It’s lovely to hear of your experience here and it’s so good to know that we are still a welcoming people. I have seen things change here a lot over my lifetime and I felt some of what you talk about was lost but your experience has given me so much hope.
We are a different vibe in Ireland I'd say, but mainly out in the country. The cities are like every other. New subscriber. Lovely to have you, breathing new life into our old houses and regenerating rural communities. Thank you.💚🤍🧡
I can talk for Wales but being Scottish and having family living in Ireland, wr tend to be very similar. We liok after each other and remember to stay slower so you can acknowledge each other. Im so happy you are embracing and being embraced by a kinder more gentle community ❤
@saudilass Thank you. We love both Scotland and Wales, and they were high on our wishlist of places to live. We were fortunate to have choices and feel we made the best one for us 😀
I've lived in Ireland as a child but returned to the UK as late teenager. I missed the Irish vibe and space and peace terribly. But at the time getting a job was very hard. After almost 30 years we returned to live an I knew I was home. It wasn't particularly easy second time around but even though we live in France now Ireland is truly my home. ❤
What a lovely video - thank you so much! I totally agree with you both! The Irish folk are just gorgeous. I've been holidaying in Ireland for decades and have never found the friendliness of the people any different. Myself and partner are going to move over to the west this year - just currently looking for property. All best to you both, love the videos! Kx
@kategreen-adarkcarnival6747 Thank you, what kind words. Once again, we are blown away by the lovely comments we are receiving. We really are touched by every single one. The very best of luck to you with your search, you won't regret it.😊
Lovely video,im currently renovating a old cottage in West Clare, it'll be home in the near future, planning something similar with my garden and a bit of glamping, looking forward to following your journey 😊
Thank you for your kind comment. The garden is a huge passion of Michelle's and will continue to develop over the coming years. Her next project is a secret garden, so watch this space.😄 Best of luck with your cottage and future plans, such exciting times ahead.
I am a new subscriber and really enjoyed listening to you both chatting and filling us in on your journey in Ireland! I am Irish and have travelled a bit but it's always nice to come home again. I can't imagine living anywhere else. Welcome to you both and I hope all of your dreams come true! It's lovely to know that you are happy here .... God Bless you both xx
@AnneHeyns Thank you. We couldn't have asked for better. I'm glad you like the kitties. Their names are Daisy and Marley, by the way. They are the real stars, especially Daisy!🐱
My partner and I moved to rural Ireland in July. We are renovating an old cottage and living off grid at the moment, too. Our experiences/views are definitely the same as yours. It's a very positive and relaxed place to live and feels like you are just left to get on with your life with little to no interference compared to the UK. We are visiting family in the UK currently, and the vibe here is very different to Ireland.
@fintonmainz7845 Hi, thanks for your question. We have a full time business, that we set up on arrival that benefits our local community and surrounding areas, as we have mentioned in previous videos. We pay tax, PRSI, social charge and LPT. The locals have welcomed us with warm hearts. And to reassure you we do not receive any benefits. 😀
Hello, watching here in Dublin and enjoying your little natter. The weather thing drives me mad. Where did the idea come from that it rains all the time in Ireland?? Is it some sort of foreign conspiracy. We were always taught from schooldays that when the weather comes from the east it is cold but when it comes from the west it is warm. It is the gulf stream that keeps the weather in Ireland reasonably temperate. We rarely get bad weather like you get in England, this week excepted!! It rarely comes to Dublin it was bright and sunny today 😄😄
I left the UK 24 years ago. I couldn't cope with the endless vacousness of the class system, the general un informed opinions the envy, and snobbery. When I go back I'm made aware of it all over again.
Being an Irish man (Dublin) I’m loving the positive feedback regarding Irish people. We are warm, genuine and helpful. We have empathy like Saudi have oil. Delighted you are loving your stay. Keep on keeping on and pass on the good nature. Go n’deirigh an bohar leat, May the road rise with you 👍
We Irish are so modest...wer lovely..wer helpful..wer def chatty..we love talking about the weather..well we do get a lot of it..its an ICE breaker. I told ye..wer modest 😂. Look, you get kindness if you're a kind person..if your friendly to others you get friendliness returned. It works both ways. Delighted yer finding living here good for ye. We all need that slower pace of life. P.s don't praise out little island too much or we won't have a derelict cottage or a bit of boggy land left..every nationality will be moving in..😅). ( So sorry to hear you lost your mum).
Lovely comment, thank you. You are so right about the ice breaker with the weather. It does give everyone a lot to talk about for sure. 🤣 Thank you also for your kind words about my mum. 😊
Im Irish and have a lot of relations in England. I've been over and back to England all my life and i find in the last 15 to 20 years especially there's an underlying anger building in people. Whether its the modern world, pace of life or just the rat race, in London especially. Its a shame because some of my best memories growing up were holidays in London, really good salt of the earth hard working, spirited, people. But, for me anyway, somethings been lost there.
@@DrDooDah Hi, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, we do not reveal our exact location due to security reasons.
