Pnation music is a great example of music made for tiktok. You just have a catchy beat and some unique steps like hyuna's Mickey mouse nabillera, Jessi's zoom, ping pong, etc. It's exactly psy type of music, dance steps that are easy to do and chorus being just music or some word repeated. We didn't have that such thing, now every song has a chorus dance trend. I understand market and all, but it's kinda frustrating, seeing sunmi wiggling in her ballad music 😟
and no matter how awkward the choreo is there will always be “____ challenge” where they make about 12 tik toks with the song with old men and random crowds 😭 no hate to the artists that do this tho, a lot of my faves have
Yeah and I miss it when they had actual good quality choreo for their choruses. Now that they have to fit their choreo in a tiktok frame and to teach it to other idols, they have to make it easy. You can tell a choreo was made for a tiktok if the rest of the song’s choreo is just intense but the chorus is only hand movements
@@hikarricore_ sorry what? Since when? Name some songs that had hard choreography that aren't as easy as the ones they make now, give me some examples and comparisons.
I'mma literally cry if I see Sunmi dancing to heartburn one more time T-T. She said that she specifically wanted a choreo that would go viral on tiktok. I'd way rather see her dance to Lalalay or Tail. The best challenges come naturally and aren't intentionally designed to be a challenge! Gashina eg. wasn't designed to be a challenge and yet everyone was dancing it because it was a freakin Awsome choreo.
I hate hate HATE what tiktok is doing to kpop. One of the most annoying things for me is the TikTok challenges these companies force idols to make and then SHOVE IT down our throats. Like no I don't want to see aespa dance to Girls with every single group in this godforsaken universe. Even worse, sometimes it's a different video for every idol WITHIN THE SAME GROUP. I CAN'T ANYMORE I'M TIRED. And they all use the same snippet of the song that ALL k-tiktokers use like I am exhausted at this point. It's even worse if a part you hate in a song is considered "the killing part" and IS EVERYWHERE. I kid you not this makes me go absolutely feral. In a negative sense. If I hear Maniac's chorus, or watch it baila baila baila or put my SNIKERZON one more time I'm gonna need mental counseling. That rant was absolutely fucking deserved because my nerves have thinned down to nothing. Maybe we need to bring cyberbullying back at this point...
literally everytime a group comes back with a new song it gets turned into a tiktok challenge 😭 like i immediately unsubscribe once i see the mv because i don't want to be flooded with shorts every hour.
I should not be happy about this but Ateez made a choreo that was too hard. So no one wants to do it, that's sad for the boys but at least I am not flooded
omg this is soo relatable after itzy released sneakers they are just doing annoying challenges every fckin day like 5 or 6 are enough but they just won't stop then I find the song annoying
I think TikTok also change Kpop music itself. Not only how we experienced it. Before TikTok, most of the releases feel much fuller, with many song hit 3 minutes mark, and when you listen any part of the song it sounds good, cohesive. Nowadays only the chorus or the beat drop that's good from the song. And we can see the song that cater specifically for TikTok. Like G-idle's Tomboy. Or Jessi's Zoom. With memorable step and catchy tunes only in some part you can make them viral. TikTok just gives incentive for KPop producers to make shorter and shorter music with many viral part in one song. Even if it doesn't sounds cohesive at all. Just for the sake of a chance of being viral.
You forgot to mention that nowadays artists actually try to impress tik tok users than anyone else. like making that easy af "viral" choreos and doing shorts
Sorn is the epitome of what you just stated. She just turned into some ignorant girl who just makes tiktoks all day like where is my bestie 😭 why is she making tiktoks like Piper Rochelle? Girl you were once so proud, the hope for clc.
@@WelcometoK-POP but nowadays dance is more complex than before too?? If you are a 2nd gen stan/3rd gen stan, you'll be now that their dance is more easy than nowadays group
agreed. nct is my ult group, and this year they spoiled beatbox chorus like a month before the song was actually released. i got sick of hearing the song from tiktok and that's why i wasnt excited at all when the mv finally came out. i usually never watch music video teasers/trailers or what ever those are called because i dont want to know anything about the song before its released, but in tiktok it's almost impossible not to hear a song if its trending.
EXACTLY I was so excited about beatbox bc when hello future came out last year it immediately became my favorite nct dream song. So this year I was excited with the repackage but they just had to reveal the whole chorus before it dropped and I was kinda sick of it
THIS. I'm not even on tiktok, but the official channel posted like 1000+ 'beatbox' youtube shorts. The first time I heard it, I liked it. By the time the song was out, I've heard it so many times I felt the song and MV are some kind of extension to a tiktok trend, and sadly this can be said about any song nowadays.
