Is it just me or is Ian like the host of a show for children, but the children are us, all adults, and he's not teaching is to share, be kind, or about the alphabet, instead he's teaching us that no one is important and nihilism is pure fucking bliss.
If you're wondering where the last 2k views came from it was me... These lyrics helped me and my family through a difficult time. Cheers, please keep going.
Oddly enough, this was exactly what I needed, to combat the funk of an exceptionally overstimulated day that has left me battling my imposter syndrome, depressive exhaustion and urge to just quit my job and give up... The tone of this song just tore all the substance out of those feelings, by turning the fact that none of it matters anyway into a positive... Thank you for this... ❤️
I have never heard a song that resonates with me more!! This version is now CONNECTED to my soul, I'll never be able to forget it and I'm going to be blasting it on repeat until my hearing gives out one day!!!! Fml. What a dopamine boost of beautiful truth!!!!!! ❤
Dam bro that song was deep. I felt that... came here from someone's insta story to listen to the full version. Awesome piece man and couldn't agree more.
Probably the most realist song I’ve heard. Throughout my life I worry about what I’m doing with my life and my future, but this makes me smile and burn the worries I’ve carried for years! I’ve also had similar thoughts about this recently too. Life is so much more enjoyable without the worry you carry with you 🩷
0:24 's titty jiggle is why I'm supporting this channel forever. Or maybe it's the brilliant and relatable lyrics of song after song. It's one of those two.
Man, I came across your profile on TikTok and I’m amazed how great your songs are, keep up the great work and I hope you’re not thinking about quitting anymore heh, anyway, all the best!
I find it so impressive how a song can be so depressing yet uplifting at the same time. Every time I hear it, I either cry or, at the very least, tear up. This is so beautiful, and I hope more people understand that this is a song about self-love and optimism in times of grief and worry. This isn't a pro anti-life song, This is a pro anti-hate song. I know I'm gawking, but this is a two minute song that deserves to be gawked at and really appreciated for what it is. Thank you for making this.
First of all love your lyrics and singing butttt I can totally hear Coldplay turning this into a hit song!! 😘 PS...the lyrics make me feel liberated from the burden that life has to have meaning. Some think it's nihilistic but I think it gives us permission to play 😃
I found you on tiktok a few days ago and since then I have played your song so much I now sing the lyrics perfectly. I love your song so much it's such a comforting song. Thank you so much and I will continue to listen to your song over the stuff they play on the radio/streaming services. ❤
Oh my science this is so chonker heckin wholesome! You deserve my upvote kind stranger. Gonna show this to my wifes boyfriend when he comes home from work. 🌞
Wild that you think your interpretation of a song is more accurate than anybody else’s, especially when dude quite literally says “nothing matters anyway” which is basically the core idea of nihilism. Honestly just stfu and stop walking around thinking you’re smarter than everyone. Or don’t, idgaf lmao
The message is basically: "all humans are equally as worthless in the eyes of everything else" So don't get full of yourself, the universe doesn't revolve around you
No, the message is “nothing matters and people should do whatever they want” I know this because that is exactly what he said. So I guess he fine with murder.
@@apex7640 the message is in a ever expanding universe where you dont matter, you get to choose what matters to yourself. There isnt a meaning or purpose for life set in place because you make your own along the way
I agree with this outlook, but it's important to remember that things matter subjectively, and that's what's really important. People get out of bed not because of cosmic objective purpose, but because there are things that are important to them. Our lives are short, and people make their own purpose, and everyone's experience matters to them. So in the end the only thing that actually matters is improving people's lives, because it will mean something to them while they're alive.
I honestly like this better than the full pop-punk version. It feels... comfortably earnest.
this needs to be three times longer, just not enough of it. Best song I've heard in years
I'm SO glad I came from TikTok to listen to the full version, I'm living for this!!!!
Me too 👍🏻
Girl same!!!
Yep!
And im SO sorry life has lead you to think this is right
@@noahmciver6279 Eh 🤷 Something pretty freeing in not having to care to hard about some things. "So let's just do whatever we wanna do."
This song is the best song I've heard in months if not years. The points. The piano. The energy. Its just the best.
Is it just me or is Ian like the host of a show for children, but the children are us, all adults, and he's not teaching is to share, be kind, or about the alphabet, instead he's teaching us that no one is important and nihilism is pure fucking bliss.
The perfect grown kids show for sure
Positive nihilism is actually called absurdism, and it was popularised by Albert Camus, in is own words; "One must imagine sisyphus happy"
That is a great analogy because nihilists are basically still children
@@yellowkid846lmao trvthnvke
You know I’ve never looked at this topic that way it sorta brings me comfort.
Such a simple tune but with deep implications. Catchy and thought provoking 👍
Still probably the best song I have heard in decades. Perfectly encapsulates my positive nihilism. Thankyou Ian.
Positive nihilism is basically absurdism, look it up if you are interested :)
True positive nihilism is just simply existentialism
@@Excogitationn true, although I think the difference is on where the perspective of freedom originates but yeah basically the same result
Thankyou I couldn’t figure out the word for this
This is the hardest bars I’ve heard in a minute lmaoooo
My favorite line ever "Bask in our cosmic insignificance"
I love this so much especially the “isn’t that arrogant?” So to the point. Thanks for writing this!
Thank you
So sorry for your sad experience of our reality
If nothing matters does that mean I can rob him? He did say do whatever you want to do.
@@apex7640i mean yeah, but just because we don't have cosmic significance doesn't mean the police doesn't exist

I actually think I prefer this version more. It just sounds way more calmer
This song really does capture the whole point of how I find joy after my psychology and philosophy degrees
LMAO
Bro paid money and spent years of his life to get all sense of meaning and purpose beaten out of him
Enjoy being useless
This made me emotional for some reason. You’re SO incredibly talented and I really needed this message today. Thank you!!
Loved the song, little swimmy swim away was chef's kiss 😂😂
I love this! Calling humanity out on our arrogance in such a fun, creative way 😂 and I still feel inspired
This song went into my reasons not to die playlist
I’m so glad you have this playlist and you are here today! You’re so loved ❤
This literally gives people a reason to die.
It’s literally saying “you’re worthless & there’s no afterlife, isn’t that fucking great?”
@@LambdaMiscellaneous It says you're not important, nobodies watching, and you get one shot at it.
So why not have a good time.
Underrated!

Wild how so many are taking this as an anthem for nihilism and ignoring that it's just saying 'Don't get caught up in your head'

This reminds me of the galaxy song from Monty Python in how reassuring it is that the world is so big, that all that matters is enjoying life
Good observation. Western cultural malaise started in 1960's with groups like Monty Python.
