For 700, thats a steal. I'm going to save up for this and grab one when they are available. I love all of these features. Finally they put a gate, a boost, a tight switch, changeable watts, recordable output, and whatever else lol all in a tube head that just screams! NEEEEEEEEED IT!!!!!!
Thinking of getting this as my first amp. My dream amp is a JP-2C, but I have always wanted a 5150, and while the 5150III really tempts me and the 50w models are cool, this comes with so much more and I love the tones it has.
I bought this last week. The clean channel is almost as if there is no preamp. It is very clean clean. It takes pedals well if there is a need for a plexi sound or an edge of break up thing if that’s needed. The dirt channel is exactly what you would expect. Very 5150/ 6505. The gate is good though I personally run another on my g system and another again in the loop. I also use a TS in front but only use that as a boost soloing. The boost pedal on this works well and really there is no need for stacking overdrive. I have done it out of habit really. I play a few styles and have a Marshall TSL left and using this right - not in stereo just two different set ups depending on what I am playing. This thing is very loud. It keeps up with my TSL60 and the usual issue with bass thinning at higher volumes doesn’t seem to happen with this amp. I’ve not recorded yet or used the back panel other than to plug in a cab so I can’t comment on these bits. Really my set up will probably be wah, whammy then into this front end (no other drives), then into loop my G system for delays and reverbs etc. Live I won’t bother buying a 120. I’d more volume is needed I’ll go from the amp back into the mixing desk. The 120 looks great but considering this amp I just don’t think it will offer any more to justify getting it. If it were stolen would I replace it? Yes absolutely.
I mostly view your demos not for the gear (that's interesting also) but for the inspiration. Hell, there are full albums out there with fewer creative ideas than this mere demo. Thanks for your work!

Is there any way to get a clean signal (with no mic/cab sim) with this head? I noticed both the USB and XLR outputs have mic simulation on them... I'm wanting to run into a PC and simulate cab in the box.
@@300WINMAG360 I have noticed that too. The Invective feature set and sound leave a lot of its competitors in the dust. I've got mine running through a Marshall cab loaded with Swamp Thangs and Texas Heats in an X configuration. Pretty cool. I'm going to get the Invective cab at some point. But they are hard to find right now.

@@nitromeda I do still have it. It is my main amp now and is a workhorse. I have a 10 band eq, a compressor, and a precision drive paired with it and it sounds mean when paired with a Mesa 2x12.

i think the philosophy behind naming that switch „tight“, is because you also achieve more tightness with less gain. i prefer less gain and a boost with single coils for example. thats my main setting to play aggressive riffs :D
Man, I think you could make anything sound good! I’m not amp shopping, I just got a 5150 III 2x12 with a vintage 30 and creamback 75, but I almost picked up one of these. Great video!
Just got mine today. This is my first lunchbox tube amp, but I have the 6505+ and was hoping I could get a similar tone from the Invective MH for doing shows so I didn't have to lug around a 120w + 4x12 but I'm not sure it's a practical stage choice. The distortion sounds flubby to me. With a tube screamer in front and eq in the fx loop I can get a somewhat workable distortion, but the saturation is a bit lacking. The built in gate squashes your tone when engaged and doesn't quite kill the white noise so I opted for a gate in the fx loop. The thing that impressed me the most was the clean channel, but as Rabea noted you have to boost the highs to almost max. Maybe the tubes need broken in a bit? I checked and it has 3x JJ Ruby HG ECC83s which I believe is a good tube for the small gain stage it has. The boost switch seems almost pointless and the tight switch really squashes your gain down, but could be useful I suppose. All in all it's a great bedroom amp. I feel like it sounds better at low volumes.
@@garikdjan6266 I've only tried the Invective of those 3, but to me the features weren't with the extra price tag over the regular mini 6505. Also, Peavey is definitely making things a lot more cheaply these days.
Hey Rab' It's been a real long while since I watched you... or even picked up a guitar. The first demo was exactly what I needed. Lots of a love, A severely inspired fan.
My positive grid bias mini may have countless options for creating great sounds and profiles, but this is the first tube amp I've played that can match it for most features and the tone difference is truly a reminder of why tube is still king.
