I think it's safe so say that God in the supernatural universe isn't truly omnipotent/omniscient. He's clearly the strongest thing in the show (maybe tied with Amara and the Empty), but he doesn't know absolutely everything. I like to think of it like a game dev and their game. Yes, technically they have "all power" and "know everything", but they build a system that functions without them.
Not only in SPN universe. In our reality, in our real life, God is also not all knowing. Why? Because, to know something there's an information that we have to know. It's bind to 'information". But, God is beyond all of that. He doesn't need an information. He manipulates information all he want. He creates the law, but he doesn't bind by his law. So God is not all knowing. He just manipulates everything he want simultaneously frame by frame.
Chuck was awesome and he should have been in control even in the end, I wish they had him appear afterwards to the boys while they was relaxing and him starting off like calm down im not here for what happened and he explains that was his ending and he is retiring with Jack in his stay.
Jared DID mentioned "Rob" when mentioning people they couldn't call for the original ending. Even Richard...maybe Chuck and Gabriel were cool after all?
Wouldve been a perfect ending honestly. Chuck pretending to be the ultimate evil that was overcome by winchesters and his own kin, jack. He would retire knowing the universe is in good hands and could leave somewhere else outside of this existence. Instead we get a generic chuck is actually evil crap. Its the most bland route they couldve gone and they stuck with that damn.
I always thought it was stupid that God broke Sam by showing him that they would be vampires and their friends would be out to get them. Even if they did turn to vampires unless they started killing people they wouldn’t be after them. I mean Garth and all the others, they didn’t just kill all monsters.
My mind still has trouble reconciling S11 Chuck with S14/15 Chuck. The show doesn't really explain the change in behavior. Passing it off as a deception isn't good enough. I had two theories. 1) Chuck was replaced by an evil impostor or 2) Chuck's reconnection with his sister corrupted some part of him. Either way, it would have been a more interesting arc for S15 if the Winchesters had to save God from himself.
@@cybergreg58000 There's a difference between that and being vindictive to the point of destroying whole worlds because of a grudge against the Winchesters. He isn't the same Chuck.
He have always been evil the first Times we saw him he was just acting. So he could contuine his fun without being stoped. And just look at the other worlds Michael himself told the Winchesters that it was good Who started the apocalyspes in those worlds.
Admittedly chuck being the villain was a big retcon but you know what he does a really good job playing the final villain rob Benedict does a great job easily one of my favourite supernatural villains fight me
It actually makes sense that god would be evil. He created the whole universe, and created suffering, evil and illness alongside it. Ok, I logged into RUclips just to post this. I thought SPN's character vision of God was the best. So very original, not atypical, white bearded large being sitting in the clouds. And Rob was a phenom in his portrayal of god. He was witty, snarky, funny, at the same time, mean, scary, we weren't sure what his next move would be, and all with swag. From writer, prophet, to god, then to his finality of becoming what he created, human. Rob was so excellent at his portrayal. He is in my top 5 fav characters, Sam, Dean, God, Original Death, and Charlie. Yes, bitches, I said Charlie! By the way, Wayward Winchester, I love you're outro and the way you keep hope up that "...nothing ever really ends." Here's to season 16!
I honestly was hoping for a true twist at the end that it was the empty all along pretending to be god and that the empty forced god into his empty domain and switched places with him because of evil villain reasons. And this happened eons ago with nobody realizing the switch. Not even death or Amara until they team up with the empty to help defeat god and realize the empty if the real God and the thing pretending to be god is the cosmic entity. That way it explains god being a total douche bag without actually making God a douche bag. Then we can go back to a normal existence with an actual Loving god who does care and doesn’t intentionally try to fuck over anybody. I mean we got that anyway with Jack and that’s cool and all but I was hoping Chuck wasn’t the real god.
That would’ve been better honestly, and would explain why chuck wasn’t completely omnipotent, because the fact that they were able to trick chuck into using his power so jack could beat him is bs
@@TheBuddy303 i agree. It was BS that they were able to “trick” a fully powered god. Not God when he was suffering with the wound from Sam. But a back to full power god they “tricked” with their plan? I doubt it. Sam, Dean and Jack were literally the last living beings on any planet since Chuck destroyed every earth in the entire multiverse. You mean to tell me that Chuck wasn’t able to hear them? Hear their thoughts? Hear their plans? The last 3 beings in existence and he couldn’t figure out what they were doing? It just doesn’t add up. I mean if they had all the other earths still and he was overloaded with the thoughts and prayers of everyone I could see it maybe being glossed over. But they were the 3 last living things. It doesn’t make sense. I’ll keep my version as cannon in my head. As far as I’m concerned Chuck was actually the Empty or Cosmic Entity and was switched with the real god through trickery eons ago and that’s why he’s such a dick.