I love when you post😭and I agree that tiktok is ruining kpop. Sometimes tiktok is useful when promoting a song (example: Zoom by Jessi) and non-kpop fans discover that k-pop isn't actually shit. But some take it too far and just ruin shit (example: Psycho by Red Velvet-i swear if I hear this girl choke on air one more time I'm gonna fucking lose it shdngghjhfkj
I can confirm what you say about TikTok accounts stealing content from other social medias (2:16) I'll share my personal story with this, feel free to read! ^^ TikTok is also ruining K-Pop creators, at least in my case, it's one of the big reasons I stopped posting content. People kept reposting my mashups without any kind of credit to my channel, and the worst part is that a lot of those videos would get way more attention and recognition than my original video. (For example, my video getting less than 100K views and the stolen TikTok posts reaching numbers like 5M) A literal K-Pop trend started with one of my stolen videos and I ended up getting absolutely no credit at all. Thousands and thousands of videos have been posted with that sound, you might know which one I'm talking about. It's extracted from my TWICE Megamix and it goes like "Like Ooh Ahh, Cheer Up, I'm like TT, ah~, knock knock!...", basically the title track names of TWICE but mixed together. This sound went so viral that even a K-Pop idol posted herself dancing to it... (Sunshine from NATURE). That short composition of songs, took me days for it to sound good and smooth, so me not getting any kind of recognition was devastating if I'm being honest. I contacted TikTok about it and they took months to take the post down, but the harm was already done and users were already spreading this audio without credit... However, from this point, something similar to this happened every time I posted a new video to my channel. There was always someone that steals my hard work and gets way more benefits than me (views, likes, followers...). And it's just not fair... people are using me for their own benefits and pretending like they did all my work... So now, it has already been a year since I posted a video to RUclips, I've been hugely demotivated to make mashups and it's mainly because of TikTok accounts stealing my videos. It's sad because it's not only me suffering from this, I know a lot of mashup artists and they've all experienced stolen content. It just sucks, it really does... If you've made it this far, thank you! I really needed to vent about it haha
I feel so sorry! You were the few good mash up guys along with the loona dude. It's absolutely devastating what happened to you, i hope that you are doing well, we all love your content!
I have been a subscriber to you ever since I heard your 2020 mashup. I’m so thankful that I first heard it on your channel and not some random tik tok account. I don’t actually have tik tok, but a lot of videos that are made from there are uploaded onto RUclips shorts these days, and I remember hearing one of your mashups in the background. I was so upset when I saw other people praising that random person for the content that you created, and the account not giving you any credit. It breaks my heart. As someone who makes her own projects just for herself to grow on, I know how long projects like that take, and I would be devastated if all my hard work went to a random Tik Toker who wouldn’t even care to credit my name under my own work. The next time you have motivation to work on something like this again, I will try everything in my power to make sure that your name is known instead of some random person on the internet. I genuinely enjoy the content you make and it just makes me so upset that other people get more views for your work. For any RUclipsrs work for that matter. It really sucks. I even remembered watching a RUclips shorts channel saying, “The struggles of being a kpop shorts content creator😔” and one of the struggles was having their videos stolen even though they would do the same thing. So hypocritical. I look forward to more stuff from you soon though! You are really talented at what you do!
Hi! Thanks for sharing I've been subscribed for a while so I'm glad to see some updates Your feelings make perfect sense and I can only imagine how disheartening it is to put so much work into something and see other people get the recognition you deserve. I feel like people feel entitled when it comes to entertainment nowadays For what it's worth, I regularly search your channel to listen to your old mashups. They're really the best! And if you ever feel inclined to make another, it would make my day so I will do my best to make sure you are mentioned when I come across your work!
Kpop ‘tiktok challenges’ used to be something I really liked, but now, legit 2 seconds after they release a song, they release a tiktok dance challenge 😭 i get tiktok is popular and it’s a good promotion tactic, but its getting so repetitive 😭
Kpop TikToks are 80% total cringe, stans who create them sometimes scare me, like, in a bad way... RUclips shorts are even worse, with groundless facts and theories. Sometimes I enjoy both types of videos, though
songs only go viral when ppl make it viral… not when companies are shoving it down our throats. like sour grapes for example. i wish companies could realize this. virality comes naturally you can’t buy it
Shorts is the place of baby kpop Stans. It always lack research and sometimes it hurts to see it. I remember El gato de las weekly, they made such disturbing theories about idols and passed it off as jokes, and the Stans in the comment section were also laughing about it. Also the misinformation and rumours 😕 it kinda hurts to see it. But if they are having fun, i shall let it pass.
