Missed secrets: -the tree in front of the right side of the river in stage 1 has a fairy -the large boat near the end of stage 3 can be destroyed after it docks to reveal an extra item -a tree on the left after the the two largest tanks in stage 4 has a fairy -an invisible spot near the dinosaur bones in stage 6 also has a fairy
@@SurvivreLaNuit pretty much any non-tas run should show it. I recommend replay burners or saucykobold's videos. the fairies drop powerups if you die and respawn, which makes it actually sort of possible to recover after dying when it would otherwise be pretty much impossible
I have one main issue with this game. Once you die after the third stage and further, you better reset the game, because even when you use a continue you will start near where you died and without any powerups, so you´re basically screwed.
I find it an interesting work around how they alternated the spread shot left and right as the Turbografx wasnt able to handle all the sprites at once. This is still a good version of Raiden, but the music is wonky (especially level 2), and the sound is fairly lacking.
***** I have several Raiden games. It's just as awesome as the Star Soldier series, but it's not as chaotic I think. Star Soldier is really about quick score attacking which is constant. Raiden is a bit more subdued, but intense so you have to carefully "flow" through the bullets. If any of that makes sense. I tried lol
everyone complaining about the snes version. do you know why the graphics are worse then the tg16 and genesis version? cause the snes version is 2 player.
I’m searching for a game similar to this or it could even be one of the raiden games, been looking for years. I ha e a vague memory of there being a scorpion looking boss does anyone know?
@@ChristopherSobieniak hmm just googled it. That’s not it.. The game not side scroller like that but the shops pointing north and you’re taking on enemy’s coming from top of the screen down. Thanks for the guess tho
this version lacks so many things! no rank; no parallax; no options menu; no highscore saves; etc... & some of those collectible bonus stars are also missing. & the sound effects are crappy... the Mega Drive version is better, a more satisfying experience with its rank + some enjoyable deep-bass SFX + a better soundtrack rendition + an exclusive stage!
Also, the reason you say it's not full screen is probably because you're playing it on a newer 16:9 television. Raiden Trad on the Mega Drive was released back in the time of 4:3 television, and it's perfectly full screen in those cases (like on the 1987 SR/2000 TV I play it on)

This version rocks!
8bitでこの雷電の移植は素晴らしすぎる!!。
This is the Hu-Card version. I've played the SNES, Genesis and TG16 versions and I to say the TG16/PCE is the best version of Raiden.
Definiletly one of best versions from raiden, pc engine is one of greatest videogame consoles ever.
Raiden on Turbografx-16 was a good port this came in 6 MEGA POWER!!!

Can you help me knowing how to actually get the fairies? I really don't understand this mechanic and struggle to find any information online!

@@ohzoramari : thanks a lot!
Super Raiden came out for the PC Engine CD-ROM
@silvermate : no, the Jaguar version is very good. but from its era (5th gen), it was topped by the FM Towns & PS1 ports
Love playing this game back in the day on my friends turbo grafx 16. This game goes for a lot now.
The song of stage 2 (Scale Plane) sounds like Level 1 of Truxton.
I've never play the Jaguar version, I need to check out some videos of it.
If you want to watch Raiden with clean music and video, almost without shot noises, I have it on my channel in the PC Engine playlist
The checkpoint system makes this game impossible!
If you focus on learning to not die, it gets way better than trying the same checkpoint for 2 hours.

there's a secret feature where if you continue on the 0, you will get some powerups
Nice to see, that the Atari Jaguar edition wasn´t the first edition of Raiden.
If you consider the price this HuCard goes for, get Kyukyoku Tiger instead. That has better music as well.
Is this the Hu-card version or Cd ?

It probably sucks. I'd hate playing Raiden with that shiny gold ornament on the right side of the screen.
What about the Jaguar version?
La verdad me gustó
I really want to play this game. Curious how it stacks up against the Star Soldier series. I wish they would release The Raiden Project on PSN.

PLAYING, DEAD 3 TIMES IN THE FIFTH FINAL, TWICE IN THE SIXTH GAME FINAL
Why is this so expensive? It is basically Kyukyoku Tiger with worse music. But Ebay scalpers demand 5 times as much for it.
Definitely better then the SNES and Genesis version! The Jaguar version is better however. The best is the Play Station version.

Probably because of the underpowered CPU, it can handle fewer on screen objects.

R-Type?

Is in hucard format? Thx
Both CD and HuCard, but the CD has different music.
@@2kBofFun ok, thx
Clearly using cheats.. so many bullets go through him.. Why not disclose this?

I have the Nomad with an original Raiden Trad port :) it eats batteries like a shark but I love that damn thing XD

Then play the CD port with better audio and 2 exclusive levels then?
PS1 music is better and as good gameplay as this. But I prefer the Atari Jag version myself.
