Beautiful work, thank you for sharing!
You are welcome and thank you for your comment.👍
using the pastel to simulate debris is absolute genius
I am glad that you liked it. Thank you for your comment.🍎
I restore WW2 German vehicles and weapon systems. After a full restoration it's fascinating (and a bit disheartening) to watch the paint fade, scratch, chip, and metal rust due to use for movies and reenactments. You did a wonderful job illustrating the look of a seasoned armoured vehicle.
I am very happy to be praised by a professional. Thanks for your comment.🍺
I didn't think anyone could make rubber band tracks look that good! Well done!
Is that so. I'm not a pro so I can't spend a lot of money on one model. I had no choice but to go through a lot of trial and error to make the rubber tracks look realistic. Thank you for your comment.👍
Unbelievable detail. Wow...this guy is one of the best modelers on RUclips.
Thank you. But too much praise.😓👍
Lovely work and the use of camo netting make the tank very alive.
It's great that you like it. Thank you for your comment.🍎😄✋

A brilliant result! The whole painting and weathering technique was masterful. Thanks for sharing with us!

Easily the best build series so far. Looking forward to more projects & videos.
All the best from New Zealand.

Superb modeling! The use of pastels was incredibly displayed in an interesting way! Weathering techniques also killer! Thanks for sharing!!!

Awesome work. It looks so convincing
I have a Tamiya Brumbar sitting in a box and your work has inspired me to start it.
Thanks!
I hope I can be of some help, thanks for your comment.👍
Awesome dude! Been modeling forever on and off. Great work!

Inspiring work. Seeing models turn out this good motivates me to keep practicing and trying new techniques. I really like how the figures turned out too. Thanks for the awesome video!

Thank you.👍🍎😄
Stunning work. Incredible result. Amazing.
Thank you for praising me. It will be encouraging.👍
Great Work, fantastic weathering and chipping - Really Nice Brumbär !!

I used to built models (1/72) when I was a teen. Most were planes but there were tanks, guns and several vehicules too. It's over for me now.
But congratulations and more for your talent and your patience !
Huge job !!

Stunning!
Thank you.👍
Outstanding
Thank you.👍
Great video...a wonderfully done tutorial of "How to Do It Right". I'm a ship modeler but this has motivated me to try an armor kit.
I used to enjoy making airplane models, but one day I suddenly became absorbed in making tank models. This is because there is a wide and deep tolerance for modeling that allows you to freely modify your own ideas and inspirations. But if you enjoy it as a hobby, it's all fun to build ships, planes, and tanks. Thanks for your comment.🍺
Really amazing work!!
Thank you🍰🍎👍

Here's a tip for painting armored vehicles models that I used for years, and, used semi-professionally: instead of using paint to simulate wear & tear, use very fine sandpaper to "polish" the model paint to inflict actual wear. This gives a particular sheen that cannot be duplicated by painting to imply distress. It makes it appear like actual steel. Try it on areas that people would walk on, etc.
Another: when painting figures, the clothing must be done with absolutely flat paint with zero sheen, otherwise it looks like shiny rubber or something other than wool.
Final tip: putting ammo cans, panzerfausts, etc on the engine exhausts would be a real-world, bad idea. Heat & explosives just don't mix....
Thank you for your comment.🍺
Although we cannot tell that it wasn't done.

I cant be the only one who was watching you do the post-shading on the camo and freaking out as it looked like you'd gone way too light.... great job mate, well done, looks great at the end.
I was a little surprised to read your comment. I always proceed with painting in such a manner. I thought again that each person has a lot of perspectives. Thank you for your comments.👍
@@smc-2 wasn't a dig mate :) - the video made the highlights look lighter than they were - some of the green post shading looked almost white on the video. It looked scary at the time but then the paint dried and looked really nicely faded and desaturated - really nice job. I wasn't trying to criticize mate!
@@djchrismorgan6011 Don't worry about anything. Various opinions and impressions may lead to better results in various parts of future production. Thank you for your comment.😆✋