El gato de las weeekly is so scary lol. I used to support short k-pop channels until the insecurity trends and the disturbing unrealistic theories, don't even get started on shipping.
@@luking4music363if I have to say, unfortunately, they are one of the best shorts creators in the kpop fandom. And as you said, yes, they are cool for promoting small groups but some of their content rubs me the wrong way.
@@Wheeinpaint SAMEEE. I was also watching, commenting and talking to El Gato de Las weekly before they blew up and were about to decide to quit if not for us vi3wers encouraging them. I now wish I didn't do any of that, especially after the frickin theories ones... Ufff
El Gato De Las Weeekly has to be one of the most disturbing channels I've ever seen, and the fact that they have over 100k subs is even more concerning
it's so awkward when they try so hard for their song to become viral 😭 it has been proven time and time again that songs become viral if people genuinely like them, for example sour grapes, day 1, kiss later, girl front etc
Being serious, tik tok has changed the way music is produced all around the world A great example is Halsey, that spoke up about her company that didn't let her to drop a new song cause it didn't have any part that could go viral in tik tok, I wish it was a joke but it's not Back to kpop... There a a lot of songs with parts of 15 seconds that are meant to go viral, or which dance is specifically made for a lot of people to do it (pop, zoom, lalisa, etc...) What I mean is that songs made for tik tok aren't necessarily bad, but that is limiting the creativity of producers when making music, putting first the "viral factor", and second the intention to make good music
The videos comparisons like : KARINA VS RYUJIN is really driving me crazy. Like all idols are all hardworking persons and we should not comparing them with a 30 sec stupid video. (and the fact that 99.99% of these videos are biased make it worse). Also these tiktoks of 8 yo "armys" are really cringe and im not here for it 😑
Bruh not the 8 year old armys 😭😭😭 Like look, I don’t have a problem with kids liking bts or Kpop (I’m pretty young too, I’m 13) But when they post this cringe shit like the “would jungkook date someone 15 years younger than him” videos- Like just...NO😭
@@ggukbunnies Lord IKR??? Nothing wrong with making those what do you call it "born in xyz year fans dancing or some sheesh and the younger ones crying " SOMETHING LIKE THAT And then you have like 2004 , 2009 etc born kids going like "Oh I am so lucky" like stop dude go and study TVT
Considering the way tiktok and kpop are combined now, im wondering how classic songs like TT, Whistle and What is Love would be like if they were made today.
Well what is love went viral last summer again on tik tok with people just doing the dance part in the chorus, even Twice ended up jumping on the trend and making videos about it. So it’s truly just luck and a cute choreo and song.
My only real problem with tiktok and kpop is that I feel like some group are "downplaying" their choreo to make the challenge that will eventually be made easier on tiktok and like... WHY; and for what? I don't have tiktok; but I have access to seeing them and that's my "only" problem with it, other then that; I really don't have the same problem as you since I don't have the app
One example of this is P1harmony's Doom Du Doom. I'm not on tiktok but from RUclips only I see how they changed the choreo to make it easier but ITS JUST NOT AS NICE Y'ALL. Stop doing tiktok half baked dances and stick to your amazing choreos. I love P1harmony but this jusr annoyed the hell out of me.
As a Leslayrafim oyster, I love hearing sour grapes everywhere on my fyp tbh. I just love the song so much that listening to it being used in a pleasant video is always welcome. I personally also enjoy when people dance fearless to taylor's fearless it's really amusing. I personally like seeing the group i stan have their music constantly showcased
Honestly trends are trend. Every generation there's always a new thing. Now it's tiktok. But all I'm gonna say is I appreciate the artists that stck to their art rather than trying to be trendy.
Bro I really hate the challenges, I'm proud of myself for never being on that app! Plus toxicity on that app is very evil. I'll never forget what some of them did to Everglow-Up and angelina
ever since zico's any song challenge, suddenly EVERY SONG by a group/soloist has to be a challenge, and it's not even a doable challenge most of the time. they just show their choreo and slap "#___challenge" on it. i'm sorry enha i wont be passing the mic that choreo looks too hard 😵since any song, i've only ever seen about 5 challenges blow up, ones that are FAN MADE rather than from the group/company (e.g darari, polaroid love). every other challenge flops 😭i guess it's good to see different idols interact with each other but this whole concept seems so manufactured now...
