Great video! I just bought an engagement ring with emerald cut AAA grade rubies. The manufacture said it was either rubies from Thailand or Mozambique. I’m glad I was able to see some of the examples. Thank you!!
Thank you for this detailed and very useful explanation. Now I am certain, through this wonderful video, that the ruby in my ring is a natural ruby and from Burma, knowing that it weighs more than 10 carats. I wish you success. Thank you.
These rings are absolutely gorgeous! For an engagement ring, would you consider a pigeon's blood or a purplish ruby? Both are 100% natural and untreated. Your suggestion would help us greatly in the selection process!
Trouble is they tend to be a cloudy stone. And add that to a high color saturation and it may look dull under certain lighting. But i do like them. Not wanting one at this point. Im looking at blue sapphire rn. .
A Burma sells the gemstone like a potatoes per kilogram and when it out talking a hundreds of thousands in dollars in compared to a less dollar per carat itself. What a poor miners and people. Only rich people are the private individuals, makes a messy country in general
Thank you so much for sharing this very helpful video! I’m looking for a ruby ring/stone and currently deciding between two GRS certified pigeon blood Burmese rubies with very similar specs (but each unique in their appearance and characteristics). Would you be able to take a look and shed any light on which is better/your views? Thank you so much!
There is no answer for that. It all depends on the quality. For a AAA quality Burmese ruby I can get a 1 carat stone for around $1800. For a poor quality ruby you can get them as cheap as $100 a carat, sometimes cheaper. If you are talking about a AAA+ quality no heat Burmese ruby, the price per carat can get up to $10,000 for a one carat stone.
to get a valuation, it will be important for it to be seen in person as to judge the color and clarity and what to make from it. but an initial idea can be brought from the good accurate video of it. Do send me the video by email if you want to get a preliminary valuation. (my email can be found at my website - www.gemporium.net)
Hello sir, can you please tell me if ruby is heated, dose it work as austrologic purpose? And are heated ruby valuable? I will be glad to hear from you.
heated rubies are still valuable, but unheated rubies are usually much more valuable (assuming same weight and same clarity/color/origin of the two rubies compared)
so... one of the things I have noticed is that ruby only responds to a red laser... glows red... the fluorescent property... a blue or green laser light is just absorbed.. a red diamond can sometimes be non responsive to blue... because of the difference in wavelength size... but a ruby just soaks up the light... thanks for sharing this video... very informative ✌️❤️✌️ ❤️🙏❤️ namaste

Good video. Better clarification required
Glad it was helpful!
This is a basic video to show the different between colors - the best is to view them in person - but the video should do a good job also.

Those all look pink to me except for the very top row which is orange ish. The pink sapphire looks too purple to be pink.
Yes as they can differ on different screens due to the specs of the monitor. This is to give you an idea.
A ridiculous amount of silk prevents internal light reflections and you KNOW it!
Thank you.
