just tested this myself, tried getting the coloured gems but the only thing it does is increase you save completion %. none of the gems u pick up will carry over to the real game.

The gems in front of the hologram box counter at 2:15 are presumably their renders for the Warp Room in Crash 2 and HUD of the levels in Crash 3, but the Orange Gem is not in Crash 2 or 3. Nice nugget of unused content. Hope they bring Orange back if they make a new game.
That'd be sweet, I'd love to see more of the level types that didn't get quite as many levels (e.g. a third Ruins level in 2, a third Underwater level in 3 etc.)
I had a really good concept for a ruins level called Rock Bottom. To get the orange gem, you complete the level without activating the nitro switch. Shesez had a really good video explaining out of bounds. Essentially the bonus & death route are done in different parts of the level, so splicing a level could work. I'm interested to see how colour gems's lighting react in other levels, like Future and especially Sunset Jetski.

Called it 'Abyssal Pain' (abyssal plain pun). Also the idea of a completely remixed game as DLC is very appealing. Like, with the same level themes, but different levels distributed differently through the game and with different layouts, special paths and gem distribution and so on. Doubt we'll see it made officially though.
Is worth mentioning that the camera works weird for an open world, it doesn't fully follows crash as much to the sides because most levels are straight forward or have fixed angles to give the idea it's far away, so In the actual game it doesnt look this close

Hey mate, are you aware of the hidden test objects area behind Pinstripe's boss fight room? Think you could try and load Crash into the area and do some exploring? Show off some of the items and what they do, if anything.
What I wish that activision would at least make the invincibility keep the chain going when u hit another aku aku crate or give u power ups in the first and 2nd one I get they had the crash dash in two but couldn't hurt to add more
This is called a test room. You make a big platform that can fit your assets on it- and that's how you test the game. This is hinting at nothing. Devs do this all the time
I’m hoping in the next update they make it so the permanent power ups you got from the bosses from crash 3 can be used in crash 2 and crash 1, BUT they also put in secret bonuses so it also justifies having those mechanics crossing over to.
I don't get why so many people like TwinSanity so much. Me as a huge Crash Bandicoot fan since I was a small lad, I was gifted the TwinSanity on the PS2, but it just didn't appeal to me, it felt boring. Things like invincibility didn't work like invincibility should, or the music was just too odd (I know this was also sort of in Tag Team Racing, but that game was definitely fun as hell). If anything, TwinSanity was the worst C.B game to have ever come out in my opinion.
I don't like Twinsanity myself, either... but it's a bit of a stretch to call it the worst game in the series. I'd say it's one of the weaker games for sure, but not as weak as Titans (only Titans... Mind Over Mutant is freaking awesome!), and DEFINITELY better than Purple/Fusion and Boom Bang. Like... infinitely better.
Thanks for your guys' opinions, and if the game was really rushed as bad as it sounds, then maybe I should root for a rebuilt and remastered TwinSanity. I've never played Mind over mutant for sure, so I really can't say if that's even worse.
At least they weren't wrong with one of the rooms being titled "Crates."