I deleted tik tok about a year ago, and I am definitely thankful that I did. Unfortunately, a lot of kpop groups post their tik toks on Instagram. So my feed is just full off groups doing "challenges" of their latest releases. I just scroll right past because I don't want to hear the same snippet of their song over and over again.
small nitpick but i can't stand them calling it "xyz song challenge" when it's literally just them doing the chorus dance like that's a fucking cover a challenge used to actually mean something ppl were eating spoonfuls of cinnamon and doing bottle flip tricks. maybe if they actually came up with something unique fun and challenging that had to do with the comeback concept the song would actually go viral. but nah creativity is illegal. also people making covers to kpop songs happens naturally so it's literally pointless
I hate when I’m just doing a kpop dance and then someone’s like "omg I know that" and I’m like "really you listen to kpop too?" Then they say "no I got it off of TikTok I don’t even listen to kpop"
I just wanna say, I'm really happy aespa releases full, complete song that usually reach the 3-4 minute mark because it's obvious they're more focused on creating complete songs rather than just TikTok songs that are easy to stream. Their songs always have complete verses, pre-choruses, bridges etc etc and never feel like they were made for just mass streaming, I think they deserve praise for that because now a days it seems like most kpop groups just wanna make a song revolved around a catchy chorus and nothing of much substance other than that
totally agree. and it's the choreography too: groups are making their moves really simple in hopes that they'll catch on as a tiktok dance and it's putting all of fourth gen's astronomical dance talent to shame :/
going to 100% agree with everything tbh and even i tune into comebacks of groups when i have a mood/time... i miss the times when i randomly found new comebacks and songs on my own instead of tiktoks or reels like this is no longer exploring what you like, its more of "here's our song, listen to it like a million times before actually listening it so u get used to it" like no shi, i get sick and tired of songs when i watch them be overly used like wHERE DID THE FUN PART GO??????
god you got me laughing my ass off when you put that tiktok of jay park dancing to future perfect 😭 and 100% agree, tiktok has really been a blessing and a curse for not only kpop but also the western industry as well its so concerning the way many artists have come out and said they cant release music unless it goes viral or get forced to be on the app, and you can tell the impact it has on the kpop scene cause nowadays producers will sacrifice making a good song just for the sake that it goes viral and they make a "hit" out of it, theres still artists and groups out there who dont commit to this and are making good music regardless of the results but man its really dissapointing to see where the music scene stands now ://
i thought i was the only one that wait out comebacks until i’m in the right mood to listen to them. sometimes it even takes me weeks to listen to the song or watch the music video like 2 months later😺👍🏽
4:23 SM did the same thing with beatbox and although I do really like the full song I would be lying if I said I wasn't sick of the 'boom chiki boom' part by the time it was released😕
3:02 THIS. THIS IS THE MOST ANNOYINGLY AWFUL THING. I always get these videos while watching shorts. I find them so annoying uh, and if you dare to call them out for this everybody comes at you saying you're immature and throwing hate.👽
before i listened to love dive, fearless, sour grapes, or wa da da da i practically heard the whole song before i even listened to it. i get tired of a lot of songs because i hear it everywhere before i listen to it willingly.
for the part about shoving the music down out throats, I will NEVER. forget the way how beatbox by nct dream was absolutely dragged to the ground. and when time came around when it got released I couldn't bare it
it's interesting bc social media has been integral to kpop since it was invented, but now it feels different idk. like i totally felt when you said like you were listening to songs against your will. like personally i got into kpop by accidentally stumbling on a song (a FULL song, not a clip on a clock app) and that's how i've stanned every group since. like that was what made so much of my early days as a kpop stan fun but i feel like its not like that anymore. that's NOT to say kpop still isn't fun or important to me, it's just different, yk? and i also think this may be why people dislike 4th gen so much, it's not bc the music quality is decreasing, bc it's definitely not, it's just so over saturated now that it feels annoying and overwhelming
this is one of the reasons I quit tiktok altogether 😭 I used to be an editor and JUST started learning the good tips for it but I literally couldn't find videos and my unoriginal posts got thousands of more views than them 😪
I mean you can't blame idols for making tiktok challenges, it ends up getting people to check out the song in the end, it's just another way to promote their music, and why not a platform basically run by dance challenges, it gets super repetitive for us because it's literally our entire fyp, but it can grab people who know nothing about kpop attention so it does get out there, I mean sometimes even the super popular dance tiktokers or whatever use the sounds, which probably makes a ton of their fans check out the song
the app has become so unoriginal overtime and the humour is rotten af .. the last time tiktok had 99 percent of my time was in 2021..but tbh even the edits are unoriginal , as a editor it's just velocity and tbh I don't blame anyone because that's the most likely type of edit to see on your fyp - I've been craving to see transition edits as of lately tho . I agree overall
I think fifty fifty was underplayed and underrated, but since when cupid blew up, it's just overplayed and every single time it's on my playlist, I have to skip it. I mean , the song is more popular than the group itself.
