    My husband says I'm like a drug pusher as I give away an extra tomato plant or herb and help the person learn how to grow it. The next thing you know they are hooked and getting a raised bed to start growing more things. lol. But growing your own food and helping others learn the benefits of home grown foods is so satisfying. Thank you both for all you have taught me about growing in Florida. I finally have plants producing food we can eat and even enough to preserve for later in the year.

    Thank you for being one of my first gardening Social Connections; I feel like I have learned so much from you and Petrina, as well as our little Veggie Growing Community. You helped me learn that gardeners are all just friends I have not yet met, and great friends they have been, too.
    Just a note about the UF/IFAS Extension Office - each county may have slightly different setups, but the Master Gardeners they have on staff are actually there to support us, the home gardeners with any issues involving vegetable, flower, native, fruit, turf, what-have-you growing, and associated problems. Some are dedicated veteran volunteers with decades of Florida gardening expertise, and they love geeking out over garden issues, so everone should feel welcome to drop in, check out their resources. FYI, Hillsborough Extension has an amazing Discovery Garden, which is an educational opportunity by itself.
    Thanks for all you do!

      I'm a pretty quiet person too but some of these ideas are just too much fun not to attend. You get to "geek out" as Petrina says and no ones judging!

    Absolutely love seeing two of my three favorite young gardening ladies. Where is Jaqueline?
    I am so very grateful to have connected with each of these young ladies at the beginning of my FL (Dunedin) gardening addiction. Each have been incredibly helpful, timely and encouraging although special shout out to Patrina who has been extra patient with me and answers every silly question. Thank you for doing this necessary but oh so fun collab. Happy 👩‍🌾

    I need a community

  • @liamthompson9090
    @liamthompson9090 Год назад

    "Community" is a word that is too-often used inappropriately. I have yet to find a single example of a true community in all my years on this planet. I have yet to discover a single Human Being, other than myself that is truly interested in creating a true community.

    • @TheUrbanHarvest
      @TheUrbanHarvest  Год назад +1

      I think everyone's definition of community will be unique because every person is different. Its what makes life and companionship interesting.
