@@TheFallingFlamingo You do not seem to be a very bright person. Tierney is using the word "we" as an extension of himself, since he also takes credit for hiring and supervising the attorneys under his watch. He literally starts out the interview (and many other recent interviews) by emphasizing that he took office recently and that he changed the investigation and case. If he were devoted to justice above self-promotion, he would skip over those points and just answer the questions that he is asked.

There was a corrupt police commissioner during the beginning of this investigation. His name is James Burke. He kicked the FBI off the case because he was afraid of what they would find out about him. Here's a quote from Rolling Stone: " Former Suffolk County Police Chief James Burke infamously kicked the FBI off the case soon after he stepped into the position in 2012." The FBI actually was investigating Mr. Burke and he was ultimately sentenced to 46 months in federal prison. There was a lot of corruption and cronyism in Suffolk County for many years. Solving this case required new police commissioners and new DAs who were squeeky clean and really motivated to solve the case.