So when Amara lost a lot of her power, she sucked in a bunch of souls to get her power back. When Jack became a power vacuum he sucked power from the environment as well. So when Chuck/GOD became a power vacuum, why can't he?
All of those examples that you brought up, they still had a bit of power left, albeit minute. Chuck has absolutely none, nada, zip, zilch, zero. It takes power to get more power and chuck has lost the capacity to hold any power
@@ErectileSceptile No, in the series they literally explain that all Jacks energy exploded out of him so that he became a "power vacuum". In physics a vacuum means a space with nothing in it. So, both Jack and Chuck had absolutely none, nada, zip, zilch, zero power in them then.
@@anoukdevries8144 But if that's the case then every human would essentially be a vacuum too. I think that angels/archangels always at every point has to have some base amount of power that is woven into their existence, I don't think a human could pull off what jack did. Also worth noting, Jack's power as you said literally exploded out of him. Chucks power on the hand was drained smoothly and carefully
@@ErectileSceptile 1. No, I don't think that means every human would essentially be a vacuum too. Humans don't have the ability to contain and use the massive magical superpowers that God and Jack do. In the same way a small mouse don't have the ability to consume and use as much power as a big elephant. 2. Chuck/GOD has until that almost very last episode been more powerful than Jack, arrogantly snapping him dead when normal and on top of that double his power with Amara before this episode. If the argument is that Jack could suck out Chucks power because Jack did a proper job. Then why couldn't Chuck fight back by doing exactly the same thing using his vastly superior power. Because jack needed to win. We saw it coming a mile away.
@@anoukdevries8144 for a god he was pretty blind. But chuck is apparently not all knowing and all seeing that much is made clear in the show. In the show things that he writes happens for real thats his power. Well that and being able to snap things into existence and out in his presence. Real omnipotence would never lose to this it could go to the same fate as chuck did then at the last moment start laughing hysterically get up take his powers back that he never lost and wipe everything out in a blink but alas this is a show that needs a different ending.
Great list. I think another scene that visual is great as zombie apocylse is angels falling from s8. Also the final fight with hod was cool but the punching scenes are oddly edited and I think some shots are reused. There is even a point god says stay down. We dont see boys get up and god goes stright back to just punching them
So fitting how they made god the main villain in this show. After 15 years of hunting demons and dealing with Satan and Crowley and the darkness you would think it be one of them but nope it’s god and it makes sense
the early seasons of God/Chuck were good, because they could have easily written that God got overthrown and had his mind wiped etc, but after season 8 everything turned to shite and they sort of floundered and kept changing the kind of person Chuck was
Happy New year Supernatural peers. Chamara, I like it but a little Pokemon-esque ;) LOL JK In retrospect Chuck sealed his own fate by answering the boys in S11 Jack was right in Inherit the earth . When he was just the Chuck persona in season 4 and 5 he was safe from his favourites. Even his oldest sons didn't make him as God but when he revealed himself he set up a chain of events that as Jack said put himself in the story but without his disguise. Once he revealed himself it was only a matter of time before Sam and Dean began to question him. He put himself in the story as God which led to the Bros seeing what really mattered to him was his downfall. He may have been God for Eons but he was no Crowley! Crowley knew where to place his bets every end of days. Chuck even admits that's why they're his favourites. It's even here "They're the ones" The only creations that had the ability to surprise even him. He may not have been able to ever think of ending where he lost but if anyone was gonna cause his downfall it was our boys. He underestimated them even though he should have known not to. Early Chuck with the benefit of Hindsight is hysterical. Rob went from innocent seeming incognito god, to seemingly loving and helpful god to wrathful god with a literal finger snap. His dark side turn in season 15 deserves more credit than has been mentioned. He was consistently exceptional as wrathful pissed off chuck. God was never on your side in season 14 Is his most badass moment for me. Just that swift "Welcome to the end" Great list, bro. Nice to get another Chuck edit. Whatever happens in the future his words in Swansong are what helps us in what we want to achieve in a revival a bit down the road and it is tne perfect slogan. Nothing ever really ends especially on Supernatural. Our show will be back. We just gotta keep the faith and keep fighting. Awesome stuff, Leo. Really enjoyed this :)
God becoming human and losing his power to a lesser being while also being tricked by humans is so insane to me. The guy pretty much created everything and to have that kind of knowledge about literally everything in existence just to get tricked by humans is insane.