YESSS YES EYS YESYESYYEYS i cannot STAND the spam of the songs on my fyp... sneakers... pop... ATTENTION... ALL OF NEW JEANS!!! i love new jeans so much but tiktok has literally made me not wanna hear their songs on my own at all (also because they weren't on spotify until today) the only solution, for me, is to delete the app... cuz i cannot STAND music getting ruined for me because its spammed on my fyp and im glad to see im not the only one getting CURSED by the stupid clock app. LOVE THE VIDEO!
Another part is they remix the song and when you actually listen to the song you keep hearing the remix instead of the actual song 😭I hate tiktok for this.
luckily i don't have tiktok cuz everytime there's a new song ppl overuse it (pink venom, flowers, run BTS...) and i don't like when just one part of a song on repeat literally EVERYWHERE!!!! its either the whole song or nothing for me.
i deleted tiktok like 2 years ago and haven't redownloaded it since 😃surprisingly.. so im not sure what its like nowadays but the thing that made me delete it was that every time someone would comeback everyone would just be forcing their immediate & aggressive opinions down your throat (99% which were negative opinions) and it felt like i couldn't enjoy anything anymore because there was always someone saying "THEIR LAST SONG WAS SO MUCH BETTER... THEY FLOPPED" etc etc
I'm glad many people don't like this "x song challenge". I mean if it was between idols that are friends I would love it because it's friends dancing (to super easy choreos, btw) but most of the times they don't even know each other and are just forced to.
since tik tok blew up, every artist is now trying to cater their dances or songs to tik tok in hopes of it getting trending on the app to get more views and love for a song. it just shows they’re following trends, especially including stuff like the renegade in their dances. Some creators are pretty funny, but the difference is really the algorithms in countries, if you were on tik tok in Asia, most of it isn’t this really cringey kids just doing ten second dances then getting music careers and tv shows because they’re “popular.” In my opinion, the reason companies look at the trends in America on tik tok in hopes of getting their gateway entry to the west. it’s just a really big low for companies to do it. Social media has completely messed up the music industry as a whole, and companies and artists need to stop following trends on the apps because it ends up just making their music sound cheap and spoils most of the song. Even artists complain about tik tok and many have said they hate doing it because artists don’t want to make more and more content on every social media app when their job is to release music, not funny tik tok dances to cater to their 12 year old audience. I’m glad I never downloaded tik tok because I knew it would change me and I’d get addicted
I agree omg it's so annoying when you don't like a song T-T. I didn't like Hot for example but since svt are one of my ults my fyp was full of the song. It didn't even grew on my, I just hate it even more because tiktok forces me to listen to it
I’m so frustrated. Now they even make yt ads about TikTok challenges. I did not particularly like Yet to come by BTS, but oh boy, did they try to shove it down my throat. I do not want to tell you my story, but thanks for convincing me to install an ad blocker.
you're so right for this! but unfortunately is not only kpop, I would say tik tok is ruining music in general, not only by how saturated it makes the market to be but also how the app is helping creating all this new "artist" that literally only create music for it to become a trend and therefore now everything sounds just the same and it's also annoying because it stops feeling like just music to feel like a commercial or something
A good example of kpop groups not being ruined by the influence of tiktok or making a song just to make it go viral on it is Ateez. like i see these rookie idols doing the guerrilla choreo sooooo well despite it being so hard , and i think yeah this is what a "challenge" should be like bc it IS a challenge .
I like that groups have more interaction with other idol whether it’s for a tiktok or not. The challenge are probably cringe but it gives idols a chance to interact with each other without ntizens getting all upset and pissy
deleting tiktok was the best decision i've ever made for myself like i have absolutely no regrets, it does nothing but rot ppls brains at this point, when you stop using it it's like going outside and breathing fresh air after being locked in a basement for a decade 😭😭😭
Omg the part when u were talking about some groups releasing parts of their upcoming songs on tiktok before their comeback, like itzy with sneakers or nct dream with beatbox. I liked beatbox and sorta like sneakers but that whole tiktok snippet thing just irritated me for some reason. Like I just want to listen to the music in the exact, normal way u described 🤣😂😂
the amount of times i've heard the psycho meme mote than the actual song is crazy. it's just everywhere. at first i thought it was funny but then i kept on hearing it every other minute or day.
