100% being lighter hiking in and out just makes the whole experience better. Last night my spot was 1.5 mile from the truck. Certainly doable with more weight but far more comfortable with less!
I used to be one of those that argued about whether or not a little weight here and there made a difference. I started out with Hawk Helium sticks, an XOP platform, and a full backpack for my mobile setup. Once I decided that I was going to go with a saddle for my mobile setup permanently, I started upgrading my gear. Now, with carbon fiber sticks, a lightweight platform, and minimalist pack specifically setup for carrying sticks and a platform, my whole setup weighs what just the set of Hawk sticks did. I didn’t know what I was missing. Now, I won’t go back. My old setup still gets used, but mostly as a pre-hung setup in easy to get to places. The old saying, ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain really does hold true.
@@Jderamusso if you are still trying to shave weight, then you definitely need to trash the Cam Buckle & get a Ultimate Stick/Stand Attachment (USA PRO) from The Amsteel Guy!!! It is Incredibly Easy & your Stick or Stand will never be so tight to the tree…. It won’t budge an inch!!! It has ZERO METAL & doesn’t cost but I think $18 right now (1.5oz.)
That Latitude platform looks awesome!!
The auto focus on my camera was freaking out the whole video. Ugh sorry about that!
Solid vid. I’m back and forth on this one. Debating between this and the LW fix. Def interested in follow up vids!
First sit went well. I was able to get it cammed down real tight. The angled front part gave my feet some relief!
2.5 pounds heavier is really that much of a difference?
