I have both and even though I smell the extrait on me, I don't usually get noticed by people around. However, when I wear the eau d Parfum people around me go crazy in the best possible way by the smell. The sillage and projection is much louder.
I thought the Edp was my favorite but then I sampled the Extrait and whoa! I am such a fan! They are both amazing. I'll be getting the Extrait now!
I love the extrait. I have a full 2.7 fl oz of the extrait and the 1.2 fl oz of the original. I tend to reach for the extrait more but ill take the original with me when im on the go. You dont need both but I do think theres something great about having both. I get compliments on both. To me everyone knows the original but the extrait will have some asking "what are you wearing" with that almond note.
I've fallen in love with BR540 after a year of having it. And I mean, fallen hard. I wore it to my Christmas party at work, and let me tell you, I was the only one smelling so elegant. And believe it or not, I'm not nose blind to it anymore, I can smell it the whole time! It's now a staple in my collection. 💃🥰 Loooove it!
I have the extrait and it lasts FOREVER. It's something you truly only need 2 sprays MAX and you smell it all day and even if you don't spray it on your clothes it finds itself on it and stays until washed

with the extrait I spray twice on myself and twice on my clothes and I’m good to go until the next day. I am anosmic to the original. People smell it but I don’t. Very weird like that lol

BR540 and the extrait are different when you smell it side by side. Extrait is sweeter/ woody more dense and bold. The original is less sweet/ cotton candy more light and airy. Both to my sense of smell have a medicinal scent like band aid more with original though. If anyone familiar with BK 540 and not the extrait won’t tell the difference when smelling on some one. It’s almost identical dna. I prefer the original personally. Took me 3 days everyday wear to get past/ use to the medicinal scent which comes from the saffron

I prefer the extrait because of the almond note, almond is my favorite note.
The edp is beautiful as well but I dislike how so many people have it where I stay, with the million dupes it has. I layer the edp with lost cherry and I get an extrait version when I'm not wearing the extrait.
I wear it myself in the cologne oil now you just gave me a idea to Layer in cologne Oils, my BR 540 and my Lost Cherry Cologne Oil, too see if I can develop the extrait version as well.

This is such a coincidence! I recently bought the extrait and had it for about a week and sort of didn’t feel that it stayed on as much as I would have wanted it to. That, along with the medicinal smell that came after a spray or two. I honestly wasn’t too much of a fan so I returned it and exchanged it for the original 540 just last week! I love it because not only is it a little more affordable, I think the smell packs just enough of a punch to give you the exquisite, sweet and velvet scent that 540 is known for. I went to Vegas this past weekend and got compliments from ladies and men and when you get that from the 540 it means it’s here to stay! Thanks for your fragrance reviews! ✨😄
I am having hard time making myself liking the baccarat Rouge 540. I don't know what it is but I just don't like it on me at all. I am thinking of getting a sample of the Extrait to see how that works out.

I walked passed a woman yesterday and knew right away she was wearing the Extrair. I was so wrong is was the Original and OMG, she smelled so good! She too said she could not smell it on her but boy I sure could! Now I’m changing my mind on my choice.
So sad that these jewelry retailers push their stuff through fragrance channels. I could understand if we still stayed at least on the fragrance topic. If I wanted to know about jewelry, I would search for it on RUclips. Plus: it give the impression that RUclipsrs can be misused for telemarketing purposes. If someone tries to push jewelry on you, how can you assume the same doesn’t apply to the perfume reviews? It’s a shame.
got both of them as a guy and love them. I noticed one big thing tho, ppl keep saying they don't smell the extrait so it must be weaker or something but I can assure other ppl do smell it. I can smell the edp extremely clear on myself but I barely smell the extrait but ppl have told me they smell the extrait a ton more so don't be scared that ppl wont smell u they def will.
I like Baccarat Rouge but it's not an outright love for me, there are many other MFK perfumes I prefer over it. This review has been helpful because I've been considering trying Extrait.

I have both and I needed both 🤣 they are sooo good! I also have back ups for them already. Net A Porter had a 40% off sale of MFK fragrances earlier this year and I picked up back ups since I put serious dents on these bottles 🤣 🤷🏻♀️.

I have purchased Burberry her because of people that were hyping about how similar it is to Bacarrat rouge 540.. I absolutely hated burberry her and then i thought Bacarrat rouge also smells the same…. But girl i got a sample from my friend and omg i am in love🤩🤩… even though burberry her share some similarities it has some disturbing note that make me nauseous all the time… i am now saving up for buying Bacarrat rouge 540😍😍😍😍

Unfortunately I go completely noseblind with extrait version in like 15 minutes. It's the same tune with all perfumes with almond note to me. :( when it comes to EDP I, thankfully, don't develop that medicinal iodine undertones, my skin chemistry just doesn't draw them out, I'm all caramel-y sweet, maybe even roasted nuts kind of smell. It's nice and inoffensive on me.

I’ve been wanting to get my hand on Baccarat Rouge but it’s expensive. However, I’ve heard quite a few people talking about a close dupe (the al haramain), and I was wondering if you’ve tried that one? If so, what are your thoughts?
I have the Br540 extrait and my friend got the Al haraman one and it’s an EXACT duplicate, there is no difference.

I don't (yet..) own the EDP. I have the hair mist and yesterday The Hub gave me a bottle of the body oil spray. I do want a bottle of the EDP. I have seen where the EDP and the extrait have different notes. Not sure which one to 'splurge' on. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
The question should rather be "Do you kneed any of the Baccarats at all?" I am very willing to spend 300 euro for a full bottle of Lost Cherry or Jasmins Marzipane. But Baccarat Rouge 540?... Not really!👎🏼

The performance on lost cherry is awful
Well, when I was wearing Lost Cherry back in December it lasted beautifully for more than 12 hours. Of course I sprayed 5 to 7 times but it was absolutely worth it. And I also always make sure to buy my bottles either on the Swiss Douglas webpage or directly in one of the perfumeries in Basel and I have never had issues with the longevity.
I’m baffled by influencers saying everybody and their mother and nanny are wearing BR540. No one in my circle of middle class friends and associates wear this. No strangers I encounter wear this. I’m sure they can afford it but they’re not fragrance freak like me.
Same here. I only recently discovered BR540 and instantly loved it. Can't say I've ever smelled it in public though. The average person isn't an enthusiast about fragrances and they certainly aren't spending $400+ on a bottle of one.
I can’t even really smell the original. Lol. That’s how I ended up with the extrait. I really wish I could smell it so that I could really know the difference between the two. I bought the oil and I layer with the extrait.

Mfk BR 540 only is effective when I wear with intense cafe . I don’t mix it I just spray both on and folks go crazy. BR 540 has no scent on me . When I spray on my clothes it is only effective after 2 hrs. By that time I m on my way back home. That is both for regular and extrait.
