If the brother is 5 years older than OP, wouldn't the brother have graduated from college the year before OP actually started high school? So wouldn't he have been rubbing in his scholastic experiences to a brother in grammar and junior high school?

depends on what degree he was going for or if stayed longer.

Wasn't it 6 years older? Then again, OP said the brother is 26yo and OP is a senior in HS.
It's hard to stay on top of the ages when the while thing is a lie

He's 9 years older. Which doesn't help the point.

Can we not skirt pass the fact the mom threw all the blame on her husband, despite the fact that she was a part of this too?

This story is about favorites. Dad obviously doesn’t care about OP. Dad only cares about the oldest son and doesn’t care about his wife or youngest child. Dad and Mom made a major lie to OP and should have been honest. Dad broke the trust and now blames everyone but himself for the lies and manipulation he did.

Here is the thing regarding if i thought my parents would be helping me with school I would be taking scholarships regardless. On one hand if your family can’t help then you have a back up plan and on the other hand if they do held either you won’t need as much or you can pocket the extra I have definitely heard of students pocketing the extra after scholarships
