I invaded a 3v1 today in Ashen capital and his two phantoms both had swift slash, host backstabbed me on one of those branches which saved me because his phantoms both used swift slash and simultaneously died to gravity. Then I won the 1v1 with the host but barely, I was laughing the whole time lmao

I hit the greatest long range pot throw the other night and killed a host just before he went through a fog wall… I was on a tiny ledge on the upper level of dragon temple and they were really far below at one of the lower side entrances…the phantoms were looking around in disbelief

My favorite part about Backhand Blades is for a weapon class called Backhand Blades only one of them is noticably wielded backhanded.

@@Apexapee Well it literally is, at least the default Backhand Blades is. It's just two curved swords but held backwards.
The other two aren't even a real weapon. A cirque isn't a weapon. It's the French word for circus. Which in the case of the Curse blades makes a bit of sense with how they move.
Chase, I have watched a LOT of your stuff, that sequence at 5:45 has to be the funniest and rarest thing I have ever seen. Your videos since the DLC dropped have been just top tier.

The running R2 on the backhand blades is probably the best roll-catch/chase-down weapon in the game right now. So good. Also 5:58 lmfao.
5:05 Backhand Blades have got to be my favorite chasing weapon now because of their running R1, the attack animation is fast, crisp, and it doesnt stop your running momentum so you can keep chasing.

Dude that third invasion, that was one of the most hilarious string of events ive seen in an invasion, period.
A lot of people are using the Blasphemous blade right now because the Magma talisman buffs the AOW. It can do some nasty damage with other fire buffs in PvE. I've noticed it a lot when being a sun bro the past two weeks that it's become essentially the new rivers of blood spam.
Bro that toss at 5:50 is diabolical
i feel blasphemous blade is even more popular now than it used to be because with the magma buffing talisman combined with the oil-coating tear and the bloodsucking tear you can get absolutely stupid damage

Successive attacks are great to deal a lot of damage multiple times. They can also be used to proc many status effects like madness on the Nanaya's Torch which applies it in multiple hits. You should try it

Another great thing about the Smithscript Cirque is the tracking is _super_ aggressive. If you use it at close range and they roll too early, the weapon will often just pivot in midair and nail them on recovery even if they roll towards you. If it hits them late enough, it can even combo into things!
The pot into gravity drill off the stairs has to be one of the funniest invasions of all time!

I've never been much of a DW, but I fell in love with these.
Also worth pointing out that weapon buffs do flat damage based on hit count so these weapons greatly benefit due to being paired. Another thing of note is that the backstabs are 2 hits so they aren't straight up negated by bubble/full health defense buffs. Prolly some other stuff but that's what I've noticed so far
If anyone is struggling to counter blindspot, I found that zamor ice storm does good job against players who spam it

Big fan of the smithscript weapons! (Including golem fist, claws of night, & Messmer's spear) I think it's really cool that the cirque and the claws both get the cool charged r2 backstep cancel that the rest of their weapon classes don't get, but it's still bugged and won't work when two handing from your offhand
