Its nice not so crouded you can realy Walk in Peace ✌️ Not to much People around. When is the best time to come in Budapest?
A little help to see what's happening in the Castle District! The government ordered two years ago that everything should be restored to pre-WWII standards! This means that several buildings that were bombed down will be completely rebuilt according to the original plans. Or buildings that have been damaged and half demolished will also be restored. So several ministries will move back into the castle district in these buildings. The Royal Palace will also be restored to its original state inside and out! It will take ten years, but it will be done.

And adding insult to injury, there are people, who complain about this renovation, citing, that the pre WW2 government was fascist. There is no deductive connection between the Hauszmann buildings and the Horthy government, but the naysayers allways come up with this kind of twisted logic. The communists in power after 1945 did terrible things, and the negligence of this historic building district is among them. I would rather see the King Matthias castle district rebuilt, but that comes from my love for gothic architecture. This renovation is a welcome thing. I'm just sorry that the current government does it, and not another one with less corruption.
