Nice video keep it up. That carb I’m pretty sure is Lm factory Italy carb performa/Orion/Werks and some new triton sirio are made there I believe. The blocks changed around same time as Picco. Reds came out with scuderia picco came out with blast. Both announced new processes and materials etc. Picco said they went from gravity fed mold to diecast mold I remember kyosho Europe posted it. Both went to straight port exhaust also both don’t have the groove in the port. They use the same exhaust gaskets so it’s hard for me to believe they told you that case isn’t made by Picco unless there both sourcing case from someone else which would cost them. The blast kept the old Picco carb but the new p3tt went to the new Picco carb heard maxy is as well now. I wasn’t sure about the rest of scuderia I figured Picco made all the crank backplate etc cause it looks like that machining etc. I know some performa Lm factory engine now have dlc cranks so it may be possible that lm is making them but not sure. I know reds had the whole words flameout thing, I’ve heard the engine is only made by reds etc but with the Lm looking carb on there I think there sourcing parts from maybe Lm and Picco but maybe there trying to get away from the whole word it’s made by Picco factory cause probably scared business away with flameout stuff and maifield thing etc. it’s a nice looking engine.
Inspected my r5r for first time and i noticed pitting in the aluminum crankcase mainly where the backplate and oring would rest on...backside of the main crank bearing. I only took backplate off currently as the motor is still new so i cant see further but what i can see it looks like poor casting. Removed the backplate on my 721 scuderia gen 2 and noticed nothing unusual. Should these holes in my aluminum block be of any concern. Im think'n no but it sure does look discouraging.
Another great video. I use two 721s . Generally new to the sport. I saw on one of your videos the explanation of the pitting on the top of the piston. I can’t find that explanation again. Is it pre detonation ? And what fixes that ? Head shims ? Bones 25% TS3 Thanks
Pitting can be from detonation or a bad bearing. With 25% you should be ok but just adding a shim is all that is needed. With a bad bearing you will see tiny scratches on the piston skirt.
With detonation, many times you will also find those tiny missing pieces of the piston top stuck to the coil of the glow plug. Check with a lighted magnifying lens, and look deep down in the hole of the plug also.
That cooling head is really cool. Awsome video. I really like these engine review videos alot. I would like to get my hands on a Dynamite .21 and see what the stock timing numbers are. Im trying to come up with th funds to send you this Alpha to mod I have here.
@@TheRwmods Right. I figured they would. Iv had 6 or so SH made engines but they were all old. Iv had GS .21,XTM .247,Dyamite .26 Dyn .2xp,Sportwerks.21v2. All were really good for price.
Confirmed! Ive got marco on my mesenger he said sirio isnt making parts for reds! Spme are made in house but some are mafe from companies non rc related?🤔

Idk if you’ve figured out how much shims you need to add but a 0.2mm should get you in the clear of any detonation or you can go with a 0.1mm + 0.15mm shims to be really safe

Thanks for the engine reviews and info. Its nice to see the internals of engines. Good stuff Rex.
Love the reviews of you Rex
I am very close to pulling the trigger on this engine. Partbof me really wants the green and black version.
Awesome engine review thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge
i have the green one but have not run it yet , but love that red big time
U confirm the high idle problem? Was shim?
Looks like a pretty advanced engine... 👌
I've never seen the insides of one before.

Great video Rex . Very nice motor
my guess about the os case seems to be pretty spot on. id run a reds now that picco isnt building them never would before
Cool review Rex nice engine 👌
i started doing it in 2000 also cb did it to engines in the 70 or 80s
i found to be the best is 1x 1.9 hole on left side only
Rest in peace my brother
Good video thanks
You wouldn't happen to be a Kulwicki fan would you? Great video as always.
Yes I am a Kulwicki fan. Really have alot of respect for drivers like him that do it on there own and are hands on in the garage.
Agreed, He was a fantastic driver, and did everything hands on, A good role model for sure
Any idea what factory is manufacturing their parts?
TheRWmods - Hi sir, can you do the review 721 pista protuned on road engine?
Is this engine available in Europe?
Edit:Found her in Ebay

Probably not a problem unless it might leak.

Most sh made engines like the Dynamite have pretty good timing #'s.

Bro I like that engine alot
How do you start it cause the front of the engine does not have anywhere to but a 1 way bolt
Put*
Basically this is the gas guzzler version of my 7 port scuderia gen 2!
@DavidRC im gonna leave that alone....for now
I actually feel the backplate helps mileage.
@DavidRC yes it offers slightly higher rpm range over same torque curve... :)
And hopefully it's enough to notice at the track cause crank & rear wheel horsepower isn't the same.
what kind of silicone is used on a crank when drilled
Each manufacturer uses somthing different. A nitro safe self leveling silicone.
really wish Reds would do a .28 or O.S. or FX
bashers are gay like you
Is this engine for 1:8 GT cars?
Still Available 4sale?
What i was told by a former pico designer! And engine builder that communicates with pico! Is that carb and block are made by sirio?
It is possible, the carb does look a bit like Sirio.
I just talked to reds family member name i cant mention but they told me that there making there own now!

Installing one in my MP10T Truggy, how do you
like you break it in?
Follow the directions that came with it...
What would u guess is the horse power if this engine. 2.74344hp?
I have no idea on the hp.
No one ever knows the true horsepower of any nitro R/C engines....
There really isn't a calibrated dyno anywhere to test them.
The back plate booster started with the optima for os, ebmods only copied the design.
Eb was doing before 2013, Optima has only been making them a couple years.
Couple years? I already had one on a bullitt b217 back in 2009 or 10. It's one of their oldest product still sold.
Mine has the same idle issue. What size head shim should I add if I'm running 30% nitro race blend fuel??