In all honesty I feel like the way they handled Chuck in the last season was pretty awful. The last season in general wasn't to great with a few exceptions. Its just like sure I can see the Winchester beating almost everything else but God? That's just to much.
And it wasn't even a weakened/injured God. He was a fully powered God, with more than he ever had, against the LAST 3 beings in the multiverse. The theory that the Empty was replaced with God and just nobody noticed is my personal headcanon.
Ayo.... This show really gave us all the answers from the start in such a subtle way that the majority never got it. If it had worked out any differently, the show wouldve been the worst written show but now is considered the best. fucking kudos to the writers.
I loved chuck till he killed Jack. After that i saw him for who he really was.An egomaniac out of control. He totally sux and i love the way it ended for him
what crazy to me is you have all these primordial beings, God, Death, Lucifer, Gabriel, Michael, etc, who have lived for billions of years yet they all die within the span of a decade or two
And the Archangels take after their dad in more ways than one: -Michael is his self-righteousness and holier than thou personality. -Lucifer is his bloodthirstiness and manipulative tendencies. -Raphael is his zealotry and wrathfulness towards dissent. -Gabriel is his curiosity about humanity and his belief that humans are special.
I really appreciate your You Tube site. I am a late comer to Supernatural and enjoy seeing the conventions and gag reels and of course the assorted synopsis of the show. I really wish I had started watching when the show began.. I was wrapped up with Star Trek, Babylon 5 and Lexx. In my reckless youth I was able to go to many conventions.
They say that he is still crawling and repeating ''guys wait'' to this day.
OHH THAT WOULD'VE BEEN COOLER AND WAY BETTER
In Season 11 , his sister scared him and he needed help! And he is acting like a real diva to be loved and demanded by the other caracters

I watched the whole series every year since season 6 was on TV and never noticed chuck disappearing at the end of season 5 til I saw it in one of your videos a while back.
The first time that doorbell rang, he was thinking “SHOWTIME!!!!”
When he beat them at the end. It wasn’t about the physical act of hitting them. He wanted to beat them into submission. To make them give up.
Yea because if your someone who power what do you want those you believe to be beneath you to do the bend a knee, serve and do what you say and if your the creator of everything you expect that to happen with out question
I just had a thought... What if the ending where they beat Chuck was never actually real? What if it was just another story he spun to see what happens? What if that last scene, waaay back in the early seasons was him finishing THIS EXACT STORY and then just... poof. Back to the drawing board.
Another fantastic commentary! Well done!
We all knew chuck was god back then right? Cuz I always had the hunch but totally forgot he says he’s a god so early on lol
I think Chuck got exactly what he wanted all along and Jack is only temporary running things for now while chuck enjoys being human until something happens in season 16 (if and when it happens, hopefully)

Somehow I knew I will always come back to this channel or any other to rewatch certain moments. This is when you appreciate detail now. Supernatural will always be new, raw and inspiration to me. I’m only Waiting for the world, when no one wins nor loses. ( Also ’m one of those however who didn’t like the ending and love first 6 season. Amara and leviathans? Oh dear...) Despite all the bad it’s always simple path they will never leave. Sam and Dean. ( Cassidy 👼)
1:20 looking back on this scene X years later, and we all now realize, that Chucks' just bragging.
I actually like chuck as a villain
U think about it goes a douche even when you read the Bible so it makes sense that this is who God is
That would’ve been better honestly, and would explain why chuck wasn’t completely omnipotent, because the fact that they were able to trick chuck into using his power so jack could beat him is bs

They really did God dirty in this show.
the early seasons of God/Chuck were good, because they could have easily written that God got overthrown and had his mind wiped etc, but after season 8 everything turned to shite and they sort of floundered and kept changing the kind of person Chuck was

Just that swift "Welcome to the end"
Great list, bro.
It's true.
Authors are God in their stories.
They can do whatever they want.
True how the fuck can two humans and a nephilim beat God 😂😂😂😂
And it wasn't even a weakened/injured God. He was a fully powered God, with more than he ever had, against the LAST 3 beings in the multiverse. The theory that the Empty was replaced with God and just nobody noticed is my personal headcanon.
