Never expected to see a reactor have that much emotional connection from Black Swan. I also felt emotional when I first watched the mv and read the captions. I'm not a musician but I felt it bcoz I was afraid of losing my passion for doing something I love. And that Song + MV is so perfectly done IMO. It did the job at representing that. Black Swan holds a special place in my heart. It's one of my go-to songs when I lose focus.

BLACK SWAN IS A MASTERPIECE IN THE WORLD'S MUSIC INDUSTRY, IT CAN'T BE REPLACED. RM himself wrote the song and even cried while writing. Its about losing passion in music, while other artists talk about love in songs, BTS talks about losing their passion in making music. Bts songs hit different.

    • @-amel-9896
      @-amel-9896 2 года назад +10

@@RiRi-ku6xz it's not that deep trust me, love is a generic topic and it's not hate towards other groups or artists to point it out. They are talking about the overall big pop star music industry, not just kpop groups. Especially when you look at BTS's real industry predecessors, who aren't even kpop groups, but the biggest dominating boyband's before them. BTS is the first kpop group to dominate the boyband scene and be the biggest group in the world. Before BTS, the biggest kpop groups were never the biggest groups. BTS's impact goes beyond backstreet boys, one direction, NSYNC and all for a reason and that for versatility and variety in topic, and that transcended a lot in kpop. Now you see a lot of kpop groups doing the same but BTS is the biggest influence of the rest of the younger kpop gen.

You at the end with Stray Kids just perfectly encapsulates my emotions when I watch them. I just get blown away. I love how you are falling for Felix. He and Bang Chan (Stray Kids leader) are both Australian, Felix only moved to Korea when he was about 16 to train as a dancer and had to learn Korean from scratch basically, his accent is beautifully strong in English though. If you wanted to go down a Felix rabbit hole and discover his personality I recommend his vlogs- 'Felix Sunshine Vlogs' and maybe 2Kids Room. Felix is so sweet and open with his emotions and affection so the band call him their sunshine. And the first 2Kids Room episode with him and Hyunjin (they're like mini interviews where two members sit and discuss their relationship) gets so sincerely deep you will fall in love even more.
The show the mash up performance is from is called Kingdom: Legendary War, it's a competition show between six kpop groups from like 10 year old senior groups like BTOB to newer groups like Ateez, it was held Spring/Summer 2021. Throughout various rounds they prepare new arrangements and performances for different challenges, they work together for some rounds, it's a really cool show because some of the younger groups are fanboys of the older ones, but it's also like peak level professionals competing against each other so the performances are so impressive (plus they have a fun random sports day in the middle of it which is very cute). If you ever want to check it out I think you can see the subbed version on Viki. But the performances are all on youtube, and if you find the playlists some of the performances with say 'eng sub', those ones show the real time reactions of the other competing groups watching the performances. Let's just say you weren't the only one who screamed about Felix. Following that performance Ryan Reynolds actually reached out to Stray Kids and Bang Chan (who is a big fan) got to do a promo interview with him for Free Guy. Now sometimes you see him posting about Stray Kids' newest album or him and Hugh Jackman liking Stray Kids' instagram posts.

Black swan really hits hard when you realise bts are now taking a break because they’re so burnt out. They recently spoke up about the fact that they feel as if they’ve become a rapping/singing/producing machine and that they’re doing these things not because they really want to anymore but because they feel like they have to. Suga said “It used to be that I had something to say but lacked the skills, now I have nothing to say” it’s heartbreaking when you realise that one of their worst fears has become true. They talked about how kpop as an industry doesn’t allow for personal growth and that they’ve started thinking of themselves as a collective rather than 7 different individuals.
So for now they’re going to be focusing on solo projects - but rest assured they are not breaking up and are still camping under each others instagram posts waiting to hype each other up aha💜

SEVENTEEN is a 13 member group qlso known for their powerful performances, complex and impactful choreography and the most synchronised group! They are also given the title "Self-producing" by media because they're involved in all the aspects of their comeback be it composing, producing, lyrics, concepts, choreography etc. Despite having 13 members they're known for their even line distributions which even less member-ed groups than them don't have so everybody gets to have the spotlight and all the members bring something to the table which makes them unique. Also the fact that they're divided into 3 units all members get to shine. They recently had a comeback with their title track HOT which was amazing and are coming back on july 18 with their repackaged album, SECTOR 17
    Do look forward!

