    New volcanic eruption started here in Iceland at 12:46, 29th May 2024. I did a drone live stream from the area where we documented the progression of the volcano eruption by Sundhnuksgigar

    Back when I was a radio DJ, one of the stations had the slogan, "Hot Rockin', and Flame Throwin'" This reminds me of the literal interpretation of that. :)
    Amazing the speed, the viscosity must be fairly low to flow like that.

    Did anyone else feel that this week's lava was more runny than the previous eruptions? Or maybe it's just because it was crammed into narrower but more visible channels.

    Lava flowing at this speed is amazing and terrifying at the same time. Its extremely low viscosity caused by a very low silica content, is the reason for such high flowing speed, especially on steep slopes. I can only compare it with the Leilani eruption on Hawaii. The lava created a damn on both sides, crossing a street and the flow speed looked like that of a water torrent! Thank you Isak for serving us such amazing drone videos 👍🌋🇮🇸

    So I know real sound can't be used by drones because of the rotor noise, so here's my best guess at how to reproduce the sounds. 1. Boiling spaghetti sauce. 2. Hanging a mike outside your window on a windy day. 3. A car with a quiet engine slowly driving on a gravel road. 4. More spaghetti sauce. That should do it! Imma try it myself!

    I'm struggling to understand where the shear volume of flow is going? The input from the top of the frame seems to massively exceed the output at the bottom. Did the quakes and eruption create collateral voids?

    Looks more like Hydraulic Fluid or molten steel flowing in a foundry .
    I bet the land around that area would feel like Jello sorta like being in deep water in a small boat .
    This eruption also looked deeper Red instead of some of the white hot action .

    • @tommccallister
      @tommccallister Месяц назад +2

      It is unlikely that it's audio from filming. Most drones don't have any kind of microphone because the rotors would overwhelm any outside audio.