I was having that sour grape bridge loop on my reels and also had to painfully listen to sneakers on reels for like five hundred thousand times i could cry fr your content is super relatable ksskkdkd
this is why I avoid kpop related tiktoks all the time. literally, my fyp is about every fandom I'm a part of and more but kpop cause i hate that side of tiktok
4:38 tbh i like beatbox but the dreamies essentially did the same thing with it, literally every vid they posted was like 'everywhere i go bring the beatbox' before it was even released
Me stalking ITZY tiktok accounts: Put your sneakers on---- *scrolls* Put your- *scrolls* Put your snea- *scrolls* Put yo- *scrolls* Put your s- *scrolls* Let me watch their videos without everything starting with "put your sneakers on"
Huge K-pop fan here. My fyp has been completely wiped of K-pop even though I follow a number of groups. I started pressing not interested on the vids for the exact reasons that are on this video. Now the only time I see K-pop on TikTok is when I go out and look for it👍🏾
Atp I've listened to kpop on tiktok more than I have on spotify. When a song gets so popular on tiktok and it constantly comes up on your fyp, it makes it hard to listen to the full song. This app is a whole curse I swear-

You stated facts. I agree with everything you just said

Same, that and the fact that it's a chinese data mining app. Like it's literally stealing everyone's information and I'm uncomfy by that

You forgot to mention that nowadays artists actually try to impress tik tok users than anyone else. like making that easy af "viral" choreos and doing shorts
What's the prblm dude in that?

agreed.
nct is my ult group, and this year they spoiled beatbox chorus like a month before the song was actually released.
i got sick of hearing the song from tiktok and that's why i wasnt excited at all when the mv finally came out.
i usually never watch music video teasers/trailers or what ever those are called because i dont want to know anything about the song before its released, but in tiktok it's almost impossible not to hear a song if its trending.
Finally someone else who feels the same way I do
Thank God I don't use TikTok cuz like I really loved beatbox. It was so fun.
Ikr! It ain't funny anymore, it just feels so annoying 🙂
Fr😂😂😂
YES !! that audio is so annoying lol
IKR LMAO-
It's so annoying the video turning into unfunny because of that sound
I can confirm what you say about TikTok accounts stealing content from other social medias (2:16)
I'll share my personal story with this, feel free to read! ^^
TikTok is also ruining K-Pop creators, at least in my case, it's one of the big reasons I stopped posting content. People kept reposting my mashups without any kind of credit to my channel, and the worst part is that a lot of those videos would get way more attention and recognition than my original video. (For example, my video getting less than 100K views and the stolen TikTok posts reaching numbers like 5M)
A literal K-Pop trend started with one of my stolen videos and I ended up getting absolutely no credit at all.
Sorry to hear about that, that's horrible
Iam a big fan of you since 2020.. and I've subscribed to you from diff account.. your mashups are amazing..
Hi! Thanks for sharing
I've been subscribed for a while so I'm glad to see some updates
Your feelings make perfect sense and I can only imagine how disheartening it is to put so much work into something and see other people get the recognition you deserve. I feel like people feel entitled when it comes to entertainment nowadays
For what it's worth, I regularly search your channel to listen to your old mashups.

If so then going to music show is repetitive💀
I only like them when they do it with another idol. the interaction can be cute. otherwise I don't Care because it's the same video 100 times 😭
Kpop TikToks are 80% total cringe, stans who create them sometimes scare me, like, in a bad way... RUclips shorts are even worse, with groundless facts and theories. Sometimes I enjoy both types of videos, though
songs only go viral when ppl make it viral… not when companies are shoving it down our throats. like sour grapes for example. i wish companies could realize this. virality comes naturally you can’t buy it
yeah but agencies follow whats popular to do hence why they know how to market a group specifically for tiktok
El gato de las weeekly its not offensive, it promotes small kpop groups, and i love it
But yes some of this contento its disturbing 💀

El Gato De Las Weeekly has to be one of the most disturbing channels I've ever seen, and the fact that they have over 100k subs is even more concerning
it's so awkward when they try so hard for their song to become viral 😭 it has been proven time and time again that songs become viral if people genuinely like them, for example sour grapes, day 1, kiss later, girl front etc
EXACTLY
Its embarrassing af
Being serious, tik tok has changed the way music is produced all around the world
A great example is Halsey, that spoke up about her company that didn't let her to drop a new song cause it didn't have any part that could go viral in tik tok, I wish it was a joke but it's not
Back to kpop...