*Dreamcatcher* music is usually about social issues. This song is part of a trilogy:
1- "Scream" about being bullied so much you just want to lash out and scream
2- "Boca" about trying to silence the bullies
3- "Odd Eye" looking for a utopia with no bullying but not finding it
*(G)I-DLE* - G=girl so GIRL IDOL in "Tomboy" they make it clear they no longer want to be called (G)I-DLE. They sing "neither woman nor a man.. just me ( )I-DLE". Dropping the (G) from the name
*StrayKids* the last song was from a survival show they won called *KINGDOM* where they competed against 5 other groups. FYI: *QUEENDOM* season 2 just finished 3 weeks ago *WJSN* won. Season 1 winner was *MAMAMOO*
    Suggest you watch:
    - *IKON* "Classy Savage" Kingdom Performance (Lisa Blackpink makes an appearance)
    I'm suggesting more girl kpop:
    - *TWICE* "Scientist"
    - *RED VELVET* "Fell My Rhythm"
    - *EVERGLOW* "First"
    - *JESSI* "Zoom"
    - *MAMAMOO* "Hip"

I-DLE (아이들 "aideul", from 아이 "ai" meaning "child", and 들 "deul" as a plural) is of course a pun on "idol", but the actual meaning is "children". There is an alternative meaning where 아이 "ai" is interpreted as if it was an English pronoun, leading to "group of individuals coming together as a group" (plural of "I"); this is why it is written i들 in their logo, and I-DLE in their English name. But "idol" is 아이돌 "aidol", a different word.
The "children" meaning fits with their fandom being Neverland, and the entire Peter Pan-esque idea of never wanting to grow old and stale.
"gee idle" is a good pronunciation, though, as noted above, they prefer not to pronounce the parenthesised "G" (or its equivalent 여자 in (여자)아이들, their Korean name). It was not their idea, it was stuck on by marketing because they figured trying to google for "children" might be a bit weird, and not give the hits they want. Now that 아이들 actually shows I-DLE before actual kids, they are pushing back and trying to reclaim the name they originally wanted.
Another cool thing about them is that past their first album their entire discography is self-written and self-produced, mostly by their rapper/leader Soyeon. Almost all of their songs are different, from each other as well as from the mainstream K-pop, and hand-tailored to fit the members instead of having members assigned to a bought song. Soyeon even went so far as to stop her members from taking vocal lessons, as she wanted to preserve their unique vocal colour instead of vocal trainers making them sound like everyone else.
If you like darker concepts... Dreamcatcher is all about dark. For example, love songs are a common theme in K-pop and music in general. The only love songs DC has ever made are either love songs from them to their fans, or songs about love obsessive to the point of murder. All of their title songs have elements of rock, metal and/or EDM; the B-sides go over a variety of genres, but never saccharine. Their debut song, Chase Me, is literally a horror movie.

I’m so glad you’re enjoying Stray Kids. Their music is so unique and it’s like every song is different. They also do mellow slow songs. My favorite is Levanter English version and slump English version. If you watch slump though…watch the First take version (Japanese). It’s a cool concept where they have to do the song in one take in a plain white room. Nothing but vocals and back ground music.

