Hey Iris. I ended up in a similar position as you a couple of years ago. My family didn't want to exchange gifts during christmas for financial reasons. So I made/bought very inexpensive -- but deeply meaningful -- things that I knew they either needed or enjoyed (but would never buy themselves). It scratched my itch for gift giving without making them feel pressured to return the favor.
Love leek and potato soup! I eat soup year round...never gets old! You are killing your East Asia envelope, so awesome! I love to gift people too, Iris! Maybe use the money you would have used for their gifts and treat them as their gift when you all go out in January??
Iris get rid of sky! I made the decision the beginning of the year and had to wait till august. I have all the main channels apps and only pay for prime because I do order from Amazon and Disney that’s the only channel I pay for! I don’t miss sky. Two years ago I was paying £50 it excelled to £80 per month for a basic package that I didn’t watch! I’ve not regretted it and I find things I want to watch. I keep £20 in my film buffer just in case I want to watch a specific film that usually costs me £3 something. Still no where near £80 per month I was paying! Do it! It’s so liberating!
Ah I might do thank you Gisele. Honestly I never watch it!!! I pay for prime and Netflix and I do watch those sometimes. So maybe just keep those. I’ll see!! Thank you xx
Great video as always. We do a Secret Santa with the adults in our family now and its great honestly. It saves us so much money. Do as requested and don't buy presents for them for Christmas but you can always use the money to treat them to more days out together and make it clear that the reason why you are doing it is because you can't buy them presents so they have to get used to this now. OR maybe you could do something like (depending on how old your nibblings are) just give a Christmas card with note saying that since you can't buy them a physical present you are giving them a night out and will pay for a babysitter for the kids or something like that.
Yeah I’ll definitely honour their wishes. I’d be really annoyed if I told them no and then they ended up buying me stuff 🥴 but that’s a great shout to treat them in the new year!! Thank you ♥️♥️
Your holiday savings is coming along nicely. Aww I love buying everyone in the family Christmas presents. We do the secret Santa between me and my 2 sisters and brother but I still buy my two sisters Christmas presents and their partners. Fab video 🩷🩷

But I got it mainly because of my kids... I didn't like the ads that kept popping up that were not relevant to what they were watching.. Honestly best decision as you say.. And like you I'm on YT quite often 😂
you made me laugh! Shop for the ingredients before making the cake now! lol. I decided last year that this year I would stop buying for close friends, not that I don't like gift giving, but it was partly the expense and partly the 'stuff' that you had to do something with afterwards...

I think you should honour their wishes about actual gifts. You are going to spend time together in January and that is the most valuable of all. Maybe you can pay for the meal and satisfy your gift giving urge that way. Another thing yoi could do is purchase a massage session for them with a therapist local to them. Give them the gift certificate when you go for your time together. 28:42

My brothers and I stopped exchanging gifts years ago and it really does take the pressure off. I only buy gifts for their pets when I travel.