There a a lot of songs with parts of 15 seconds that are meant to go viral, or which dance is specifically made for a lot of people to do it (pop, zoom, lalisa, etc...)
What I mean is that songs made for tik tok aren't necessarily bad, but that is limiting the creativity of producers when making music, putting first the "viral factor", and second the intention to make good music
The videos comparisons like : KARINA VS RYUJIN is really driving me crazy. Like all idols are all hardworking persons and we should not comparing them with a 30 sec stupid video. (and the fact that 99.99% of these videos are biased make it worse).
Also these tiktoks of 8 yo "armys" are really cringe and im not here for it 😑
Bruh not the 8 year old armys 😭😭😭

Considering the way tiktok and kpop are combined now, im wondering how classic songs like TT, Whistle and What is Love would be like if they were made today.
Well what is love went viral last summer again on tik tok with people just doing the dance part in the chorus, even Twice ended up jumping on the trend and making videos about it. So it’s truly just luck and a cute choreo and song.
There are many old songs that could go super popular again on tiktok, it's not because they're made for tiktok, ITS JUST GOOD.
@@z.6480 Right like twice had easily danceable choreos early on but nowadays it feels more forced and tiktoky if they did it idk...
Making TikToks with snippets of an unreleased song was a trend started by western artists. Very annoying but a very effective marketing strategy.
Charlie puth was literally the only one who actually made me anticipate a song wayyy before it's actually released tbh

I don't have TikTok, but I agree with every single thing you said😌
Also praying for your TikTok addiction to be cured🙏🏽😂
Yeah the whole video I was thinking to myself....the solution is pretty obvious 😂
@@edvaedan9161 😂😂😂😂😂😂
small nitpick but i can't stand them calling it "xyz song challenge" when it's literally just them doing the chorus dance like that's a fucking cover a challenge used to actually mean something ppl were eating spoonfuls of cinnamon and doing bottle flip tricks. maybe if they actually came up with something unique fun and challenging that had to do with the comeback concept the song would actually go viral. but nah creativity is illegal. also people making covers to kpop songs happens naturally so it's literally pointless
Their songs always have complete verses, pre-choruses, bridges etc etc and never feel like they were made for just mass streaming, I think they deserve praise for that because now a days it seems like most kpop groups just wanna make a song revolved around a catchy chorus and nothing of much substance other than that
totally agree. and it's the choreography too: groups are making their moves really simple in hopes that they'll catch on as a tiktok dance and it's putting all of fourth gen's astronomical dance talent to shame :/
going to 100% agree with everything tbh and even i tune into comebacks of groups when i have a mood/time... i miss the times when i randomly found new comebacks and songs on my own instead of tiktoks or reels like this is no longer exploring what you like, its more of "here's our song, listen to it like a million times before actually listening it so u get used to it" like no shi, i get sick and tired of songs when i watch them be overly used like wHERE DID THE FUN PART GO??????
i feel you with sour grapes but i keep seeing it on my instagram reels 😭😭😭
god you got me laughing my ass off when you put that tiktok of jay park dancing to future perfect 😭 and 100% agree, tiktok has really been a blessing and a curse for not only kpop but also the western industry as well
its so concerning the way many artists have come out and said they cant release music unless it goes viral or get forced to be on the app, and you can tell the impact it has on the kpop scene cause nowadays producers will sacrifice making a good song just for the sake that it goes viral and they make a "hit" out of it, theres still artists and groups out there who dont commit to this and are making good music regardless of the results but man its really dissapointing to see where the music scene stands now ://
i thought i was the only one that wait out comebacks until i’m in the right mood to listen to them. sometimes it even takes me weeks to listen to the song or watch the music video like 2 months later😺👍🏽
4:23 SM did the same thing with beatbox and although I do really like the full song I would be lying if I said I wasn't sick of the 'boom chiki boom' part by the time it was released😕

Exactly and most of the time if the songs weren't so overplayed I would have liked it IMO
Ikr, but now after the hype is over, I actually enjoy wa da da
for the part about shoving the music down out throats, I will NEVER. forget the way how beatbox by nct dream was absolutely dragged to the ground. and when time came around when it got released I couldn't bare it
the song on tiktok is so true, like i don’t want to hear sneakers 17,000 times before it comes out