Dreamcatcher's Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
    Part 2 is Boca. 😊

one of the biggest things antis like to hate on stray kids for is the fact that they make what they like to call "noise music". they use it as a drag but stray kids have kind of claimed that term and reversed the tables and actually play into it now. That's why in Thunderous there's a lot going on sonically. The album Thunderous is from is called Noeasy which, when pronounced, is supposed to sound like "noisy". It's just so cool that stray kids have taken something they've been undeservingly hated on for and were like "yeah and so what?" with it. It's one of the reasons I love and appreciate them so much

So basically, scream is the first part of the dystopia trilogy. The dystopia trilogy is about hate speech and bullying, both in real life and on the internet.
    The dystopia trilogy consists of:
    1. Scream (Medieval Era/Past), Rock EDM genre. It can be seen from how the MV and the costumes they wear depict medieval era.
    2. Boca, in Spanish it means mouth (Modern Era/Present), Rock Moombahton genre. Judging from the mv where they are in a shopping area and the costumes the mv wears are more modern than in the Scream mv.
    3. Odd Eye (Cyberpunk Era/Future), Rock Cyberpunk. This is set in the future, where you can see in the MV that many modern technologies are featured. This last part, they try to find Utopia, a world where there is no hate speech and bullying, an ideal world for them but in the end they fail to find it (Where in the real world, such a place does not exist)

it's inspired by the quote "A dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful." by Martha Graham
yeah, it's a really sad song but it's sadder and hits different now, i mean, they didn't lost the passion (I think) but they're lost on what to write since they focus on the message they want to give to ARMY and other listeners.. it's like they've said so much in the last 9 yrs and now they don't know what to say anymore... and it's so heartbreaking

Black Swan hits ARMY differently now than it did at release.
Recently BTS mentioned that they would be focusing more om solo work and individual passions for the time being due to exhaustion, burn out and loss of identity. They intended to take a break following the release of 'ON' (same album as Black Swan), but then covid hit and they pushed through to keep ARMY happy and supported.

I felt the same way the first time I listened to this song, there is also a contemporary dance video released by them where students of a dance academy dance to the instrumental of “black swan”, its so moving and thought provoking honestly. Since you like contemporary dance I would recommend that.💜💜
And I would recommend “venom” , “freeze”, “lonely st.” by stray kids💜

Being a multi stan and srsly loving every single group you’ve reacted to so far, I’d rly like to point out seventeen here. As other comments mentioned, they’re a 13 member self-producing/choreographing group. Also known to be the most synchronised dancers in the industry. Their vocal line is incredible strong also great rap and performance. They are made up of 3 units, but mostly perform as a whole. On the other hand, I love them deep down for their personalities and wholesomeness and chaos they provide for their fans and viewers and just even between the members themselves😂🫶. I hope u get to dive deeper into them, slip into the diamond life ;)

The funny thing is that Dreamcatcher was actually an outcast in Korea because of their rock elements but they kept going and now have one of the best discographies in KPOP. The Dystopia trilogy is about online bullying, Maison being about climate change was a new thing this year

    "That dancer!!!"
Is Jimin. He originated in contemporary. If you enjoy contemporary there's also solo pieces out there by Seventeen's The 8 (Minghao), Stray Kids Hyunjin, NCT's Ten & Winwin that you'd really like. And the strongest of which (statistically) is one I don't think you've seen, EXO/SuperM's Kai (yes just like NCT he's in multiple groups...it's an SM thing). He was a ballet dancer but is known in Kpop as a dancer with "no weaknesses." There does not exist a genre he can't fluidly/seamlessly include in his performance and his technique/skill set hasn't really changed in 10 years since his debut. He was just already everything from the jump...notoriously an "idol's idol" (all these young idols you're watching...he's their idol). And from what I know they're very longtime friends ("that dancer!!!"). And in Ateez you'll find BTS' Jimin fans, in Seventeen you'll find Shinee/Taemin fans and so on. It's kinda how Kpop blew up in Korea. Ohhh! But the funniest thing I'm seeing now is idols who got into Kpop through their moms and mom & son dance crews (omg I've been around too long 😌).
And yes the live performances are something else (got my Seventeen ticket...can't wait!!). Road to Kingdom and sequel Kingdom were competition shows produced through covid. I believe it was Pentagon...the first group to notice & take advantage of the never before opportunities for the staging/cameras due to the unique layout of their stage and the absence of an audience & it just became a thing. Take a good look cus we'll probably never get to see programs/performances like those again.
And yes you were right, it's cyber bullying (Dreamcatcher)...a REALLY big deal in Korea (more people in one city than my entire Country) and very common theme in Kpop. Sadly sometimes people actually die.

