    Yes, interesting video and short and to the point. Nice. I like the little details here, such as the hot warm-ups (or whatever they are called on your side of the pond). i don't care about being a little chilly at night but the warmers for the boots in the morning is a great idea. thanks much.

    Thanks for making this info available man, I'm riding a harley davidson sportster with saddlebags but this helps so much for trying to remain as minimal as possible.

    I enjoyed this video and appreciate your information. Your gear list is superb and should help many newer motorcycle campers on what items are needed and on what items are desired. My personal list is a tad more "minimal" but adequate. I'll often ride/camp for several months at a time as well as basic overnighters. Experience will refine the process more than anything else. I will add one basic guideline -- put all the items you wish to take on the floor and beside it put the money you plan to have for the trip. Take half the items and twice the money. -- I look forward to more of your videos.

    Thank you for the video. I follow ultralight backpacking videos alot and i must say that there is very little about your kit that is "minimalist' from the UL standpoint. However if you can carry all that on a sport bike then I can definately make it work for camping with my cafe racer. Thanks again!

    Nice to find a video for camping on a non-touring bike. You can save a shitload of space (and leave your backpack at home) if you invest in a proper lightweight tent, and a inflatable mattress. I have one from Exped and it's easily half the size of my sleeping bag! Bringing two sleeping bags on a solo trip is just absurd! Riding for hours on end with a backpack is a good way to get a miserable ride

    Interesting video, thanks for sharing! I cracked up when you said "I'm a minimalist so I only take everything I need and nothing more." and then started talking about electronics. L.O.L. You do take less needless things than a lot of people with motorcycle camping vids on here though.

    „So, first of all, I would point out, I am a minimalist. Which means I will take only what I need and nothing more.“ (guess, this is what Mr. Lanford said, sounds like Swiss-German or Dutch for Germans). Minimalistic stuff in the little tankbag (Tank-Rucksack)? A teapot, a gas stove, a frypan and not at least, a wooden spoon. Hmmmm, exotic, weird, british. Would not be a toothbrush and a tube of detergent enough for one week? Nevertheless, Mr. Lagford makes a good advertisement for a trip to the island, see his videos about Cornwall, Isle of whigt, the gorge, lands end…. It really is that there! Roads built along ancient hedges instead of the other way around. I was always prepared to meet shaun the sheep or teletuppies crossing. Fortunately, I only drove a chicken. I saw the sign „chickens crossing“ too late www.keckl.de/England_04/25_restaurant_chickens.jpg . Visit Brtain, yet there is no entrance fee www.keckl.de/England_04/bikerun04_georg.htm . Sometimes the English discipline was exhausting. The most fun we had: driving like in southern Italy or southern France. Thank you: Georg Keckl

    Well done mate...you’ve obviously been thinking about what works for you. There is no optimum...only lots of alternatives and each to their own. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻😁

    The extra sleeping bag takes up space. You dont like mats, but the self infating mats used by "ultra light" backpackers might be the ticket for saving space instead of an extra bag. My mat is roughly one litre (packed) size its only 3/4 length weighs one pound, its made be thermorest, my !st one got damaged but was replaced free of charge.Life time gaurantee, full length would be more comfy.

    Small pack tent or bivvi, karrimat, small pack s/bag, tiny torch, mug + spoon. Does`nt help the bike`s handling, BUT you can carry that without panniers. [+Good w/proofs] You need hot food and drink? That`s what caffs and burger vans are for!

    Hey Frazer. Well made video.
    Though this is not minimalist... at all. This is coming from a backpacker's point of view of course.
    I'm not telling you to rush out an buy a cutting edge down sleeping bag or cut the handle off your toothbrush to save a few grams. You may just maybe pair it down a bit.
    That being said, the video was well produced and was obviously thought through.
    Thanks man.

    Why did you get rid of the deauville its superb for touring camping ect

    • @motorbikeway
      @motorbikeway 9 лет назад

      Jen Kirk I would of kept the deauville, but unfortunately, I do more day rides now and the sports bike is more suitable for my all round needs. However if I get enough money together, I would definitely get another one, even if I just used it for my touring. They are one of the best bikes for storage in my opinion.

      In this video I was using an 18L Oxford first time tank bag, and the panniers are 40L generic unbranded. However I change my luggage to suit every trip.