it's interesting bc social media has been integral to kpop since it was invented, but now it feels different idk. like i totally felt when you said like you were listening to songs against your will. like personally i got into kpop by accidentally stumbling on a song (a FULL song, not a clip on a clock app) and that's how i've stanned every group since. like that was what made so much of my early days as a kpop stan fun but i feel like its not like that anymore. that's NOT to say kpop still isn't fun or important to me, it's just different, yk? and i also think this may be why people dislike 4th gen so much, it's not bc the music quality is decreasing, bc it's definitely not, it's just so over saturated now that it feels annoying and overwhelming
no because all of these remixes of new kpop songs are so annoying and I don’t even use tiktok 😭😭
“Like we haven’t heard that phrase since the freaking Big Bang”
Had me absolutely dying 💀😭🤣🤣🤣
NOOOOO WHAT IS THAT- MY EYES 2:08
Not having tiktok is the best decision I made 💛
this is one of the reasons I quit tiktok altogether 😭 I used to be an editor and JUST started learning the good tips for it but I literally couldn't find videos and my unoriginal posts got thousands of more views than them 😪
I mean you can't blame idols for making tiktok challenges, it ends up getting people to check out the song in the end, it's just another way to promote their music, and why not a platform basically run by dance challenges, it gets super repetitive for us because it's literally our entire fyp, but it can grab people who know nothing about kpop attention so it does get out there, I mean sometimes even the super popular dance tiktokers or whatever use the sounds, which probably makes a ton of their fans check out the song
J*y P*rk was being held at gunpoint with that collab i just know it💀💀
Also why does sour grapes fit with the choreo im crying😭😭😭
that was originally supposed to be sour grapes’ official choreo - kazuha told me
the app has become so unoriginal overtime and the humour is rotten af .. the last time tiktok had 99 percent of my time was in 2021..but tbh even the edits are unoriginal , as a editor it's just velocity and tbh I don't blame anyone because that's the most likely type of edit to see on your fyp - I've been craving to see transition edits as of lately tho .
The ONLY thing i like about these "kpop tiktok challenges" is seeing ur ults do challenges together 😌
luckily i don't have tiktok cuz everytime there's a new song ppl overuse it (pink venom, flowers, run BTS...) and i don't like when just one part of a song on repeat literally EVERYWHERE!!!! its either the whole song or nothing for me.
i deleted tiktok like 2 years ago and haven't redownloaded it since 😃surprisingly.. so im not sure what its like nowadays but the thing that made me delete it was that every time someone would comeback everyone would just be forcing their immediate & aggressive opinions down your throat (99% which were negative opinions) and it felt like i couldn't enjoy anything anymore because there was always someone saying "THEIR LAST SONG WAS SO MUCH BETTER... THEY FLOPPED" etc etc
I'm glad many people don't like this "x song challenge". I mean if it was between idols that are friends I would love it because it's friends dancing (to super easy choreos, btw) but most of the times they don't even know each other and are just forced to.
nah because jay park ‘dancing’ to future perfect is SO funny 😭😭
since tik tok blew up, every artist is now trying to cater their dances or songs to tik tok in hopes of it getting trending on the app to get more views and love for a song. it just shows they’re following trends, especially including stuff like the renegade in their dances.
Pls the jay park 😭
I agree omg it's so annoying when you don't like a song T-T. I didn't like Hot for example but since svt are one of my ults my fyp was full of the song. It didn't even grew on my, I just hate it even more because tiktok forces me to listen to it
off topic about this vid but 6:24 this video always makes me laugh but the editing made me tear up from laughing lmao ty
These are some the reasons why I'm thankful that this app is banned in my country 😂😂😂
fellow indian? same tho srsly im glad we don't have tiktok
"Formwas_9" Damn that's dark
atp it’s just kinda annoying like comebacks are not exciting anymore
Every toxic side of fandoms basically live on tiktok 24/7
I’m so frustrated. Now they even make yt ads about TikTok challenges. I did not particularly like Yet to come by BTS, but oh boy, did they try to shove it down my throat. I do not want to tell you my story, but thanks for convincing me to install an ad blocker.
that's why i deleted tik tok because its made me hate a lot of kpop songs and idols it's so annoying
you're so right for this! but unfortunately is not only kpop, I would say tik tok is ruining music in general, not only by how saturated it makes the market to be but also how the app is helping creating all this new "artist" that literally only create music for it to become a trend and therefore now everything sounds just the same and it's also annoying because it stops feeling like just music to feel like a commercial or something
A good example of kpop groups not being ruined by the influence of tiktok or making a song just to make it go viral on it is Ateez. like i see these rookie idols doing the guerrilla choreo sooooo well despite it being so hard , and i think yeah this is what a "challenge" should be like bc it IS a challenge .
yo i dont even stream songs on spotify anymore im already sick of hearing the songs in tiktok😭
