Hey Sebi thank this very informative video as Ben mention i am too staying in may in Imerovigli, definitely use info from this video specially sun set at hidden spot. Thanks Sebi
I need to relocate from a hotel in Kamari to one in Firostefani. I discovered that the taxi ride was almost identical to renting a car for 24 hours. I just booked the car!!!!
Good plan ! OR, you can take the bus from Imerovigli to Fira (1 every hour), and take another bus from there. All the information about bus lines here : ruclips.net/video/71aNHAisDYo/видео.html
Thanks for all the detailed information's. very helpful. We plan on visiting Santorini this coming June for 2 nights. We travel each year in June to Crete and this time we decided to include Santorini to our trip. I booked at Fira and my biggest concern is to know if we should come with my rental car from Crete or should we leave it there. I don't know if there is parking issue. What would you suggest..?? we also plan on visiting some places that have no bus access, like the Lolombos beach. Thanks a lot again for all your tips.
Most car rentals have a "no ferry" policy, so I dont think you'd be allowed to take your Cretan car to Santorini, but if they're fine with it, then sure ! You'd save some money since car rentals are a little cheaper in Crete. Hope this helps !
@@GreeceExplained Thanks a lot. I looked into all the info for the car rental and it didnt say anything about the ferry policies. But to be on the safe side, I sent them a mail. Let's see what they say. Thanks a lot.
Good Evening Sebi!... Great set of videos to help with me & my wife's first trip for honeymoon via Athens to Santorini... Some advice if i may, from your wealth of knowledge..... Where would be best / most reliable places to rent an ATV (Quad) for our stay on Santorini? (theres alot out there) Huge thank you in advance. Honeymooners Stuart & Katie. 🏍🌞

Hi Sebastian, Thank you so much for all the excellent information about visiting Greece. I’ll be in Santorini in July for 5 days and plan to rent a car to explore the other villages. In regards to car rentals in Santorini, what type of extra insurance do you think I should get for the rental? By the way, the companies you recommended have the best prices. ;) Your feedback is highly appreciated. Thanks! Arlete
I would take full coverage if I were you. I believe its around 15€ per day. It's so easy to scratch your car in these narrow alleys (or get bumped into by someone else), and the cost for 1 minor damage is already around 250€, so I would just go for the 15€/ day :-)
Hey Sebi!! Awesome video. I’m 20 years old and planning on going back to Chania, Greece for vacation for about a week and a couple days. As far as I know, I’m not old enough to rent a car. Considering that, what would you recommend to be the best way to get around the area to beaches, dinners, towns. Thank you for making this videos, your help is always appreciated!!
Hi there! great videos! I'm in Santorini March 21-March 25, and I'm not sure if Buses will be operating at this time? I'd prefer to bus if I can but not sure if they operate during march?
I have finally decided to rent a car, but now I don't know if it is convenient to pick up and leave the car at the ferry port, since I am worried that there will be many people trying to get there when I need to take the ferry. Do you know if between October 3 to 6 there will be many people? also considering that it would be on a weekday? thanks again Sebastian
Hello everything is fine? Could you tell us about your experience returning the car at the port of Santorini? everything worked? I'm thinking of doing the same now in May. thank you
Hi Sebastião how are you? We will stay 4 nights in Santorini, arriving at the airport and leaving via Porto. We will stay 1 night in Oia and 3 nights in Firostefani. Besides Oia, Fira and Imerovigli we have plans to visit: Akrotiri, Lost Atlantis Museum, Megalochiori, Pyrgos and SantoWines. In that case, do you think it's necessary to book a car? 1 day at least? Congratulations on the channel. Thanks.
Hi Lincoln ! Yes, i would get a car. All the places you mention have a bus stop, but since you re gonna move around a lot, a car would save you a lot of time and trouble.
Hi Sebastian , I will stay 3 nights in October. but after your videos I want to see so many things that I'm thinking of renting a car. but how difficult is it to find parking? How about Oia, Fira, Pyrgos and Megalochori?. Thanks!

Hi Sebi, your channel has extremely valuable information, i have watched almost all videos now . I have a query regarding car hire. We are in a group of 6pax with one infant of less than 2 years old. Can we hire a 5 seater car or do we need to book a 7 seater car?
Hey Sebi thank you for this video. I had seen one of your videos regarding a rental car link and can’t seem to find that. Can you please send the link.
1 Taxi ride usually costs 25-40€. Fira and Oia have a taxi station, but elsewhere it's a bit more difficult to find one. The best way is to ask your hotel to arrange it for you. They have all the necessary contacts.
also I heard someone on youtube said you can hire a private driver for around 50 euros per day, so it's certainly a better option if you don't fancy driving yourself. How easy is it for find these drivers?
I haven't heard of such a deal but if it's true, then yes you should absolutely go for it. Even 100€ would be a good deal, if it's for the entire day. No idea how to find these drivers though, as I said, I've never heard of them. Maybe your hotel will know more.
Just ending my stay in Santorini, having rented a car. I used the car about 4 times because the drivers here are absolute maniacs haha. There are no rules, and if you make the mistake of actually doing the speed limit, you will be bullied off the road. The roads here aren’t dangerous, but the locals will kill you
