? I have just had so many questions lately (:
Ashley Warren yep! They can take up to 10 days of leave after tech school (if their stationed overseas then they can take up to 15 days) and after that they had straight to their first duty station. And I'm sure they'd understand that after you get married he won't be home right away so you have no choice but to continue living with them. You know what I mean?

Casia Rose nah we both are reserve but if it’s gods will once I’m done with school we will go active. We both are older so we just will see what happens with that. I went to basic a little over five years ago so just trying to see what the experience is like from the other side. Nothing wrong with it but just keep looking into it

Kazoua Her yes! Thursday and Sunday your airman will get base liberty. Friday and Saturday they will get town pass! I'll be doing a video soon on what you can do for fun during those times!
What day did you go to the courthouse?
Friday. After the graduation parade. I have a video coming out on Monday that explains the process if you're curious!
Ok perfect but last question I read in Texas there is a three day waiting period to get your marriage license does that apply to everyone?
Ashley Carlton People in the military are waived of the three days. So as long as your significant other has their military ID they can get their license the same day they get married, luckily!