I'm into this Kpop for a long time now and from my pov whenever a group releases it's new song , we fans already know the vibe and the tone that we gonna get from it.. Each group has different taste and is bound to that only but BTS is the only group that i found who are unpredictable and whatever genre, they do ,it feels like they excels at it.. Their each song is totally different from the other and each and every song is best at it's place.. That's the reason , they have the biggest fandom in the world right now..💜😄

    About Seventeen:
I love this group's music. I wouldn't call myself a full stan yet although I keep up with their new releases (and yeah, the group size is one of the reasons why lmao). From the few lyric videos and line distribution videos I've seen of their stuff I can conclude that they give each one of the thirteen members enough time to shine. It's amazing actually since some smaller-sized groups can't even do that.
    About (G)I-dle:
Yes you pronounced it right. It's either "gee idle" or just "idle".
    About Stray Kids:
Nothing...just congratulations on surviving the last one!
Have you reacted to Ateez? If not yet, I'll suggest "Inception", "Turbulence" and "Hala Hala". Those are my faves of theirs that have MVs (except Hala Hala). The Turbulence MV is really pretty too.

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES!! I am so glad that you reacted to these, I just got to say BTS' Black Swan is Gorgeous it was Amazing (Also the one that you were talking about with the blue hair was Jimin) and then Stray Kids killed it with Thunderous they went OFF and it was catchy, same with their mashup with Blackpink's Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du it was great also we forgot to tell you yeah Felix is Australian as well (And I'm guessing you do know Blackpink?) And I am SO glad 5hat you reacted to Dreamcatcher's Scream it's such a FANTASTIC Song with a great message (Scream, BOCA, and Odd Eye are a trilogy they are all about bullying!) And (G) I-DLE you can pronounce it as what you already called them or just Idle either is fine, and they use to be a six member Group but because of stupid CUBE they got rid of Soojin (because of one rumor about her being a bully in school) and we don't even know if it was true and even if it was it was years ago! You should DEFINITELY check out some guides to Dreamcatcher and (G) I-DLE you will not be disappointed, anyways I can't wait for you to react to more K - Pop Groups/Soloists such as Blackpink, Red Velvet, Mamamoo, Twice, Dreamcatcher, (G) I-DLE, Loona, GFriend, Aespa, PIXY, Purple Kiss, Momoland, Sistar, KHAN, ITZY, Oh My Girl, Everglow, IZ*ONE, WJSN, Sunmi, IU, Taeyeon, and many more! I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy!

if anyone hasn't explained where that stray kids ddududdudu performance is from i will! basically there was a show called Kingdom: Legendary War that aired at the beginning of 2021 and it was a followup to a show called Road to Kingdom that aired in 2020. Road to Kingdom was a show for less popular boy groups to compete in performance rounds and the winner would go on to compete in Kingdom: Legendary War with more popular groups. A group called The Boyz won Road to Kingdom (they're really good I reccommend checking them out) and competed with groups Stray Kids, Ateez, Ikon, Sf9, and BtoB in Kingdom. This performance is one of Stray Kids's from that show. It won first place, as did most of their other performances, and they ended up winning the show!! This performance in particular is one that REALLY blew up and played a part in catapulting them into who they are and their popularity now. Their other performances (in order minus the one you've already seen) from the show if you want to check them out are their Miroh introduction stage, Side Effects x God's Menu mashup, I'll Be Your Man performance, Colors (only 3 members called 3acha--they are stray kids's producers + 1 member from ateez and 1 member from BtoB), Wolf (3 stray kids members + 5 ateez members and 1 BtoB member), Love Poem (1 stray kids member + 1 ateez member and 1 BtoB member), and their finale performance: Wolfgang :))