Great video again! I was not brave enough yet to try camo lining without camo-putty 😄 What size needle do you use?
I use 0.2mm size. It's a Tamiya product. Thank you for your comment.
I was kinda curious, is there any particular reason to remove all the tid bits in the beginning with the tweezers in the beginning? I cant see an obvious reason is there is, to my knowledge no to soil paint yet.
I'm sorry. I don't quite understand your question. But in videos it's my style. Thanks for your comment.🍰
Not really. Mainly just for the video.
It's like u travelled to 1944, miniaturized a tank, and brought it back.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your comment.☀️
@@smc-2 I've learned lots of techniques from you and Plasmo
@@calcite.belemnite I also admired Plasmo and learned a lot from it. he is a great pioneer.👍
A true work of art. Wonder if this guy does tattooing as well.
I didn't get a tattoo.✋
interesting technique I personally would use a black surface primer instead of german red brown to cast realistic shadows but great job!
Thank you.👍😄🍎
🏍️ The Germans used a red oxide primer.
Hey SMC2, on Christmas Eve, I'd just received BORDER models StuG III Aus-G- w/interior-crew & extras present....
-I'd placed the pre-order through Andys Hobby HQ-(Think hes got a review vid on the kit?)- like 6-8 months ago, I just wrote it off thinking I'd never get it, then came the Long Beach CA shipping port/boat unloading debacle, but MAN!...It was WELL worth the wait!!!
-Its an >IMPRESSIVE KIT< indeed!...
-Just looking @ the detail present & parts count on the sprues w/o starting the build process, its a kit I'd HIGHLY recommend-(my 1st Border Model build BTW;)- Ill prob build the Ryefield StuG IIIG w/interior kit as a comparison, as I LOVE Ryefields kits w/full interiors!
-GORGEOUS build BTW, I just cant get over how close our build/painting styles are!...Ha!
-Instead of pre/post shading, I follow a similar paint path:
1-Usually apply ATAK Zimmerit if needed, then prime w/rattle can grey...
2-Spray Tamiya XF84 Dark Iron together w/"model master" red oxide/rust...
3-Hair spray...
4-Spray TAM Dark yellow & camo colors...
5-Chip it up...
6-Apply pin washes with TAM black & brown panel liners..
7-Then I build up layers dry brushing lighter shades of paint from darkest shade to lightest on all the colors used-(For instance: To do so for TAM XF60 Dark Yellow, I mix XF60 with common white latex paint in tubes, which provides for a THICK, highly dry-brushable mix. I use 2-3 differing shades for this. The thicker latex/acrylic DB paint catches on the previously exposed/chipped edges wonderfully, then providing DEPTH & faded paint wear areas that resemble the real thing in high use, wear & tear areas, as the red primer still shows underneath it...
8-Then Ill pin wash again & repeat the process, building depth...
9-Then use the "sponge chipping" technique on all high-wear corner areas of the steel...
10-Then dull coat it/apply dry transfers or decals...;)
Dont mind my highly dedicated line-crossing YT censor. That wasnt my work/hand...Uggggh...
Let's fully enjoy the world of wonderful hobbies each other. Thank you for your long comment.😄
Is the "zimmerit" factory molded into the model plastic?
It is an optional part of Tamiya and it is a specification to stick like a sticker.🍎
What size needle you use in your air brush my friend top build great man you are truly talented guy 😮🏴greetings from wales 🏴
The airbrush size is 0.2mm. Thanks for your comment.🍺🍺🍺
You deserve every bit of respect 😁👍
Beautiful work my friend 👏 ❤. Are they also Tamiya figures?
The two figures are from Tamiya's kit [German Infantry Set (French Front)]. But in the end, the two have replaced their heads. The head used is also from Tamiya's kit [German Defense Force Tank Soldier Set].😅
Could you build the coliseum behind it like in the famous Brummbär reel.
Thank you for the interesting comment.🍺
How do you control your airbrush to the minimum air and paint flow after the oxide red surfacer on the dark grey?
I don't really understand the meaning of the question. I'm sorry.🍉🥝🫐
@@smc-2 Oh, I’m sorry. I mean how to make the airbrush less power of spray for small areas application? I never set or adjust pressure on air compressor. Do I need to do that? 😅
@@silvestersze9968 If you can adjust the pressure of the compressor, lower it. You can do detailed work with ease. If you can't adjust the pressure, you'll have to work carefully and slowly.🥝🍑🫐
@@smc-2 Okay, okay… let me try that. 👍🏻🙏🏻
great job, what color did you use for the miniatures? Helmet and uniform?
I mix and use colors with a ratio of 85% field gray (XF-65) + 15% buff (XF-57). Thank you for your comment.👍
thank you, very kind ... wonderful work, congratulations
you're welcome. I look forward to working with you.😄
ooh thanks, but i'm a novice, when i finish the work I'll show you the result, definitely not your level 😅
@@albertozagallo7105 It's a hobby world, so it's best to enjoy it casually, not the result. Well then.👍
Magnifique! bravo.
This is a point that many people have already pointed out. As much as I am ashamed. Thanks for your comment.👍
Great job!! But you made one mistake- after 1940 the Germans didn't use the black white and red TRI-shield decal on their helmets...aside from that you work is amazing!!!
I agree. We've had a lot of comments pointing out that. As a result, my lack of knowledge was proven. However, there is no change in my attitude of casually enjoying modeling as a hobby. Thank you for your continued support. Thanks for your comment.😅
Can you please send the tutorial for the figures in the next videos?? Awesome work!
Thank you for your comment.🍎🍎🍎
Great video and nice model. But, is it realistic to put canvas on the engineroom air-ventilation openings? I am convinced that no german tank commander would allow this as it could start burning or even influence the efficiency of the engine below.
Well, it might be. Thank you for your comment.
what kind of material camouflage nett ?
It's a tablecloth. It's like a slightly coarse gauze.😄

@@smc-2 no problem. It seems resin, was it malleable? The "damaged" areas were already there or did you do it yourself?