Scream is part of a trio of songs by Dreamcatcher about cyber bullying. A lot of idols took their lives in close proximity, it was a huge tragedy in the industry. "I want to see them live!"
My all time fave Ateez performance is their iconic 2019 MAMA Wonderland "mashup" live performance." You get a better uncut look at San's backbreaking drop (he can even do in slow mo on repeat)...and a couple other things that make fans crazy.
Edit: Oh! And don't forget the "dance practice" of that performance.. Some people think at first there's some kinda weird thing going on with the lighting _ then realize it's not the lights. They're just going so hard the room is actually shaking. And close second (or tie for first) is their "Say My Name (OMG I mean "ANSWER")/Ode to Joy" mashup "Kingdom" performance. Last place on earth I would have been looking for Bethoven's 9th (I've performed) but I'll never hear it the same way again (in the best way EEEEVER!) There (on Kingdom) also is another Wonderland mashup (Dvorak). They trained briefly in the US before debut & their former teacher is now their choreographer. He says his greatest challenge is always meeting the demand to make it "difficult" enough for them, while still being mindful of all the "who's singing when/where" moments (as yes...they actually have to perform these LIVE)...something very foreign to Western Pop choreographers.
As for NCT the only one I've ever seen with all 23 members is 2020's "Resonance" performance. It's a mashup so you can hit several songs (at least bits & pieces of them) in one video. 2018 "Black on Black" is good too...only features 18 members cus the remaining 5 were not yet added to the group. It's their concept to have an open ended number of members & at least one "rotational" unit (NCT U) meaning it's not a "fixed" unit. Members change with every song...whoever fits the concept. I'm sure you'll see lots of comments on this so I won't get into all the details but I believe it's SM's clever hack for overcoming the whole (mandatory) military hiatus thing. They are the one (boy) group that will never be inactive or without any content for any period of time, any reason...at this point the only one I know of.
But yes because Kpop groups are so huge that's where the guides are handy. But they do tend to drag you down an infinitely neverending rabbit hole you'll never see the bottom of. Some reactors are VEEEEEEEERY cautious about guides....only doing them when they've committed to being a full time "_______" (group name) reactor.
    Hope that's useful.

Stray Kids performed gods dudududu on Kingdom, a tv show. Kingdom is a competition for boygroups (there is also a girlgroup version, Queendom). In this season, iKon, BtoB, The Boyz, Stray Kids, Ateez and SF9 were the groups that competed with each other. There are a few rounds with different missions (?? i cant find the right word). The groups all had to make different performances for each round and the group that did best (got the most votes) got the most points. At the end the group with the most points overall won. Stray Kids won!

It's like watching those satisfying video compilations. Please react to Seventeen's "VERY NICE", " PRETTY U" and "HIT" :) You have reacted to SHINee already...Taemin is one of the members and known as the MJ of K-Pop , you have to react to his solo stuff. I think the songs "MOVE" and "ADVICE" would be a good start. Oh and I dont know if anyone suggested EXO but please react to them as well. Hmm for them I would suggest "GROWL" (one of their older stuff), "LOVESHOT" and "TEMPO" and their beautiful ballad "MIRACLES IN DECEMBER".

Black Swan is a really sad and deep song. it was released in February 2020 but it was only literally 2.5 weeks ago that all ARMYs (and for all K-pop it was a shock) found out how difficult it was for them the last 3-4 years.
BTS group is 9 years old (12 if you count before debut time. they have about 55 music videos and over 250 songs and that's only in the group, about 290-295 will be with all their solo songs). Before covid they released the album Map of the soul 7 (7 because there are 7 members in the group) they had to go on a world tour visiting ~8 countries in different cities in stadiums 60 - 90 thousand people where tickets were sold out in a few minutes. And then covid came and broke everything off, the tour was postponed from the beginning, and then canceled. For the group it was a big blow they had been preparing for the tour for several months. As it turned out just now after this tour, they planned to release the “Proof” album anthology released on June 10 this year, continue the tour and take a break from group activities and start promoting each member solo.
But this did not happen due to covid, they did not know what to do, so they decided to release the song “Dynamite” which turned everything upside down! The song was number 1 on the billboard HOT 100 (3 weeks) and spent 31 weeks in the top 100 overall. The music video for Dynamite received 101.2 million views in its first 24 hours. Today it has 1.5 billion views.
Then came “Life goes on” (and BE's covid-themed album), which got 71.63 million views in the first 24 hours.
And last year “Butter” came out, is the most viewed MV in the first 24 hours in the world with 114.5 million views (Yes, they keep breaking their own records), now it has 777 million views. According to Billboard, "Butter" is just 11 of 54 songs to debut at number one on the Hot 100 and have been at number one for five consecutive weeks in the chart's history.
Permission To Dance also came out later. Song dedicated to the end of covid.
    BTS has gone global!
Grammy performances for 2 years in a row, a huge number of awards including 3 awards at the AAMA 2021 for group of the year, artist of the year, and the best pop song of the year “Butter”.
And now let's go back to the beginning and to Black Swan, the guys did not plan to release:
    -3 songs in English,
    - send 4 songs and 2 feats to line 1 hot 100
    - perform online concertS (they set a world record for the number of viewers of a concert held online, watched by 756 thousand people).
Because they were tired and exhausted mentally.
-“we stopped understanding who we are”
-“we just don’t know what kind of music to write next”
For almost 3 covid years they hid it from us, made us happy while it was hard for them, and only now they admitted how difficult it was for them during covid and how much pressure was exerted on them for the last 4-5 years and still is. The members lived side by side with each other for 12 years and now they want to relax with each other. But they don’t let us get bored… they admitted that each participant will release his own solo album (for example, one of the guys will release a song on July 1 and the whole album on June 15. And I feel from the teaser and concept photos we will be maybe rock-styled). And after resting and collecting inspiration and energy, they promised to return as a group.
Wow i wrote so much but i only told you 1/3 of their whole big story…
Аnd when you said you've never heard BTS before you were lying😂, because most people have heard Dynamite and Butter but don't know they are BTS songs.

Kingdom Legendary War was one of my favorite parts of Summer 2021. 6 different groups competed against each other in these crazy performances (Stray Kids, Ateez, BtoB, iKON, SF9, The Boyz) and it shows the fun you get with Kpop. All the groups have different strengths, but the Kpop-ness is in the costume, storytelling, dance, just everything.

I have watched it through more times than I've needed to, honestly. One of the most amazing competitive performance programs that I've ever seen! I highly recommend watching it to anyone who hasn't yet 😘

So we are all simps for Felix's deep voice and Australian accent huh lol. Seventeen has 13 members. One of my favorite groups. They are one of the funniest and most entertaining groups in k-pop, and they also produce their own music, like Stray Kids and BTS. Dreamcatcher, much like BTS have MVs that are connected( and tell a cohesive story). After "Scream" is "BOCA" and then the trilogy is finalized by "Odd Eye"
The lyrics of Black Swan are so sad especially now that they have shared that they have lost direction and are facing creative burn-out. The song came out in 2020, and they were supposed to take a break then, but covid ruined everything. The song was released pre-covid, so they were telling us through those lyrics what they were going through as artists and it hurts so bad now knowing that they have been feeling like that for 2 whole years. If you are interested more in the further meaning of the song in the context of the album it is in I recommend "BTS Black Swan MV Meaning Explained: Breakdown And Analysis (also Corsets)" by "Bookish Theories". They put the song in a whole more deep context, explaining things like why they chose the theatre, the props used, their clothing, etc.

Your reaction to Stray Kids’ performance for god’s ddu du ddu du was PRICELESS. That was ME TOO. I think when i saw felix lift up his shirt the first time i paused the video and ran away.
